Redskins losing their best offensive lineman Cosmi is gonna be a problem. Carter will be eatin. Think Jayden comes back to earth this week. He has the microscope on him now on the big stage. He's a rookie and will take his lumps at last. Think he fares okay, but not enough to carry you over the top. Redskins, your time is up!

I think Jaden won't sweat it at all.  He is good.  But, if he has no escape route under pressure he will throw interceptions.  We must cut off his running lanes on passing plays.

I'm guessing if Q had an extra 3-4 picks he would have been right there.  No worries though, he's had an exceptional season and is the best rookie CB we've likely ever had (in terms of first year performance)  If I remember correctly, Lito Sheppard was really good (and became an pro bowler here)  but I don't think he played as much or at the level Q has played during his rookie year.

If Cooper DeJean continues to shine, this draft class could become our "Lito Sheppard & Sheldon Brown" draft class of this era.  The future looks bright at CB.

They’re better than Lito and Sheldon already.  I liked them both but Mitchell and DeJean are both sticky in coverage. Sheldon wasn’t even close to either of them in coverage.  They’re on another planet, especially in today’s NFL.

Hurts passing yards in his four playoff wins:

121

128

131

154

Whereas by far one of the best individual games of his career with 300+ passing yards and 70 rushing yards to go along with 4 TDs was a loss.

Maybe we should all be content with winning and average at best games from our QB and it carries us all the way to a SB

Who's critical turnover was a major contributor to that loss?

For those that go to the games, have they been playing Dreams and Nightmares during the game or pre-game at all? If they haven't, can you imagine if they play it all of the sudden as the team comes on the field? Maybe it belongs with the 2017 team or maybe it's a big game Eagles thing.

I think Burks actually fits well into scheming against him with his quickness.

Would've easily been the super bowl MVP if we won the game.

I didn’t notice it yesterday unless if I wasn’t paying attention or missed it. A lot of DMX though.

One thing I don't want to see against the Commies is Carter and crew being buddy buddy again with Jayden Daniels. When you get a good shot on him, hit him hard and let him sit in it. No helping him off the ground. It was annoying seeing that last game against them. It pissed me off when they continued to do it after Luvu knocked Hurts out the game and started putting on a beating on Pickett. They looked like chumps out there for that.

I hope so.  Sweat and Smith are going to have to be disciplined.   Can't be going past the QB nor too far inside on their rushes.  Gonna have to stay contained and let the DTs flush him to them.

Crowd would lose their minds if they played it.

This is what worries me about next week. Commanders will go for it on any 4th and relatively short (say 4 or under) from around the halfway line onwards. And Daniels is incredibly good at being successful on those plays.

The trick to beating them is either stopping their drives before they get going i.e. on their half or keeping them out of 4th and manageable situations e.g. we cant let them pick up 5 or 6 yards in 3rd and 8 situations. We did this really well in the first game agaisnt them.

Fangio will be analyzing all of those 4th down plays through the season and have time to work on formations to counteract them.  It's a positive that they've played WASH twice already this season -- Daniels shouldn't present anything the Eagles haven't already seen.  The Commanders' coaches aren't likely to overload him with a bunch of new concepts this late.

Daniels has had an excellent rookie season and he's a very good QB, but not a great QB yet.  He was 16th in yards passing, T10th in passing TDs, 6th in completion %.  He was also sacked 47 times which was the 6th most in the NFL this season.  He threw 3 INT in the two games vs the Eagles, so he will give the ball away at times.

The opponent gambling constantly on 4th down is great -- if you stop them.

Moore was right. The play worked perfectly. It’s not like Hurts is incapable of making that play. He just didn’t do it because he choked on the football.

Incapable vs. unwilling.  He's very rarely gone for a crossing route like the one Goedert ran so quickly.   Usually the receiver has to cross the middle of the field and have to be on the other 1/3 of the field.

Look at the replay.  Dickerson and Jurgens miscommunicate on the protection.  Hurts still had 3+ seconds, though.  Ball has to come out.

Yes.   Hence the concern with the play call... and the execution.

Problem is the DE FA pool isn’t great. And I don’t think we’re matching what others will pay Milton

Re-sign Sweat, cut Huff, bring in Koonce, draft a DE in the 1st or 2nd

Carter Davis Hargrave Ojomo

Nolan Koonce Sweat Hunt Rookie

edit: looking at that lineup we might as well keep Huff

I dont think Huff can really be cut given cap implications even as a post June-1. A trade could be feasible though.

Re. free agents - I have a sneaky feeling they may go after Khalil Mack who will want to cement his legacy with a legit contender. He is a free agent and has history with Fangio. Can dobule up in that vetran leader (Graham) and take a lot of Sweat's snaps next year. Then you have Hunt, highly drafted rookie and Huff rounding out the group. The rookie and Huff compete for playing time as the 4th guy in rotation.

You mean besides winning a s-ton of games?  My, that is irrational.  And I don't even think he is a great QB.  Middle of the road passing talent, top end winning talent.

Yes.  Stating the teams W-L record is disingenuous and lacking context. It's not Jalen winning,  he's being dragged along.

They need to maybe implement an end around or something to get the ball in AJ’s hands early

You probably need to implement a reach around in your relationship with Bruce if you want things to progress smoothly.

Welcome to the brain drain, Detroit. About time they started losing some coordinators.

Yeah…how ‘bout it.  I don’t think Dan Campbell realizes how lucky he was to get them back for this year.

Man. That's really reaching. When Bradberry & Siposs effed it up late. And the defense was slipping all over that field. Hurts turnover happened way before anything was determined and only tied the game when it happened. He just about pitched a perfect game. A late crappy call by ref took it out of his hands for an epic comeback and gave Mahomes another gift. That Superbowl will always sting. Hard to watch any replays of it. A win this year, especially against the Chiefs, will take that bitter taste out of mouth. Still have it....ha.
