Got to love that attitude and mentality by this team.

Hopefully Vic can do something to help out Burks because he will be the target all game long next week.

Looked like the type of injury that could keep him out much of next season as well.  Hope it's only a bad sprain, but I don't have a lot of hope.

I wonder if we sign David Long. He played for Fangio in Miami last year. Currently a FA. He's a vet so he can start in a pinch.

His teammates are aware of the book and how he reads it, they call it the " recipe" apparently, what would you rather he do on the sideline sitting on the bench? Smitty was next to him just chilling with a coat on, is that bad good? If brown wants to do sodoku on the sideline cuz it helps him focus who cares, its not like he was looking at porn on the sideline.

Of course the media is going to make more out of it than it is

If Brown had 150 yards and 2 tds and was reading his book on the sideline would it be a problem or causing drama?

Dudes an all pro ,again, playing on a team that throws the ball like 20 times a game eagles wom a hard fought playoff game and people want to cause drama over him reading an inspirational passage on the sideline.

No drama except what the stupid philly media makes.

Look at the tablet over the previous drive. I'm sure Hurts does it but whenever the camera is on him when they're on the sidelines he's very rarely looking at the tablet

Just stopped in to learn how badly we were beaten and how badly everybody played.

By all accounts, very badly.

Mike Schmidt was so right.

It seems like you just stopped in to post this. It doesnt really jive with reality.

Listening to WIP on my drive...the threshold for Hurts is officially "just don't turn it over."  If he puts a 0 in the turnover margin, then his proponents will say he did is job and had a good game.  As long as he doesn't do anything to lose, it's on the shoulders of other players to do something to win.

The win negates any criticism

Every playoff game is different, and the Eagles have a history of just barely getting by in some recent playoff home openers.  The concern is the fact it’s becoming more and more likely defenses will scheme to slow down Barkley, and less and less likely Hurts has the ability to win the game with his arm when the Eagles need it.

What's worse...only complaining after a win or only complaining about complaining?

Wasn’t he picked up by Tennessee?

It doesn’t mean you don’t point out or talk about things going forward

Agreed.

If that's the bar, we should trade him immediately.

At this point, rather than expecting Jalen to become a passer - I’m just hoping he can continue to take care of the ball AND stop taking the drive ending sacks. Run towards the sticks, throw it away - just avoid the insurmountable negative play.

Yup.

This is why I was beating the drum before and during the game to stop passing the ball.

He’s not a good passer. It is what it is. Do not allow him to pass the ball on early downs because he is almost guaranteed to stall the drive.

If we run on first and second down, there is a really good chance we are in 3rd and 4 type situations, which means you can do high percentage plays and convert the first down.

He has had a very good season. Hopefully, he can get healthy for next year.

That is literally the bar and has been since around mid season.

I couldn't keep up with this thread (partially because I was on Ellie duty, partially because.... jeebus you guys are obsessed football nerds), but between some things I saw here and some things I heard on the radio this AM, I would like to play devils advocate in regards to AJ Brown reading that book.

I get that there is a perception that he's a diva, so this could be a way to act out.  And I get the perception he can be hostile toward the local media.

But this is also a person who has battled serious depression.  I don't think I can fault him for having something that keeps his compass pointing true north.

As for the quote "No, I was not frustrated at all, I figured that’s probably what y’all thought. I wasn’t frustrated. Why y’all always think I be frustrated? Dang! I read the book, I like to read it.”, he IS talking to a local media that has speculated where his head is at for the past two years.  Not sure I can blame him for being defensive.

Who knows.  Maybe next week he posts a goose egg because Hurts is so rusty he couldn't hit a billboard and ends up stuffing a make a wish kid in a gatorade jug and I'm WAY off.  But after listening to some of the takes on WIP I really think this is a nothingburger.

Why are people treating this AJ Book thing like he was doing sit-ups in the Driveway, lol.  The Book is now selling like hotcakes on Amazon, lol.  I'm sure the Author is going to be happy.

We know Hurts isn't a great passer but with Brown, Smith, Goedert we have to do better. And that includes Moore. When you have those weapons you don't need to be a gunslinger, just get the ball in their hands and let them do the rest. Too many playmakers on this offense to have 3 and outs like that.

Lions allowed more yards per game but fewer TDs over the season.

Given the injuries the lions have had, they have been scrappy.  What they have done is commendable.

Being that said, they are depleted.  I give the packers the edge TBH.
