So here's a crazy conspiracy theory that could come into play if the Eagles beat LA:  Washington is up for a new stadium.  Means a lot of money for the team, and more importantly, the NFL.  A lot of money.  The day after a bill passes in Congress authorizing a stadium in DC, the Skins beat the Eagles in very strange fashion.

Josh Harris, owner of Sixers and Commanders agrees to a JV with Comcast to construct the new arena at the Sports Complex and ditches the Market East plan that was opposed by the Eagles and the NFL.  The Comcast deal is in line with what the Eagles want.  Roger Goodell and Adam Silver were both lobbying for the Sports Complex deal.  There are huge development plans for the Sports Complex District.  Huge.  There is also the prospect of the Eagles gearing up for a new stadium over the next decade.  A lot of money for the Eagles at stake here.

Could the outcome of a NFCCG be decided based on money?  If Washington wins, the value of that franchise, the new stadium in DC and receipts for the NFL look to be enhanced.  Does Lurie owe Josh Harris a favor for reversing course on the Sixers arena?

Could the above impact the outcome of a potential NFCCG against Washington?  Sure it's a wild conspiracy theory - but did the officiating in that Chiefs-Texans game look kosher?  Seems to me that the NFL is more than capable of fudging outcomes of games if the bottom line for the league is affected.

It would be the only logical explanation.

I said a few days ago that the Lions defense is overrated and their stats come from beating up on bad teams. Any good team they faced, their defense got smacked around and were reliant on their offense to compensate. Couple that with a somewhat standard Goff game and you get last night. The 4 games leading up to the playoffs pre-Vikings they gave up 31 PPG.

Part of it is due to injuries on defense but Aaron Glenn called a terrible game. I mean on that McLaurin TD he blitzed Branch leaving McLaurin with practically a walk in TD.  What was the plan with that blitz? He had 2 over trips and even if the screen wasn’t the call, he was leaving a hot read uncovered.  On a 4th and 2, Daniels had an easy first down by rolling out to his right. No one was setting the edge and watching Daniels on the most obvious call that the Commanders would make.  Part of that is talent sure but Glenn was terrible.

Agree all around. I just think someone needs to absolutely unload on him and take the 15 yards. Maybe even knock him out of the game. Few teams decide to do this and he'll stop getting cute.

Don't know about that. I'd rather they just change the rule. He's still fun to watch IMO

We game the sneak with the push play. It's bad enough there's always an offsides that's rarely called. Wouldn't want someone taking out our QB just because they're tired of it

I’m two hours west of Philly. Big flakes coming down now but no accumulation yet.

Head and shoulders will do the trick

Hurts is 1-0 in outplaying his fellow QB. He's going to go 2-0 today.

Every QB in the playoffs minus SD is better. He had a bad game and they still won. I think he has a bounce back.

He plays best when he just reacts and with the snow that's where he will have to live. He will get it done.

Good point. I'd say that is a bit different though vs I'm going to dance around the line and then flop and draw a penalty on you anyway.

If a player is facing getting flagged for minor contact making sure he goes out or letting up completely and risking him faking going out and getting a big play it's almost a no win. Blast his cheap ass.

It is a little weird to have to win 3 consecutive games against teams with superior QBs to Hurts.  That's a big ask of Howie and even Siriani to put a team together that consistently does that.  But it sure looks like they can do it.

I really don’t get how anyone could think Jordan Love is good

Maliata needs to just take a run at this cheap mofo and put him down.

Luvu has that 49er head-hunting vibe.

It’s one thing to flop after a play when there is jawing and shoving.  Thats not a football play…it’s after the whistle and a little comedic.

Trying to draw a foul along the sidelines and flopping when pushed out…taking advantage of rules trying to protect players and making the game less watchable.  It obviously struck a cord with Aikman that he was willing to call out the biggest superstar in the sport on national tv.

They need to take a page from soccer and have a "simulation” penalty, where faking or exaggerating a foul gets YOU penalized.

The forecast is one of those ones that just keeps changing.  45 mins ago it was 4-6 and now back to 1-3.  I'm looking at The Weather Channel.

I love the NFL, but the Refs rigging the games every week so Mahomes and the Chiefs can win thing is getting really really old. I mean they aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

I have a really bad feeling we are going to be battling the refs too. LA is a huge market and the wildfires makes for a compelling story. The NFL wants a Chiefs Rams superbowl. Our birds need to be really really good today.

Sorry, but Jordan Love has done nothing to prove he’s a better QB.  If you’re talking about from just a pure arm talent perspective, then maybe. But how good a quarterback actually is goes way beyond that

Talking about the next 3 games.

Yessss

Because Philly is right on that border. It seems like it'll be heavier and more north and west of Philly.

So here on the other side of the Appalachians, it's coming down and it's slick.  If this makes its way to Philly it's going to be a slopfest.

Today more than ever we need our massive OL to overpower the DL.

We're gonna need Jordan Davis to be an immovable object.  Secondary must tackle well today.

Yeah, that's a good point

OK, my bad… But I still think it’s too early to say Jayden Daniels is next coming. His ceiling is certainly higher, but he lacks experience this season.  I don’t think it’s going to be too difficult for Fangio to show him something that he’s never seen before.

I’d also argued that I’d rather have Hurts than Stafford for this particular game in the elements

but let’s get to that game first

I hate luvu, he’s a real dirty player and seems to go unpunished.

A key for sure.  Stafford will try to throw short passes to Kupp and Puka all day long and it will be huge difference between 3-4 and 7-8 yard gains.
