I know he used the dread C word, but lifetime ban?  Goodness, that's kinda sad. Why not contact him and have him apologize? I saw the company he works for put out a press release and there are talks he will lose his job now/?

When are they going to fix the backup situation?

Yep. Randy Moss, Megatron, Larry Fitzgerald, TO, Chris Carter, etc.

Not exactly bad company to keep.

Yeah, we can see the scars from that game in your profile name and avatar every time you post.

Feels like the Vikings once they lost to the lions just mentally checked out. That was a massive game where darnold completely no showed. I think it completely change the feeling in that locker room.

He picked the perfect time to have his worst game of the season

Something to keep in mind on Sunday is the Cooper DeJean factor. The Rams game was his "hey rookie, welcome to the NFL". I'd imagine he's learned a ton since then and now has his own tape from that game to study. He shouldn't be the easy completion he was the first time around.

In the offseason, if that.

Coaches have a risk aversion that fans do not.  One side of that is wisdom and the reason they are getting paid to coach in the NFL after years of experience.  The other side of that coin is risk aversion and a bit less perspective because they are in the weeds and their jobs are on the line.

Mckee is a smoother pure passer and has more upside...but in the 3rd quarter of a playoff game coming in cold because of an injury?  Obviously, you don't trust either one, but the coaches will be a lot less terrified of disaster going with the guy who has started numerous games in this league against all sorts of defenses.

For both good and bad reasons, there is just no way they would put Mckee out there in the playoffs over Pickett.

The one silver lining for Minnesota is at least you know Sam Darnold isn’t the guy and you don’t have to bring him back. You can just move forward with JJ McCarthy and see what he is. if Sam Darnold would’ve played OK in the playoffs, won a game and they were competitive in the other then you were likely finding a way to bring him back and pushing mcccarthy’s timeline back.

Losing his job would be a bit much but a ban from the stadium is perfectly reasonable. Going to a sporting event is a privilege, not a right. Behave like a normal human being when you're out in public or there might be consequences for being drunk and belligerent towards others.

Bills Ravens is going to be great.

Eagles vs. a heating up Rams team is pretty good.

Chiefs/Texans and Lions/Commanders are going to be complete dud games.  Zero intrigue there.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Honestly, this is what everyone was expecting from Darnold, and it's why I was hoping to play them in the 2nd round.  I knew the defense could get pressure on him and expose his bad habit of holding onto the ball too long.  Shady has been saying it for weeks now that the "real Sam Darnold" will eventually show up, and that the Vikings aren't a threat.

I don’t see it that way.  Unless the Rams defenders have added about 30 lbs per, they don’t stack up against this oline.  Saquon ran for 255 against them.  The game where Hurts has to play a lot better will be in Detroit

There are two levels to this topic.

The Detroit one is where we can't stop the Lions and need to win a shootout and Hurts has to throw up near 30x and get 300yrds.

The other one is where the opponents D just simply totally sell out to stop Saquon and Hurts needs to throw hit some key passes including a long one or two to get us up in the mid20s and win the game.  Probably doesn't have more attempts than with GB but needs more success.  I think we are likely looking at this one with the Rams.  They won't stop Saquon but they aren't going to let him run all over them again.  At least not without making sure they have six/seven at the LOS regularly.

Jalen only had 175 Passing in the 1st matchup and Saquon ran wild.  The Defense also shutdown Stafford most of the game and held them to 14 points (Outside of a garbage time TD).   This is our formula.  Regardless of them trying to "Stop" Saquon, they won't able to.  Sure he probably won't get 255 yards but I could see him getting 150.   Again obviously the playoffs are different but I feel good about this rematch.  Outdoors cross the Country on short week in Chilly Philly.   Also the Eagles have won 8 of the their last 9 games against the Rams.  (Including 2-0 in the Sirianni/Hurts Era)

It was no picnic early, as the Rams were moving the ball with ease during their first 2 drives. Fortunately, we got a fumble in the RZ so only gave up 7pts. Meanwhile, our offense bogged down and was settling for FGs. I don’t think we really found Saquon until the 2nd Q. Fortunately, this when the defense really stepped up and stifled LA until halftime. Middle 8, with big plays from Barkley and we separated, and just leaned on the running game the rest of the way.

Darnold reverted back. I’d add their oline also began falling off in the second half of the packers game and really never played at a high level the last two games as well. I thought the loss of darrisaw would hurt them. But they had surprisingly held up. The last two weeks their oline also just fell apart along with darnold.

Our Defense is even better than at that point.  Stafford is a very capable and competent QB.   But we can not get away from our Formula and try to get cute.  Run the ball, play tough defense and get those big pass plays when needed.

All remaining teams are going to stack the box and run blitz to stop Saquan.  They are all going to force Hurts to be a passing playmaker.  It's not a difficult decision.  Do everything that can be done to put the offense on Hurts passing the ball.

I gotta imagine that the Rams might take a look at what the commanders did against the Eagles (even without hurts) and just sell out against the run. granted the Eagles offensive line and Saquon are good enough for it to happen anyways. But I think their defensive game plan is likely we are going to sell out against the run and force Jalen hurts and the passing game to beat us. If you the eagles do, we will tip our cap to you. But we are not allowing to what happened with Saquon last time to happen again.

that said rams defense has played well outside of the Buffalo game since we last faced them. They’ve given up 14, 42, 6, 9, 9, 9 (didn’t include week 18 as they just rested guys). They also had a really easy schedule after us with Buffalo being the only really good team and Minnesota was the second best (New Orleans, Buffalo, niners, jets, cardinals and Vikings).

Also i still don’t think their offense has played at the level they did since Buffalo. They’ve scored on offense 12, 19, 13 and 20 (defensive td last night). Even last night the first quarter they looked great. Rest of the game they didn’t do much except for the short field Minnesota gave them by not punting (frankly huge mistake cause a punt may have kept it at 17-3 going into halftime which was at least manageable)

Fair points. I believe Pickett would be better to come in the middle of the game, but McKee would be better if given the full week. Wish we got more opportunities for him over the season, but I think this will be a pretty big offseason for McKee.

I certainly hope they do, that would leave slants to AJ wide open.

And if we cannot find a successful counter to those stacked boxes with AJ, Smitty and Goedert then we have no business making it to the NFCCG

Coaches need to be on point this week.

Watching the weekly bed wetting when we have one of the best teams in the league has been fun.

Here's a question to rile everyone up.  No rationalization, no debate.  Just answer the following...if the Eagles had X at QB, what is their 2024 record and what would be the end of the line for them in the playoffs?  For instance, for 2023 Hurts, the answer just "11-6, wild card loss."  No commentary.  List:

Patrick Mahomes:

Josh Allen:

Joe Burrow:

Lamar Jackson:

Russell Wilson:

Sam Darnold:

Baker Mayfield:

Justin Herbert:

Jordan Love:

Matt Stafford:

Tanner McKee:

Prime Mcnabb:
