I beat this horse dead by mid season.  I’ve seen Hurts with the tablet in his hands 2 or maybe 3 times during his entire time starting.  Now…what truly happens is an offensive assistant comes and sits next to him and seemingly prepares what’s needed.  They chat..he peaks…they continue interacting.

I think the main issue is that we all see it and whether it’s a problem for the team is unknown, but he has the absolute worst body language on the sidelines.  He will go sit on the bench, stare into oblivion for however long just looking completely blank and void of thought or emotion.  He has that deadpan look even when he’s being spoken too.  At some point he normally gets up and interacts… He does however seem to at least be paying attention as you often hear that when Siri has one of his tantrums that Hurts is one of the first there to diffuse.

Wait... are we talking about AJ or Hurts now?  I was talking about AJ.

Feels like we are getting Vikings next week. I would be shocked if the Rams played well given all the outside stuff they have been dealing with recently.

Agreed.

But maybe the Rams get good karma.

Tomorrow. Not next Tuesday or last Tuesday.

Moore is part of the problem. Hurts has his own issues as well. That said, lurie and the eagles are a very analytical organization. They use that intel to help them in making decisions and assist in what they are seeing on the field. I have to imagine they have the same analytics that Sheil has used on the ringer Philly special most of the season. The eagles passing game from an analytics standpoint according to sheil’s numbers is actually worse than 2021. That to me is a problem. Lurie is going to look at that and say we have to fix it. Jalen hurts is back next year because of his contract and having to find the replacement on top of that. Would anyone really be surprised if Moore isn’t brought back? I wouldn’t be. Do i think it’s likely? No but i wouldn’t be entirely shocked if the pass offense is bad next week in the divisional round and they happen to Lose that it’s considered in that building. That said let’s hope they ball out next week

Sometimes those types of situations can give a team just enough juice to ride in and win a close, hard fought game on emotion and will alone. But then they usually come out flat the next week because it's tough to sustatin that kind of energy every week. I wouldn't be shocked if the Rams won in that fashion, but I expect to steam roll them when they come here after they fall back down from that high.

Yeah, I understand the confusion.

I was talking about people are complaining about the optics of reading the book on the sidelines, UTE said "what would you rather he do on the sideline sitting on the bench?" and that's when Mike said "Look at the tablet over the previous drive. I'm sure Hurts does it but whenever the camera is on him when they're on the sidelines he's very rarely looking at the tablet".  So he was saying AJ should as well and brought Hurts into it.

People on WIP were saying "If he wants to read that passage so bad, he should have just had it on a tablet".  I'm sure the Eagles organization loves player loading their own stuff on their equipment

It's possible.  That Hurts is in the rearview... just as the 2013 Foles was also in the rearview.    Gotta hope that this coaching staff does what that coaching staff did... which was go back and study what made that older version so much more effective.

That and his run threat. Yesterday was a watch and see with Hurts after the concussion IMO. We are one week closer to the finish line, I want Hurts to stay healthy but when his run threat is 100% it helps this offense tremendously.

Our 3rd down success benefits a lot when Hurts uses his legs.

Be smart but implement it into our game plan.

Big news if true

One of the local reporters said don't be surprised if Ben VanSumeran makes it back as Dean's replacement. He's been back in the building more and more each week.

Saints were displaced from Katrina and ended with the second worst record in 2005.  The following year they were back in NOLA and won the division.

Stability and routine trumps "emotional edge"

Thought about that too. If they do pull it off it will be at best a one game boost. Still hard to see them being prepared and ready when at a minimum they had to move to a new practice facility and field, at worst they are dealing with a lot more than football.

I think I'd rather play the Vikings anyway. I like the odds of this defense against Sam Darnold.

The ultimate weapon

I'll say this about the Rams: they have been a great Thursday night game team because of their scheme. They have their style and play it.

They're one of the few teams that can win without practicing.

That is literally the bar and has been since around mid season.

If the WR were JJAW, Greg Ward, Deontay Burnett and John Hightower then that MIGHT be an acceptable bar. However, he has one of the best WR/TE/RB combos in the league and THIS is what we're supposed to be excited about?

Would be be happy if Saquon was going out there and putting up 17 carries for 53 yards...but at least he didn't fumble!

I always see AJ with the other WR’s talking about routes and coverage techniques they’re seeing and what to do.  Either way, i think my comment still works for the ‘we don’t know what we aren’t shown’.  Everything has to be an issue sometimes.  AJ is really good at bringing this upon himself though, i will say that.

He's in the building because he's rehabbing after his knee surgery he had like a month ago.

It's close, I go back and forth on it, but I think I prefer the Rams, partly due to having seen how well we fared against them last time. I just worry that a Flores defense against our offense could cause a couple untimely turnovers that would make for a white knuckle grind.

Never know.  They could use it as a motivational factor as well.

The only way that the Rams win is if:

Bad Sam Darnold returns... sort of the type that played against the Lions.
Matt Stafford carries the Rams to victory by sheer will.

Damn. That's one of the tougher injuries to recover and rehab from. Even worse than an ACL if I'm not mistaken. Nate Allen wasn't ever the same after his.
