No need to run a gadget play especially with a wr who’s going to throw it regardless if it’s there or not.

Yep, you give someone a chance to throw the ball other than the qb they’re likely to let it fly whether their guy is open or not. Need to practice throwing it away as much as throwing it to the receiver so they don’t make stupid decisions.

I feel bad for Detroit man. That was a damn good team that was absolutely decimated by injuries and will now lose at least 1 of their coordinators.

I think both are gone.

Loving it.

How Eagles fans will continue to look down at the Lions and their empty trophy case:

But I thought Ben Johnson was the most offensive genius ever.

I mean he is pretty innovative. Frankly less issue with him tonight. Goff having 3 first half turnovers is more killer than his play calling.

Jamison Williams threw a pick.

Yup… it’s over. Detroit is done.

Clean out your lockers and slam your trunks. ... so much wasted hot air on this pathetic team .... greatest team ever .... dan Campbell looks like a poser

I'm getting more nervous about tomorrow. We might have gotten a big break today ONLY if we win tomorrow.

One too many trick plays ya dumb idiot

The plays are great design, you just need to know when to call them based on the feel of the game.

Perfect scenario, Washington blows their load tonight and the Eagles cruise tomorrow.

I remeber when the lions lost to the niners last year and campbell said they may not even make it to playoffs next year or something like that. Then they go and get the #1 seed only to crap in the bed after a bye

Like all those those trick plays are good when you're up 30 like they did against the cowboys..not when you're down 10 in the 4th and the defense in struggling.

Just being realistic and not trying to get ahead of ourselves.

The best outcome for the Eagles was a Washington win today.  Hosting the NFC CG is better than going on the road.   Incidentally, the Eagles have never gone to the Super Bowl when they didn't host the NFC CG.  That's the best option.  Washington will come in with a ton of confidence... but the Eagles will come into that game (assuming a win tomorrow) with a chip on their shoulder.

And if the Eagles don't win tomorrow, today's outcome is completely irrelevant anyway.

What?  I'll take the Eagles against any team.  Ravens?  Ate'em for breakfast.  WA? Handled them at home and they had to score 21 4th qtr points against Pickett to win.  Buffalo?  I'll take our chances.

I admire your optimism. Both the Commies and Lions teams are not cakewalks though, but let’s beat the Rams first.

Source?

Birds will win tomorrow and the media will continue to talk about how the visiting team is going to beat them for a 3rd consecutive week

Monday my time.

I realised it as soon as I posted it that it would confuse people and changed it to tomorrow

I forget what game it was, but they called a trick play. And the wide receiver, just threw the ball away instead of trying to force it. And after the game, the quarterback said he’s like, thankfully he didn’t throw it. Cause most of the time the wide receivers gonna throw it regardless, if it’s there or not cause they usually don’t get to throw the ball .

I think they took him too high at #12. They had two 1st’s that year and I think he would have been there at #18 (their other 1st) or traded back from #12. Even Gibbs said he was shocked he was taken so high.

One thing about the lions is that their front office is very good. They identify players they like and get them.

If you think a guy is a star, is it really smart to pass on him because you’re taking him a handful of spots before he would hypothetically be "good value?”

My read on Gibbs was that he was almost a lock to be a star. Elite speed and elusiveness, great hands, near WR route running, and crucially he is capable of running between the tackles at a high level. Obviously the Lions felt the same.

This RB class coming up is an all timer as far as depth. But I’d put Gibbs as a prospect coming out of college above all of them — even Jeanty. Gibbs skill set is EXTREMELY rare. Don’t get cute with that — take the unicorn when they’re staring you in the face.

The probabilities are far higher that Jake Elliott will miss kicks/extra points than there are that Jalen Hurts will turn the ball over.

Again you are using specific players.  That biases tha analysis. But even with those introductions, turnovers are not the only way a QB can influence a game.

Washington is a team in a mission. They are hot at the right time.

Biggest choke job I've seen in awhile

The Lions are still the Lions it just took them a while to show up
