Colston Loveland to the Eagles feels like a draft lock in April.

I think he is off the board before we pick.

We all know Howie likes to trade up when he wants someone.  Historically, the Eagles have never left TE to chance, going after blue chip prospects and doing so when their starter still had a couple years left.  Goedert's availability crisis, the lack of a viable FA option, and their unwillingness to entrust the position to a random mid-round pick means Howie may be willing to trade up in round 1 for the #2 TE on the board who won't go too far in front of their pick.

Me before release: Well, I guess it can't be any freakier than the last one.

Me after release: I stand corrected.

I want to stir the Jalen Hurts pot for a minute here.

We all know there is a faction where he can do no right.  There is a faction where he can do no wrong.  I have a bone to pick with the moderates here.  And this happens to be the group that most aligns with national media and fans.  This group keeps saying they have concerns about the viability and performance of the "Eagles' passing game."

The *Eagles' passing game* features the best OL in the NFL.  The Eagles' passing game features a WR duo that, prior to this season, anyone around here would argue was the best in the entire NFL.  The Eagles' passing game features a TE that, while injury prone, most around here would argue is elite when he plays.  The Eagles' passing game traded a 3rd round pick for a 1st round pick WR that had more than double his current production in each of his first two NFL seasons.

So when discussing all these concerns with "the Eagles' passing game," why is everyone in this group so afraid to use Jalen Hurts' name?  Are we trying to insinuate that the problem is our OT's?  Or AJ Brown not being a true #1?  Or Devonta is more of a depth WR that shouldn't be starting?

The personnel is good, but the playcaller sucks. That's the problem. Even great QBs struggle with that. So a good QB like Jalen definitely will.

Tampa's feelings are hurt BAD.

Jurgens not playing would be a big blow to the run game.

Does Kellen Moore need to call the magic plays that get receivers so wide open that even I can make the throw for Jalen to have consistent success? Because that's what it takes for Hurts to succeed in the passing game. That, and his first read being wide open.

It would change some things they can do but theyd find a way. Thats a group of maulers still with a lot of athleticism.

Im only worried about a bad snap leading to a turnover.

yes. we have to delete all semi-advanced concepts and still make sure everyone is wide open immediately off the snap.

I guess it's just me that's embarrassed by it

And also kind of disappointed by the team for doing it

Liam Cohen is doing the reverse Josh McDaniels and it’s still a scumbag move

I’d guess it’s going to their autism foundation and they aren’t pocketing it

Why does every single national analyst (and lots of local ones) feel more confident labeling this team's preeminent liability as "the passing game"???

This is the elephant in the room that isn’t really an elephant anymore, because intelligent football fans discuss a topic like this. However, we’re not supposed to discuss it here bc of Hurt’s W-L record, since he’s willed the team to win on his own for all these years and not the other way around.  It’s always a new excuse - playcalling, turnovers from the OC position every year, it wasn’t his fault at all that the team went on a downward spiral last season, the running game is why he can’t throw for even 3000 yards in a season.

I do honestly think that we can become the 1st (or 2nd if you want to include Seattle and the legion of boom) to win the SB with almost no passing game, a dominant run game, and an elite defense since the illegal contact changes.  I am pretty certain at this point that’s our best shot.
