What I remember about that 89 playoff loss was that Eric Allen got hurt during the week, reportedly horsing around in the locker room. I think he missed the game. We quickly fell behind early and it was lights out. Plus, it rained, which sucked. And I went to the game with a Rams fan. He had a great time while I was miserable. Just a horrid memory.

I have no memory of that game. I know I was home on leave, so I'm sure I watched it but I must have blocked it out. Rewind a year to the Fog Bowl and I have clear memory of that one. It still pisses me off that they didn't delay the game until the fog lifted. <_<

Hope the NFL doesnt pull a hurricane Katrina saints super bowl for the LA fire ravaged Rams.

The Saints lost in the NFCCG the year following Katrina. They didn’t win the Super Bowl til the 09 season.

I remember that 89 game pretty well. Greg Bell ran all over us it was super depressing.

Vikings had 4 losses on the year. All 4 were to the lions and rams.

just realize not just all 4 to the rams and lions but each time it happened in back to back weeks.

It’s like the Packers. 2 losses to Minnesota, 2 losses to Detroit, and 2 to us. One in each hemisphere lol.

I honestly do not know the answer, but Stafford/McVay loves to do that quick release/quick throw crap.  Is man in press coverage the best way to fight against it?  I don't need to see Stafford releasing the ball in one second all the way down the field carving us up.

Spread at 6.  Not sure why it is higher than it was against the Packers.  Must be the shellacking we gave the Rams earlier in the year though I'd say that is ancient history now.

The Rams will surely do everything they can to stop Saquon and put the ball in Hurts' hands.  Moore needs to come up with a good game plan and Hurts will need to hit some passes to win this game.  I still think the run/pass mix will be the same and that Saquon will get up just north of 100 but Hurts will need to hit a couple more passes as the D will keep us in it but aren't going to totally stop Stafford and his receivers.

Hurts is going to have to use his legs to maximum effect.   Moore needs to scheme up some plays to get him going that way and I believe that gets him into the game and helps his passing.

The Rams should be another two score win, easily.

I've said for weeks, the Vikings are frauds, no reason to be scared of them.

And no reason to fear the Rams either, but they at least beat a couple legit teams. The Vikings had a cake walk schedule.

I think we would have crushed minny

but at least this collapse gives them cover to get on to mccarthy and not overpay darnold

I was in the 600 level with my dad for that one. God it was miserable

but still it was the first home playoff game in forever and the start of Buddy making it cool and fun to be an eagles fan again

This is going to be the game where Hurts is going to have to basically play like Tom Brady.  In the sense that he's going to have to get the ball out quick and hit some short/intermediate passes.  LA will have to sell out to stop Saquon and we can torch Williams and Lake with our receivers.  A couple of nice, long extended drives and we can pin our ears back and go after Stafford all game long.

A signature ToastJenkins performance - burnt a couple times, but maybe he got an INT🤔

Well the NFL sure milked NO hurricane narrative, that and drew Brees birthmark...😉

 are you just combining random routes now? Maybe it was a dig/corner or a pivot/slant?

Where is all the Burks hate coming from?

His tackle on the opening kickoff yesterday set the tone of the game.  Was that bad?

Ike Reese was a great ST player, but not so much as a full-time LB.

Legitimately happy for the Rams winning yesterday given everything they went through. Disney-movie stuff. They deserve it.

On the other side of the field, the Vikings looked like they didn't want to be there.

I don’t see it that way.  Unless the Rams defenders have added about 30 lbs per, they don’t stack up against this oline.  Saquon ran for 255 against them.  The game where Hurts has to play a lot better will be in Detroit

The vikings know theyre losing right...Right???

I said it earlier in the year, but for as good as he is, his stats are nearly meaningless. Granted, WR need consistent good QB play, but Jefferson is going to have a high paying, stat bloated career which he wins nothing.

That describes most top WRs in NFL history, with the exception of Jerry Rice and perhaps Irvin

Feels like the Vikings once they lost to the lions just mentally checked out. That was a massive game where darnold completely no showed. I think it completely change the feeling in that locker room.

It’s also easy to forget we didn’t have devonta smith in that first game either

Jalen only had 175 Passing in the 1st matchup and Saquon ran wild.  The Defense also shutdown Stafford most of the game and held them to 14 points (Outside of a garbage time TD).   This is our formula.  Regardless of them trying to "Stop" Saquon, they won't able to.  Sure he probably won't get 255 yards but I could see him getting 150.   Again obviously the playoffs are different but I feel good about this rematch.  Outdoors cross the Country on short week in Chilly Philly.   Also the Eagles have won 8 of the their last 9 games against the Rams.  (Including 2-0 in the Sirianni/Hurts Era)
