Funny - this is exactly what I saw all day long Sunday as well, but apparently it's taboo to discuss.  On a message board.  About football.  His passing performance on Sunday was embarrassing, and for those hiding their heads in the sand saying, "Yay no turnovers that's all we need to win!"  When did that become the standard??!

The way the title of that article reads, I thought he just had a great time at Orchids of Asia.

You can't use the holder as leverage, that's a penalty. The only way this strategy works if if you are an absolute freak athlete like Myles Garrett and can hurdle the holder without touching him.

I think you're talking about the snapper, not the holder.  He's saying in that brief second or two where the holder sets the ball down before the kicker kicks it - what if you touch him?  Since his knee is down, would it be a tackle and dead ball?  I'm thinking it's probably covered in the rules that this isn't possible or it would have been done by now?

It’s honestly insane how anyone could watch that game and think Hurts didn’t have a bad game.

It wasn’t OK. It wasn’t good. It was bad.

If this is how he plays going forward we will not win a Super Bowl.

Not really.

2025 option of $40.83M was guaranteed at signing

2026 option of $49.785M has $30.8M become guaranteed in two months.

2027 option of $49.655M has $22M become guaranteed in a year.

It's not about when the bonuses come due, it's when they become guaranteed.

Seems to me the rubber hits the road with the cap hits.  If we were to cut him now pre June 1 then the hit is HUGE.  Cutting him pre June 2026 the hit is still very large.  Post June 1 2026 it doesn't look to bad.

Funny how "If Hurts plays like this we won't go anywhere in the playoffs" has turned into "If Hurts plays like this we will not win the Super Bowl."

Hopefully, in a few weeks, it will be "If Hurts plays like this we won't win another Super Bowl."

The fact that you can't admit that the Eagles won in spite of him this past weekend is the entire reason it seems like there's an anti-Hurts crowd.  He was dreadful on Sunday.  Literally the worst in the last 10 years to actually win a playoff game!!

Kellen Moore: Rams 'playing as well as any defense in the league right now'

In Week 12, Saquon Barkley dashed for 255 rushing yards against the Los Angeles Rams, including a pair of 70-plus-yard scoring blasts, in a 37-20 win.

Ahead of their Divisional Round rematch, Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore sees a different Rams defense than the one they ran over earlier in the season, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

"Long time between those two games, a bunch of other games," Moore said via the team's official transcript. "They are playing as well as any defense in the league right now, and they are playing really confidently. They will stress us in a lot of different ways. And there will be a lot of challenges associated with our run game based on them having the film and the film they have put out the last month and a half, which has been really, really impressive. It will be a challenge."

In Week 12, the score was 13-7 at halftime before Barkley blasted it open. The 2K-back took the first play of the third quarter for a 70-yard touchdown. Then, in the fourth, he soared for a 72-yard score that sealed the matchup.

In two plays, Barkley generated 142 of his 255 rushing yards. He had just one additional run of 10-plus yards on his other 24 carries but picked up chucks -- 4.7 YPC average on his non-TD totes. However, the Rams also held him below three yards on 10 carries. Barkley added four catches for 47 yards, giving him 302 of the Eagles' 481 scrimmage yards in Week 12.

Since giving up 314 rush yards to Philly, the Rams defense has allowed 100-plus rushing yards in five of seven games, including playoffs. In their last five tilts, L.A. is allowing 96.6 rush yards.

"Playing really clean, really sound football," Moore said of the Rams D. You can tell every phase of that defense is tied together, and obviously the front is doing an excellent job getting pressure and the challenge when you get into obvious passing situations. Those guys are as good as it gets in this league collectively."

The young L.A. front has bamboozled quarterbacks, culminating in a nine-sack performance against Minnesota in the Wild Card round. However, since their last meeting, they haven't faced an offensive line as sturdy as the Eagles' crew.

Moore has been impressed with the production from such a young group.

"Any time guys play together, build cohesiveness, build connection, they are going to play better and better and better. They have an excellent staff over there," he said. "Obviously [Rams Defensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator] Giff [Smith], the defensive line coach, I was with in L.A. He's one of the best in the business. He does an excellent job of getting those guys to play together and just play with the incredible effort that they play with. It is just really impressive on film, and it's going to be a real big challenge for us."

Nick Sirianni: 'Lazy' to bash A.J. Brown for reading on sidelines

Head coach Nick Sirianni defended his star wide receiver A.J. Brown for reading a book on the sidelines during the Philadelphia Eagles' wild-card round victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Brenden Deeg of theScore reports.

"I'm definitely OK with it," Sirianni said on 94WIP Radio on Tuesday. "The crazy thing is, he's been reading this book on the sideline for a long time. It just so happened a camera saw it this week."

Sirianni added: "We don't do any research, and we jump to a conclusion of, 'Oh, he must be disgruntled.' That, to me, is lazy. Everyone needs to figure out why he's doing it before they jump to judgment on the man. Because the man, A.J. Brown, is a great, great, great person."

The Fox broadcast showed Brown reading "Inner Excellence" by Jim Murphy following an offensive drive. The 27-year-old had a quiet day, totaling one catch for 10 yards.

Brown said postgame he wasn't reading due to his lack of targets and that it's something he does every contest.

"I'm doing it every drive," Brown told reporters in the locker room, according to Zach Gelb of Sirius XM Radio. "Regardless of if I score a touchdown or drop a pass. You know, it's something how I refocus."

Brown added: "I wasn't frustrated at all. I figured that's what y'all probably thought. Why y'all always think I be frustrated?"

"Inner Excellence" moved to No. 1 on Amazon's best-sellers list Monday after being ranked 523,497th before the game. Murphy is a mental performance coach, and the book promises to teach readers "how to train your mind like the very best."

What's funny about that?  The fact that it's true?  Or the argument against it that Hurts won't/doesn't/can't throw into tight windows against zone?

I do agree that we clearly didn't do enough on offense during the last SB. Now we have a better run game, so it is going to come down to the passing game in the stretch.

So the first QB performance listed here was better than the second one in your view?

A) 8 for 15, 72 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

B) 13 for 21, 131 yds, 2 TDs, 0 INT

Probably depends how many inaccurate throws there were that don't show up on the stats.  Same with taking bad sacks that don't show up on those stats. Same with not seeing open WRs that don't show up in those stats. Same with making the wrong reads on the read options that don't show up on those stats.  Same with making bad line adjustment calls so blitzes get through,  that doesn't show up on those stats. Same with audibling to the wrong play that doesn't show up on those stats.

All you bozos that just keep posting attempts, completions,  yards, and TDs as your defense are missing so much more that is involved in QB play.  And it's why you are mislead by his numbers.

December 31, 1989, I'm 99.9% positive I was home on leave from Fort Hood. So I'm pretty positive I watched it, but I likely turned it off and went to sulk in a dark room (ala Tom Coughlin after DeSean's Miracle at the new Meadowlands) when it became obvious what the outcome was going to be and over the years I've just let it fade from my mind completely.

That 89 Rams team was really really good though. The goat 49ers team that year only had two losses one of them was to the Rams at home.

Sacks were 2 for B and 1 for A. Next question.

I think Hurts/offense did enough in the last SB, the sodfather and Gannon on the other hand were the problem.

The issue now is that Jalen peaked in 2022.  The schemes he's comfortable with have become stale, defenses know how to play him and he's not as dynamic of a run threat.  I don't see this getting better, actually steady decline is what I foresee as he becomes worn down and more injury prone  (so that 2026-2027 contract out is important).

Let's not even talk about the '89 49ers and the Eagles, that game still pisses me off to no end. <_<
