I know Sirianni mentioned the two sacks as why he gave Smith the game ball.  IMO, taking out their LG was one of the biggest plays of the game.

His job was to set the edge and did it with such violence he changed the game.

That was an insane collision.

While we tackled like crud yesterday, there’s no doubt we are a physical team. Last year we might have been the softest defense in the league in every way imaginable.

Actually think taking the week off probably didn’t help the eagles in that aspect. Also burks had issues. I don’t think burks is going to be Dean but i do think he can be average. If he’s that we can be fine going forward. Not ideal but i do think burks can be better than what we had last year

I watch games around the league and I do see the tablets being used. Google is also your friend

Yes tablets get used. But you don't see any QB with a tablet on every defensive drive every time they are on camera. Eagles fans will place a standard on their own QB that no other QB in the league meets.

The Eagles were already going to draft another LB next season most likely just because they have such little depth there and Dean unfortunately has been so injury prone. He's gotten hurt literally every season. But at least we know we have two young stud LBs when healthy for the first time in years. Dean will bounce back, in the mean time add some depth in the offseason.

Patella tendon is a tough recovery, honestly he would of been better off with a ACL. They won't be able to count on Dean going forward or playing next season for that matter.

i kind of figured a chance he’s on pup list to start next year. Really need to keep baun and hope trotter can fill in to start next year or draft a LB relatively high as Dean is on the last year of his contract in 2025

Yeah, feel horrible for him and the impact he has on our defense will be costly. But Dean has a long history of injuries at this point. I don't think you can realistically count him. Considering the amount Baun will cost you're going to need to draft another relatively high considering how important they are to this defense. Let's hope Howie sees that light and extends Dean and finds another no later than round 3.

The defense played great.   The offense, specifically the passing offense, cannot be described as anything but ugly.  And going forward in the playoffs, that Achilles heel may rear its head.   There is reason for concern.  They need to be better in the passing game, from execution to scheme, to play calling.

There is a deficit in playcalling on this team. I am not sure whether it is that Hurts has too much discretion or just a coaching issue.

McKee would run the offense better and they have him inactive.

We don't know that and it's not the time of year to try that.

Also once the giants started to blitz McKee struggled as well. You don't think flores or the rams would blitz the crap out of him.

I agree something is broken in the offense whether it's the QB or the scheme but they are getting the wins which in the end is what matters.

You're late. Already said I've seen it being used but majority of the time when the camera is on him he's not using it and staring off

Why are you choosing to argue this? Just in a mood to argue for the sake of arguing?

There was a play where Brady said Hurts alerted or checked to a run, then reverted back to the original play call after getting a different look from the defense (can be heard saying "reload" at the LOS pre-snap.) I can't remember which specific play that happened on, anyone else remember?

There are throws there to be made; it's dependent on quick recognition by the QB, though.

The first play is a completion to DeVonta if the throw is to his right, away from the defender.  The second play DeVonta is wide open; make his man miss 1-on-1 and it can be a TD.  Gainwell is open on the crosser on a later clip.

You'd love to see guys wide open at the top of their routes, but it's not always going to happen.  The Eagles offense needs quicker recognition and decision making from Hurts.

I thought we really had a lot of slow developing plays down the field and trying for the big play instead of get it out quick and make packers adjust then hit them over the top. I remember listening to a podcast (maybe Philly special) where they talked about the Green Bay Packers were kind of in the middle of the road and even worse without Alexander at giving up big explosive plays. part of me thinks the Eagles gameplan was they probably could get big plays against this defense because they’ve been susceptible to it. However Green Bay was not going to allow the Eagles to beat them with those explosive plays and we just really didn’t adjust to getting it out quickly to our guys.

C'mon, he's the coach, not Hurts' servant. It's his job to run the offense that gives them the best chance of success. Hurts has been inconsistent, but people are being blinded by their anti-Hurts agenda and giving everyone else a pass. One person is never to blame for struggles. We saw it vs the Steelers. Offense was coming off an ugly game, they came out running exactly the type of stuff we wanted to see and the offense was humming all game.

So where is that same stuff? Why revert back to the same garbage that made the offense stagnant this season? Moore and Sirianni should not get a pass on this.

What happened to the RPO slants to Brown over the middle? What happened to the mesh concepts? What happened to Devonta drags over the middle when sending everyone else deep giving Devonta a chance for YAC? They reverted back to the all verticals and all curls BS yesterday.

Exactly

Feels very much like a hicks situation. Hicks was always good when he played here just could never avoid injuries until his last year here and he was too risky to pay what he got in FA

Don't remember the play either but just remember Brady giving the detailed explanation of it

I was tough on Hurts last night but at the end of the day I agree - scheme and play calling are also responsible.

Works fine with backup QBs in.

I love Nolan Smith so much.

I think he's still in their plans, they will likely lock him up at some point, Howie loves his homegrown guys and he's a team leader. But yes, they will definitely add more depth.

If you read or listen to the All-22 guys (recommend Shiel Kapadia's Philly Special podcast), it is generally accepted that the Eagles have a very basic passing scheme.  Slants, mesh, a deep shot now and then, some out routes.  It is predictable enough to allow the defense to anticipate routes.

Not much play action or rollouts from under center. They are in the playbook.  We've seen them occasionally with Hurts.  Moore used it a lot in Dallas with Dak and it led to top-rated offenses.  It isn't Sirianni getting in the way.  It's the QB not being comfortable turning his back to the defense.  It's not a fatal flaw, but it limits the offense.

Also, Hurts changes the play plenty at the LOS.  We hear after the game about the times he checks into a successful play.  Not when he doesn't.  And it happens.

So don't blame Moore for the scheme.  It is limited by the QB.  And don't blame Moore for every play that doesn't work, the QB often decides what is run and where the pass goes.

Still confused as to if the Flyers are also playing in this new arena. I’m assuming so which means WFC is going to be likely going to eventually be gone and used for something else. Still think goodell being involved in this was because lurie is going to ask for a new retractable dome stadium so he can bring a SB to Philly, final four and other such events

He probably won't even be able to practice until mid 2025 season. Such a bummer.

He really had one of the best Eagle defensive performances in a playoff game in a very long time. He was a total game-wrecker.

Jalen hurts has his own set of issues. he needs to work on them. He needs to get better. He can’t play like he did yesterday going forward because you’re gonna face better teams. If he does we are probably going to get eliminated.

i said last night kellen Moore also has an issue. This was one of the things Cowboys fans said they absolutely disliked about him and his offense. Similar with lamb that he would just disappear from the playbook or the game plan for long stretches of time and it didn’t make any sense. This has happened with AJ Brown a lot this year. why I brought it up after the ravens game. Can just dump it all on hurts but when at his previous job he had fans saying the same thing it tends to be an issue with him as much as hurts missed some throws.

Do you think Moore has trouble adjusting to what the defense is doing? Orlovsky's video he suggested GB knew the routes and covered them well and blamed Moore for the passing issues.

Do you think Moore has a hard time planning for whatever version of Hurts shows up, since he is inconsistent? Or tough when he's been practicing recently with the backups and Hurts was limited in the protocol?
