I hope he does well but I think Glenn is a bit overrated as a DC to be honest. I know he seemed to work miracles until all the injuries caught up with him, but I also think the talent on that defense masked quite a few mistakes on his part.

This. They have a lot of talent on that side of the ball, even injured. He just ran a terrible scheme. If they get a solid d coor who can run a scheme that compliments their strengths, they will flip that defense like we did here

Commanders prolly gonna be the toughest matchup so far in the postseason, the division rival factor and all that and the fact that the defense doesn't seem to do well against QB runs (geriatric ass Stafford nearly ran for a first down on them).  Was hoping to avoid them but it is what it is.

I suspect that Fangio looked at Stafford’s running stats for the season and drew up a game plan that did not devote resources to containing QB runs.  The probabilities supported that.  Stafford ran once successfully.  Was there more than one, or was that the only one?

I'm curious what stats make Hurts better than Dak?

So you and TEW are pretty close here in opinion.  You have Hurts tied with 3 guys for 12th... TEW has at least one of the guys you think is tied ahead of Hurts.  Where's the big disagreement?

Btw, after a quick recount, you listed 12 ahead of Hurts with the "arguably is"...

Daniels, Mayfield, Goff and Stafford - NFC

Allen, Maye, Stroud, Jackson, Burrow, Mahomes, Herbert, Nix - AFC

Seems you agree or can understand the argument to list Hurts no higher than 13, and as low as 16  So you don't have much disagreement with TEW at all.

I didn’t say I disagreed.  I said let’s get real … drilling down a level.

I figured it would frame the conversation differently.

It's the Jets. He won't.

One ring to rule them all

It's this kind of stuff that worries me with Burks. Runs himself right into the LG when the path to the QB is as wide open as it can get. Also, throws like this are the reason why I keep saying Stafford is the best in the conference.

Had a feeling it would be playoff wins since Dak has a bunch of better player stats

Funny that context only matters when you all want it to

That particular game, no, but the last game against the Commanders they couldn't contain JD.  The game against the Ravens Jackson could've run for huge gains multiple times with the space he was given (but luckily he didn't), it's been an ongoing issue.

The social media film guys have been crushing the Eagles passing schemes again today. Goes without saying Hurts missed some throws too.

The phrase "let's get real" has a meaning, and it doesn't quite follow your usage.   But that's fine, framing the conversation that way implies you didn't agree.   🤷‍♂️

How many reporters are posted outside of Brick's school trying to get confirmation on this??

I think Hurts’ arm strength is satisfactory. The issue is, and always has been, his processing abilities or lack there of. It’s one read and then run or freeze.

It drives me nuts when he gets 3 to 4 seconds in the pocket and doesn't make a throw or decision.  Then he starts looking all around and run away while defenders are closing in on him.

His decision making sucks.  It's what cost us the safety vs the Rams.

Is it context when it literally is a team stat?

The problem with wins or winning percentage as a QB stat is it never goes both ways. If they win, the QB gets all the credit. If they lose, it rarely does unless it's a blatantly bad QB game. It's "Saqoun dropped it, the QB did enough to win" or "Smith dropped it, the QB was fine". Even during Super Bowl 57, Hurts gets knocked for the fumble, but the overwhelming opinion is he did enough to win, it's the defenses fault. It's very inconsistent.

Win/loss record for quarterbacks is a stat that is never going away.  Major sites like pro football reference, even have a column referencing starting quarterback winning percentage.  You do not have to agree with it, but it is what it is.

Agreed, you can use passer rating, yards per attempt, TD/INT ratio, almost anything else instead. Those are all better when trying to assess QB performance.

He does do that a lot. But think he's been drilled into not throwing interceptions at this point. Ball security is emphasis number one here. When you see some of the panicked and errant throws that Love, Darnold & Lamar have made in the last few weeks, I just rather him eat it and live for another play. You're not always going to be able to throw it away with out risk of intentional grounding, taking a bigger hit than necessary or turning it over. We may not be able to have our cake and eat it too. I've come to accept that as long as he has 0 turnovers in a game then it's okay. That's the huge stat here for him.
