Is Chris Jones really that much better than Carter?

I don’t know how to think about Dickerson starting at C. He outweighs Jurgens by like 50 lbs, doesn’t move like him. Steen next to Mailata doesn’t have the same kind of push or chemistry on those combo blocks.

That said, Steen at LG and Dickerson at C is almost definitely better than Dickerson at LG and Nick Gates at C. Just can’t imagine it not making making the offense different.

Correct, so it doesn't matter that Steen next to Mailata isn't the same as Dickerson.  Because they can't go with Gates unless there's no other option.

Every guy under 25 in the DMV grew up a Ravens fan because they actually won and had star players who were entertaining.

The skins fans that still exist were basically forced into it by sadistic parents.

Or, heartbroken parents when the Colts franchise skipped town in the middle of the night.

Isn’t he calling the game? I thought announcers aren’t supposed to make picks of games they’re calling

He basically just offered an obvious hypothetical…if the Eagles play well, they’re moving on.  Well, duh

He's definitely better, but PFF grades are arbitrary.

Cam injury is a little worrying. Back is not a good problem to have. (Obviously)

Carter only at 77?

I guess the divisional game hurt Mitchell's numbers?

So what’s the point of Gates being on the team all year?

I like PFF grades, but they only tell part of the story. I would expect Jones to be better simply because he's an established vet with much more experience than Carter. Even Carter knows he's made mistakes each week and said to reporters even after seemingly good games that he played like crap. 77.2 is a very good grade --- especially for a season. Jones grade is higher because he's polished player that has the savvy to always know what to do. Carter will get there, Jones has been in the NFL 7 more seasons and is already a 6 time all-pro. There's no shame in Carter's grade or being graded behind Jones.

Chris Jones was also double teamed 70% of his snaps all year and still had the highest rush win rate percentage of all DT’s (16%). Carter isn’t even listed so I’m assuming he was 9% rush win rate or lower for the year.

I just abbreviated your post… And I sort of agree. But I only agree because the grading is subjective. or at least I assume it is… Somebody correct me if I’m wrong if they know better.

Mahomes will always get the benefit of the doubt and higher grades because he’s Mahomes. But if a second year, much lesser known player, has the exact same game as Mahomes, something tells me he comes out with a far worse grade.

At the end of the day, how do they really grade these players?  I would think it’s subjective and human beings that work for PFF are assigned to certain games and certain players.  I don’t claim to know exactly how they do it, but I’m assuming that it’s not without pre-established bias from a player’s historic performance and reputation over the years.

Interesting. Bech's brother is one of the better WRs in this draft class.

The Cowboys hired Brian Schottenheimer and this how Jones introduces him…

"Brian Schottenheimer is known as a career assistant,” Jones said. "He ain’t Brian no more. He is now known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.”

Lol, wut?
