If he's being dragged along and sucks, how come Eagles couldn't hold a nice lead when he left the game vs. Commies and went in the tank? That game probably isn't even close with Hurts in the game. Can't they drag Pickett too?

bunch of things...

1. Hurts has strung together a few consecutive good drives together many times before, and then proceeded to suck the rest of the game. He may well have stayed in the Washington game and ended up losing. Just because he started ok doesnt mean he would finish OK. We have seen that many times.

2. Jalen Hurts has had a bad year, but there have been ups and downs. He has had better gams than the last 2 that he just played. He may have had a better game against Washington, and the team may have won. That doesnt mean he was going to play great, or even good. He may have just been ok. Doesnt mean he isnt still the anchor holding this team back from greater success. We are pretty much at an all time low for Hurts performances these last 2 games. I thought for sure he was going to bounce back after last week but he only got worse.

3. Pickett had no practice that week. He started slow and improved a bit as the game went on. With a week of practice as the starter, he looked better. He may well have been good enough to win the game if he wasnt coming in cold. Doesnt mean Hurts is any good.

This is pretty accurate for a lot of people in here

I respectfully disagree.  The situation for "a lot of people in here" right now is that the journey is still being written ... and Philadelphians have gotten used to detours cropping up and the disappointment that comes with those detours.  So uncertainty reigns ... as does pessimism ... currently.  Remove the uncertainty and there will be a whole lot of satisfaction.

Alright, real talk for a second.  Hurts haters, set it aside.  Hurts humpers, set it aside,

1.  Hurts haters accept that a Jalen Hurts healthy to play but not healthy enough to run is still going to get the start.

2.  Hurts humpers accept that it is very difficult to win an NFL football game against anyone with a Jalen Hurts that cannot run.

So how do we get around that?

1. Pray that he can run.

2.  Howie needs to get involved.  Siri doesn’t have the mandate.  They need to have a quick hook.  For the humpers, it’s more about the injury than anything else, not "benching.”  But they need an honest and constant evaluation of whether or not he’s viable with that knee.  They can beat the Commanders with a backup qb if they have to.  They can’t do it with a 50% Hurts.

You can always tell who doesn't know ball when complaining about the ball placement of a back shoulder fade to AJ.

Probably because they rarely see Jalen make that play, and other QBs put a tad more zip on it, so they don't know what they're seeing.

Anything that doesn't fit your narrative is disingenuous.  Stats, win-loss, turnovers, rushing #'s.  What else matters in football?

HE's Hurts world view: Hurts is 49-27-1, but has had nothing positive to do with any of the victories.  Never scored a big TD, never got crucial first downs, never made crucial passes, never had two WR with 1000+ yards in 2 of his 4 seasons as a starter,  never did anything except live off the accomplishments of others.  Just a parasite of a QB.

Youre basically continuing to prove my point about the disingenuousness. Go on...

If Carson Wentz was an Eagle, threw for 120 yards, took 7 sacks and a safety, I bet the people defending Hurts wouldn't be doing the same for him.

If he was still an Eagle they would be. I mean they did. People already forget the Wentz discourse back then was the same exact as it is now with Hurts. I remember when Wentz clearly was mediocre as b QB in 2019 and really since he came back in 2018, and people still claimed he was elite in 2019 and the takes were "You guys are ingrates he threw for 4,000 yards with crap receivers, what more do you want????”

I personally dont rate Eli Ricks but I disagree and here is why.

Assuming this only for the SB right, it has to be someone who would be inactive on gameday anyway. Yes Ricks qualifies on that basis but so do 3 OL (Keegan, Gates and Kinnard). Next the filter is who is least likely to be back next year / get claimed. They wont want to risk a young player who they want back in camp next year just to see how they have grown. Thats why I have Gates above Keegan, Kinnard, Ricks. Its all about a view to 2026 and least risk option is Gates.

Fair enough, but it will be a very last minute transaction if it happens.  Gates is the insurance Center.

The lack of hype for the National Championship Game is alarming. Is there too much time between all the bowl games? Bowl season in general seemed to lack much hype. I guess it's just a different college football world. The BCS bowl season seemed to be much more exciting.

It coincides with the NFL playoffs. The NFL will always reign supreme.

Also - it’s a freakin Monday night. Would rather have it Saturday night. Do the NFL games at 1 and 4:30.

But wtf do I know.

Slay gets it

I forgot it was even tonight.  🤷‍♂️. Something wrong with NCAA season dragging on nearly 3 full weeks past New Year's!

Saquon out here making history and yaw still crying about a winning QB 😂 Bunch of weirdos.

I didn’t realize what I was dealing with here. Do you see the headline below on ESPN?  It mistakenly callls Jalen Carter "Jevon Carter.”  I understand his name isn’t "Jevon Carter” and it pisses me off that the best DT in football gets a little disrespected.

A lot of the Twitter/X Eagles fan base is the worst. There’s a big echo chamber on there that views the 2010 Vick team as the best team to not win a Super Bowl. Maybe it’s an age thing or a social media thing where every win has to have your QB throw for 400 yards and 4 TDs. You see it more with NBA fans and "ring culture”.

I hope they win a Super Bowl with Hurts averaging 130 yards passing. 1. Because the discourse on Hurts would be hilarious, 2. It means that Saquon probably puts together the best full season for a RB in NFL history, and 3. It means that the defense beat the piss out of their next two opponents.

Today on the Dan Patrick Show, Dan highlighted the difference between the four winners this weekend and the four losers ... all four winners had no turnovers. He believes, and I agree that there is a lesson there.

Having his name misspelled is absolutely the highest level of respect to be garnered on the EMB.  And if the EMB is a microcosm of the real world, how much more when ESPN does it?!
