Other than a very few fans, I remember the vast majority of fans seemed really happy with Foles returning.  Either way - free agent or "brought back" Foles had the single best run of any Philadelphia Eagle in history.  That isn't even a question, imo.

You are correct.  Very undervalued run in Eagles history.

Newest Eagles fan came this morning at 4am…I’m tired AF.  I’ll make sure to post some photos this weekend of her in her baby Eagles gear!  Despite my sleep deprived wishes, she is not named Saquon and

Based on EPA/Play, Detroit had a bottom-five defense over the last 6 games of the regular season.

Perhaps so, but we had the #1 defense and Daniels tore us up.

I think we'll win but I expect a heart attack or two along the way.

I've noticed this on a lot of clear outs where it's obvious a receiver isn't part of the early progression. In zone, the underneath defenders see it too on occasion and peel off earlier than you'd like to see.

Our first game vs. the Commanders is on NFL Network.

The Eagles are so much better, if they just take easy check downs and not play horrible defense, theyre about to ruin this f'ing Commanders team.

There's a snowballs chance in hell of Kingsbury out coaching Fangio.  It's all about the Eagles executing on offense. They should be chomping at the bit to play this game.

Don't forget, Kenny Pickett threw a pick on the Eagles 25 yard line and the defense proceeded to get 2 penalties and essentially made it 1st and goal at the 6 where they obviously scored quickly. Special teams was awful that week, constantly gave washington good field position. The defense had 2, 12 man penalties, both led to TDs for washington.

The Eagles will be sharper and more focused. I expect them to handle business, and don't think the game will be particularly close.

He's moving well.

How is it dirty? He's literally saying what everyone does. If the QB is running then it's fair game to hit him

If I have to explain that after they took out Hurts

Considering Hurts either slides, goes out of bounds or scores on the vast majority of his runs - is he implying they are going to hit him illegally?

I take it that way after the last game and the hit last week. If someone said that about Mahomes they would already be throwing flags.

I like the intensity Brown brings but he still plays way too out of control. He was the main instigator in the Cowboys fight and even last week while he made a great tackle on ST's I was just waiting for the flags to come out for Unsportsmanlike Conduct. He needs to keep the juice but turn down the stupidity a notch or two. Last thing Eagles need is him flying at Daniels head and giving them a free 15 yards.

Unless he knocks him out of the game.

and then Super Mariota is in the Super Bowl

Never root for injuries but It would be hilarious if maybe Daniels got a sprained wrist or something and had to exit in the first half, just so we could all pretend like it never happened after the game.

You missed the part where he was referred to as "disgraced gambler" or something like that in an article.

Yea, it was 100% a Marcus Hayes headline and then the story had nothing to do with it. Just Hayes being a giant POS.

Sure would be nice to have a real WR coach

I keep looking back at the Zaccheaus 49-yard TD.

If we just had made them get those 49 yards using 4 or 5 plays instead of one, there wouldn't have been enough time left for their final drive.

The whole game was so random - injuries, turnovers, ejections, penalties.  It's impossible to draw any conclusions.

Well yes because once they're running they literally are treated like a RB. It's fair game to hit them in a legal way

Daniels leaves himself open to some big hits; he hasn't mastered getting down or out of bounds yet.  He's not nearly as bad as RG III, but there are some opportunities there to hit him

Well, we can see it differently. I just don't like that comment after his guy has been taking cheap shots.

Sound about right. I want to win but also understand I’m probably losing some years off my life

btw - Next time you're in there ask Bob about Dick Vermeil.  Bob talks to Vermeil regularly.

I know. I let Bob bring him up.  Got to play it cool, man.

Time to be concerned? They also signed a 32 year old vet to the PS, not some guy who will develop.

Very funny correction by Hurts.

Like the proverbial scorpion, it's his nature.

At first I thought they were just holding out Cam because of how cold it is and didn't want his back to tighten up, like they did with DeVonta Smith. But I'm not really sure why they would have Dickerson taking the center reps unless they want him to be ready.

They don't practice at all on Tuesdays, right? Jurgens back issue has to be from Sunday?

Putting aside the issues of Hurts' concussion and CJGJ being ejected for saying mean things, the loss was really a function of 2 things -- the Eagles failure to score TDs instead of FGs in the 2nd half, and the Commanders hitting big plays against a defense that almost never gets beat for explosive plays. Washington's 1st TD came right after Pickett's INT on a short field. Their 2nd TD was a 96 yard drive where 2 plays covered 83 yards -- the 1st play of the drive was a 51 yarded to Dyami Brown on Slay, and the TD was a 32 yarded to McLaurin on Q; the other 6 plays covered 13 yards (2.2 average). So it's 21-14 at halftime, and then we have 2 long drives in the 3rd quarter that both stall and end in FGs -- we blow a 3rd and 3 at the Washington 4 with the wildcat play to Barkley that loses 2 yards, and then Pickett gets sacked on 3rd and 8 from the 11. So 2 drives inside the 15 yard line, 11:30 minutes off the game clock and only 6 points.

The next Washington drive was the first without GJGJ, and it is kept alive by a Daniels 29 yard scramble on 4th and 11 and ends with a short TD throw. The next Washington TD drive ends with the 49 yard TD because the defense was confused (Slay out/in, Ringo in, 12 men on the field) to give them a 28-27 lead. After we kick a FG (Jake hits a 50 yarded), we get the INT that should have ended the game from Reed. But we run 3 plays, the last of which is Smitty's drop, and settle for ANOTHER short FG. And Daniels ends it with a TD drive.

So, really the issue on defense was very uncharacteristically giving up big plays. 2 big passing plays on their 2nd TD drive, one on Slay and one on Q. Giving up a 4th and 11 on a QB scramble. Giving up a huge TD on a blown coverage. We haven't done that ALL YEAR, but it happened multiple times in this game. Stafford hit some down field shots on us, but they were great/risky throws (Rodgers near pick, Rodgers on Kupp that should have been batted down, Coop neat pick, Slay on last drive with mistimed jump). So long as the defense goes back to keeping everything in front of them and avoids the chunk plays, we should be OK.

I have a similar pass rush take. Consistently rush four with the two Edges focusing on contain, especially on the gap between themselves and the DT on their side, and the two DTs putting heavy duty pressure on the pocket, collapsing it from front to back, squeezing Daniels and having the Edges positioned to cut off his avenues of escape.

Yes, please.
