You aren't wrong... but the Texans also screwed up in a couple high leverage situations, which also changed the game.  Missed FG, Missed PAT, Long Kick return to start the game... plus the penalty for taking off the helmet.  They handed the Chiefs 3 points on the first drive, and gave away 4 points in missed kicks.   That's 7 right there... and in a playoff game, that's the difference many times, even without some of the highly questionable calls.
