Nobody hates him here more than me, but read my posts last year. You might find them in the he is done thread. I was telling people to see what happens, and then he went back to total suck mode. I'll be very happy if he lifts the trophy this year but he is trash. 

I don't need him to fail to be right he isn't a QB. Howie really F'ed up giving him that contract and we'll lose a good player or two this year cause of a guy that isn't worth the money.

What I saw ... and definitely didn't like ... was Burks looking lost about his assignments on Sunday.  He definitelyndi9d not look like that in the Week 18. It may have been because he played the Baun role in Weekm18 and was playing the Dean role on Sunday. I don't know, but I trust Fangio to sort it out.

So just after telling me not to judge him for missing tackles you mention him looking lost in his assignments as well? Look, I think we all hope a week of practice helps, but I was explaining why people are skeptical of him and you saw it too in another part of his game. Fingers crossed, but he is a weak point as of now.

Vikings only handed the ball 18 times to their RBs all game and had just 5 1st downs rushing.  Eagles should get their 5th rushing 1st down in the 1st quarter.  Hurts won’t have 40 pass attempts like Darnold did.  Probably half of that

Jalen Hurts is not the issue here. He gets to throw alot less with Saquan and it's pretty much stifling his rhythm as a passer. He's executing mostly on what is asked of him. He has stopped playing hero ball and making unnecessary turnovers. That is the key right now. 

I do agree that they need to change the play calling to play more to his strengths. He was off a few weeks and was rusty as well. I believe he will step up as a passer if and when the time comes during these games. But right now this is clearly the MVP'S team, Saquon Barkley. Riding him till the wheels fall off. I want more balance here, but I'm not pointing things at Hurts. He gets a B right now with me for what is asked of him. We will not lose because of him.

I'm not the biggest Hurts fan, but he has a reasonable contract. His cap hit is 13th highest for QBs next season and the only full time starting non-rookie contract QBs hes higher than are Darnold, Lawrence, Minshew, and Purdy.

So unless the Eagles are miraculously in position to draft a good QB, it would cost them more money to sign someone else.

They are playing well right now. Particularly defensive. Granted i don’t think they’ve faced good offenses since Buffalo outside of the Vikings and Darnold and their oline folded the last two weeks. Which credit to lions and rams but really i think this was a regression to the mean for an average Qb and a below average OL without their best OLineman.

i have concerns about their offense as well. Since the buffalo Game, their offense has generated 12, 19, 13 and 20 (defensive td gave them 7). I didn’t include week 18 cause they didn’t play anyone. Their offense looked good at the start of the game scoring 10 points right off the bat. But the rest of the game they only scored 10 points on offense. And the other TD they scored was Minnesota being dumb with going for it on 4th down on their side of the field with an OL and Qb that were playing awful. Imo that game looks worse cause of a poor 4th down decision. If it’s 17-3 at halftime, Minnesota is still in it and it doesn’t look nearly as bad cause the rams offense didn’t do much second half.

I’d also point out I think the Rams are super fortunate the officials overturned that fumble. IMO there wasn’t enough to overturn that when you watch different angles. I’d have kept it ruling on the field.

Simple solution is to not act like an ass.   Cameras are everywhere all the time.   In this day and age, everyone should expect that their worst behavior will be filmed and blasted on the internet, so folks need to curb their behavior accordingly.

That is a thoughtful, balanced response.  I wouldn't necessarily call him a weak point, but rather an unknown.

The missed tackles can happen to any player, especially against Josh Jacobs and/or Saquon.  The lost in his assignments problem was more concerning to me.

I asked the question because the calls for his execution at the guillotine seemed a bit over the top ... especially without some underlying reasons.  I truly wanted to know the reasons.  I've appreciated your responses.

Regarding play calling, what are the advantages to which they should be aligning?
