I have to figure they will be better with a week to get the backup ready, but still feel like this will be huge. Hopefully we can get pressure without blitzing since Daniels has killed the blitz. Detroit had no choice given their injuries on the line -- they had to blitz. We should let Carter/Williams/Smith feast.

I'm hoping he's mostly referring to the "nonsense Twitter haters" out there - from what I recall, most of the Philly media has spoken highly of him.

Spike Eskin is just so negative every day

You missed the part where he was referred to as "disgraced gambler" or something like that in an article.

Yeah, it was a "click bait" headline -  basically making fun of the fact that people would call him a "disgraced gambler".  The entire article praised him.

I try not to be a homer with awards but the PFWA gave Brad Holmes the executive of the year award. He basically added two good players to the roster in Carlton Davis and Z’darius Smith. It’s a joke that he would beat out Roseman.

I feel like we get snubbed for a lot of awards. Ie. Doug should’ve won COY over mcvay the year we won the Super Bowl.

Great news.

Another factor to consider is the Redskins really started to have their success on offense after CJGJ was rejected.  We will have CJGJ for this game.

Also I felt like during the game that the defense just wasn't really all that focused going into the game and during.  They never took the Redskins all that seriously but that should be different heading into this one.

I do wonder if we will try to use a spy this game for Daniels since the use of his legs in the second game was a big difference from the first.

This must have made him very sad.  Bouncing back from rejection can also be the catapult to success as long as he bounces back.

Yeah wish he was more like you

Now John Clark is saying Goedert will probably practice, but Jurgens might not. So we'll see.

Dirty bunch of SOBs. Someone needs to take a run at Daniels. That needs to be all over the Eagles locker room.

How is it dirty? He's literally saying what everyone does. If the QB is running then it's fair game to hit him

You probably shouldn’t have shared with every woman you met that you were into having your nipples being sandpapered. That would have at least prolonged your rejections

It's also notable that most of the big pass plays were Stafford throwing 50/50 balls and the Rams coming down with them. The 48 yarder to Robinson on the last play of the 1st half should have been picked by Rodgers, but he didn't snatch the ball. The 30 yarded to Kupp Rodgers was right there and just missed the PBU. And the 37 yarder to Nacua on the last drive -- Slay jumped early but should have been picked (watching live I was convinced Slay was going to pick it). Plus Slay and Coop dropped easy picks as well.

The Rams came down with some insane catches, and Stafford threw some amazing passes.  On that first drive, his no look bullet on 3rd down along with his TD pass were both thrown into very tiny windows.  Even though Isaiah Rodgers didn't finish a few plays in coverage, the positive I took out of it was that he was right there to make the play.  Everyone was for the most part.  Jayden Daniels is gonna have to throw extremely accurate against this secondary.  They are so sticky in coverage, and I love it!

Confirmed that Goedert is practicing, Jurgens isn't.

But I have to sandpaper them.  They're so pointy and sharp, I'll break skin if I bump into someone.  This one time at the grocery store...............nm you get the picture.

Yes, that's the way I see it too.

Revisiting the second game, I note that we completely stoned their running game, except for Daniels. Fifteen carries for 32 yards. Nine for 81 from Daniels, mostly on scrambles.

I expect we'll play a lot of zone. I do not expect us to use a spy against Daniels but I do think we'll do a lot of hard rush by three DL and one guy playing soft, not quite spying but reading and covering any gap that opens up between DT and DE. Or showing a five-man front and dropping a guy out. We'll look to isolate Carter on their RG and they'll look to help him out; that alone should be fascinating. Definitely going with two high safeties and Washington will try to pop a run or two early to get us out of that. Washington will try to spread us out and attack the light box, run RPOs at Baun, wide receiver screens to Zaccheus and McLaurin, especially if Rogers is in at LCB.

The two high is key to allow outside leverage on McLaurin.  THAT is a big reason why Q was able to shut him down game 1.  Blitzing killed us game 2.  Absolutely killed us.  JD tore it up w 3 TD/1 INT.

You just like saying "sticky."

Apparently the gif that has been going around guessing that Saquon was telling Hurts, "I got this". before his huge run..well...he might have actually  been saying, "I think I'm supposed to be on the other side"....

Given the results...either "comment" would be legendary....

Goedert stretched for a bit then went off to the side. Still not overly alarmed about both. You figure if Sirianni thought they would practice the issues aren't overly serious. It's really cold out so could just be caution, we'll see.

The thing is - most QB's, especially Hurts  (when they run) tend to slide or go out of bounds - making "hitting them like a RB" a dirty or illegal hit.  So no, when most QB's run, they really aren't "just like a RB" because 90%+ of the time they give themselves up much sooner than a RB would.

Based on EPA/Play, Detroit had a bottom-five defense over the last 6 games of the regular season.

So Goedert isn't practicing and Jurgens isn't there at all

That's kinda concerning. If Jurgens is expected to play you'd think everyone else would be at their normal spots
