Hurts made several mistakes, but we don't have to pretend he didn't hit AJ right in the hands for a TD right before half.

AJ also alligator armed another pass that was on target, and then Smitty got the targeting call on another deep completion.  The Hurts stuff is waaaay over the top as usual.

He's not going to come out like Stafford, throwing 30 yard darts off his back foot. But he's a capable passer and the coaches need to work on helping him get the ball out quickly.

The coaches also need to get a better feel for the game.  Gainwell and Smitty both looked unaffected by the snow, not many touches.  Kept running to the inside when it's a damn snow storm, get to the outside and away from the mass of bodies stuck in the snow.

Starting tomorrow when we get Hurts out of our systems can we talk some Kellen Moore? Cause I mean ….

There is only one goal for a game manager and that is to win the game.  He does that pretty well.

That's the same goal a horrible QB has. So I guess hurts fits the bill of one of them too. Having a goal of winning did not make one a decent game manager.  Hurts is not a game manager.  We wish he could be.  He's not at that level.

The Lions will likely lose both coordinators.

Hiring their successors will be a decent process comparison to our situation two years ago.

That is not the same as not being able to move.

Rib injuries can be extremely painful, especially when you continue to get hit and he was injured long before Hurts

Please elaborate.

Before you start, however, please acknowledge that Hurts changes the play often based on what he thinks he sees.

Also, Moore calls plays based on what he expects to see from the defense.  The other team is trying as well.  Not all failed plays are our fault.

Definitely. I'm sure he's really hurting today too. But you can shoot that up and still play at a normal level.

Stafford is one of the toughest QBs this century too. I get the retirement talk.

They are going to get some 3rd rounders for Aaron Glenn too. They need to use them wisely.

the 2nd down pass call (that resulted in a bad sack) on the eagles' final drive was baffling. they had nothing going in the passing game & were trying to run out the clock & they call that?  i was screaming at my tv.

Right, so let's stop pretending only Hurts was dealing with an injury and bad weather 👍

I'll move on from Hurts to why does anyone like this guy and why is he getting premium access to the team?

You mention drops for Hurts but not Stafford. So dishonest.

Pretty sure I remember a couple drops by the Rams BUT I also remember three great catches far downfield.  For example, I remember a twisting Nacua leaping along the sideline to make a far tougher catch than the one Brown dropped.

Stafford being great doesn't take him out of the elements. He was playing on the same field, in the same snow and with the same ball that Hurts was. I was just seeing a trend of posts saying that Hurts grade should change because of the snow. No, it shouldn't. No one is saying Stafford's near INTs were because of the snow.

Huh? Yes, they absolutely were. Again, look at the total number of drops and fumbles in both games yesterday. Would you say that was a typical amount of drops or fumbles or an atypical amount?

Yup. I don’t know if it was Moore who called it or hurts changed the play but either way was the dumbest play call of the entire afternoon for so many reasons.

I want Baun, Williams and Becton all back. Wouldn't mind Sweat back either but I'd assume he's the odd man out. Even Becton may not be feasible to bring back if someone offers big dough, and let's be honest, someone will. The damn Commanders have 100 mil in cap space for example. Huff has to go, not sure if you save anything with him being gone or not.

Definitely edge as a priority in the draft. If Becton leaves, then that also needs to be addressed. We need to continue with high quality blue chip o-line play. I'm not going to be happy with just "getting by" with Steen. Nope, that's not good enough. Steen is excellent depth, and it should stay that way.

Also going to need to find some kryptonite to Daniels. More fast, instinctive, high football iQ, sound tackling, back 7 players. There's some really nice safeties in this draft. Another important cog in Fangios system and that can help mitigate Daniels.

Give me Baun and Williams. Let Becton and Sweat can walk. Draft an edge early and guard depth in the middle rounds.

I suggest not watching to or listening to any national sports shows this week. It's going to be a bunch of naked men jackin each other off about Daniels all week.

But I hope they do it, because frankly, that line of only -5 is total disrespect to the Eagles and I want them pissed off and angry going into that game.

Most underrated play of the game was Rodgers' nifty spin move after scooping the fumble and allowed him to break off a big run. Without that Eagles may have not gotten that FG.

(Should have been a TD, costly false start there)

Been a huge Isiah fan since they picked him up. I talked some stuff when emotions were high and he got that INT ripped away but he really did give them a good game. That scoop and return was a huge moment in the game.

Uhh...not everything is binary.

And Jalen doesn't suck.  He's limited as a passer.  Some by his own traits and some by the conservative nature of this team.

He has played better.  He can lead us to a championship.  But his is not playing well lately.

What's worse is, where are the quick slants that are always so successful? The quick passes in general. Even Dotson can make those plays never mind our top two. What are Moore & Siri doing? Horrible

Stafford is a better passer than Hurts. I don’t think you’ll get a lot of arguments there.

He was also behind by two TDs when he put up a lot of those yards. That's a situation where you take chances and puff your stats.

Hurts was ahead, with a power running game and a top defense, his first priority in those conditions was don't turn the ball over.

Because they had run two successful bootlegs earlier in the second half right after the Stafford fumble.

He doesn't turn the ball over because he won't turn the ball over.  The Eagles don't throw for first down yardage on third and long...ever.  They don't get the ball out quickly to hot reads against the blitz.  They don't throw into WR breaks before they are open.  Hurts just takes sacks on these plays.

It's nearly impossible to throw INTs when that is how the passing offense is run.

This is just silly.....Jalen is one of the highest rated QB's against the Blitz.....and if I recall, didn't they get the ball out quickly vs. the blitz to Saquan on that 3rd and like 19??

Makes some sense.  But a safety is a turnover.  I don't care what the stats say.  You are giving the other team two points and the ball which is worse than a real turnover.  And that safety was on Hurts as was most of the endlessly holding the ball for sacks.

Moore called that play, he needs some responsibility there.

Could be even worse for them because Ben Johnson might be a huge piece of their success. I’ll be interested to see how they look when he becomes a head coach.
