Is there anyone on this message board that is 100% confident we will win tomorrow ? I mean absolute unwavering confidence.

No, because of the offense (hurts/play calling) and elliott. If the defense gets any turnovers hopefully they score because the offense even against lesser defenses makes things more difficult than it has to be.

I’m just asking. That way I could find out which posters are nuts. I’m really worried about Jayden Daniels slicing up the defence badly.

Nothing is 100%, too many factors and playoff games are competitive and often close.

I'm not worried about a rookie QB in the playoffs against the #1 defense in the NFL though. Their offense will make plays and score. (Some anxiety-ridden fans will fall apart at any good play the other team makes and say the game is over in the 1st quarter, and start talking about the draft).

The Eagles are a top team in the NFL, the top defense, punishing O line, dominant run game. Teams should be scared of playing the Eagles.

Eagles fans should be more confident. Nothing is a guarantee, upsets happen, wild things can happen, injuries, refs, etc. But I feel confident the Eagles will win.

Do you mean 02? In 2001, I would say getting to the NFCCG and giving St Louis a fight in their dome was far exceeding expectations and far from crapping the bed.

Oh yes, thanks for the correction. Of course I mean 02 against the Bucs. 😊👍

My greatest comfort in this game is that a cold Kenny Pickett came in at the beginning of the game the last time they faced.  And even after that, it took a sequence of highly improbable and bad luck (for the Eagles) events just to barely lose the game.  With either Hurts OR an already more prepared Pickett, it should still take so much for them to actually drop this game.

They beat up on a 2nd string defense and now everyone seems to be overly worried.

Yeah well they beat up on the Eagles defense last time we played them, too.  Yeah I know that was mostly after CJGJ was ejected from the game, but the Eagles defense shouldn't have struggled that much even without him.  Since then we've lost Dean so we're gonna be down a bigtime defensive player again, so will the defense have the same issues they did when they were down a starter against Washington the last time?   Will Hurts be able to move anywhere close to how he usually does? How much will Cam's injury effect him?  There are more variables in this one than there were in the last one and that bothers me.

Have you watched this team at all this season? .  This team is much more talented than many of the teams they matched up against this year.  How many times did they 'win big'?   That's just not who this team is.   I've come to grips with it, and have my heart medication in my hand for the entire game.   I suggest you put in a call to your cardiologist for an emergency dose of some meds.

I think they won "big" plenty of times this year, compared to last year's close, ugly wins. Dominant, convincing wins against the Bengals, Ravens, Rams (reg season game), Steelers (with backup QBs), blew out the Giants and Cowboys (the first game).

There were fans that were worried about the Packers in the playoffs. We beat them 22-10. The Rams playoff game the Eagles had a lot of issues and they still won a playoff game. Clean up the mistakes and they will be fine. The only team who can really beat this Eagles team is themselves, with mistakes and penalties and poor decisions. If they clean that up, they win.

For the "Hurts is just a winner crowd"...

The overwhelming consensus is that Daniels needs to be superhuman for the Commanders to win, while the Eagles need to establish some miniscule pretense of a passing game to keep the defense honest and the Eagles will win.

Don't screw up basically

They didn't really beat up on the defense, they just had a ton of opportunities and the Eagles offense couldn't put the game away.

They had 13 possessions:  5 TDs, 5 turnovers, 1 turnover on downs, and 2 punts.

The Eagles scored 13 points off of 5 turnovers. Kenny Pickett not being able to do anything was the biggest reason they won that game

Maybe the lack of mobility will be the impetus to get Hurts to get the ball out to his targets more quickly and decisively.

I think there are really only 3 variables that will determine the outcome of this game.

1. Can the Eagles establish anything on offense to offset some pressure from Barkley and the running game?  Hurts running, Hurts passing and getting any one of their weapons going...any one of these things will suffice and will be enough to free up Barkley and establish a winning offense.  Really low bar here.  And this is why the Eagles are favorites.

2. Can Jayden Daniels deliver a superhuman game capturing performance?  Really high bar here.  Again, this is why the Eagles are favorites.  It's possible, but asking a lot.

3. Will the Eagles have to shuffle their OL and will this detract from the running game we are all assuming will be dominant?  In this atypical offense, Dickerson and Becton are two of the biggest weapons in our offense with the explosive openings they create on the ground.  If you pull Dickerson out of that in-line blocking, road grading role and use him as the band-aid at center...for THIS offense...that's arguably worse than going into the game without AJ Brown, who isn't utilized anyway.

Aside from the usual turnovers caveat, which always allow a team to steal a game, I think only these 3 variables will determine the outcome.

Point #1 would be key.  AJ has not been productive for couple of games.  Getting him going again should change the dynamics and favors Barkley on the ground.  Get the ball out quickly to AJ, Smith and TE on short and intermediate routes should help.  Hurts tends to hold the ball too long and gives the defense time to get to him.  Sacks, wasted downs, or, worst, injury are all bad things.

I'd expect they keep the OL as-is and runs with that.  This is the bed rock of our offense success.  Making changes now would not be smart.

The Eagles won the time of possession battle in that game 36:18 to 23:42, so I don't think it was the defense being on the field too much.   For comparison, the game the Eagles had the ball the entire 4th quarter against the Steelers they only beat that 36:18 by 3 minutes and 34 seconds (39:52).    Overall the Eagles average time of possession on the season is 32:12, so in that last game against the Commanders the Eagles offense actually did better than their average, not worse.   I think people are just looking to blame the offense for the defense playing poorly in the latter part of that game, but if you look at just time of possession stats they had no reason to be too tired to play proper defense.  I blame both equally for that loss.  The defense because giving up 36 against any opponent won't win you many games.  And the offense because despite what I JUST said in the sentence preceding this one if they did better than 13 measly points off of 5 turnovers then they'd have STILL won.

I think #1 is only an issue if Hurts is hobbled.  So, if Hurts is ok (even just say 60% of his normal running OR has a solid passing game) and Cam plays decently then it really only leaves the magic of Daniels.

My simple recipe - Slow Daniels and don't lose the turnover battle.  Do that and we are off to N'Oleans.

I hate to break it to you... but we don't really care one way or the other about the Packers.  🤷‍♂️

I used to root for them if we got eliminated or never made it to the post season. Rodgers was fun to watch

Yup I wish we could play opposing teams there all the time rather than at Lambeau.

I actually root for you guys anyday over the 49ers, Cowboys, Bucs. I was so happy when you beat the Vikings in the Championship game and the Pats in the Superbowl.

It was just CJGJ being out but it was also a combination of his backup getting picked on as well as the offense not being able to sustain anything with Pickett. The Commanders turned the ball over 4 times with Pickett in the game and we scored SIX points.

This is the hand wringing before the storm...  Typical behavior as game day approaches.

But, recall... there were a ton of folks who said that the Packers were the worst possible draw for the Eagles in Round 1 because they were hot coming in (Complete fallacy, of course).  The Rams were also considered to be a scary opponent for round 2, because they had the best QB left in the NFC playoffs in Stafford... which was true, but that's about all they really had.  And the Eagles SHOULD have dispatched both easily.   And to a certain extent, they did, though it was more worse with the Rams... they let both hang around a bit and gave us some tense moments, against the Rams it seemed that they had put the game in a strangle hold, only to give up an easy TD drive to make it that much scarier.   I don't expect anything different tomorrow.   Its going to be tense... although I would love a reprise of Nick gutting the Vikings.

I Knew we were going to lose against you guys. Ever since we lost to the Vikings that seemed to take the wind out of our sails.

Flight delayed. 😡

Only 30 minutes so far, and bunch of Eagles hats and shirts in the gate area.

Well they won’t choose to make OL changes, but they may have to if Jurgens either can’t go or can’t finish.

Your going to the game?

If we were healthy, we'd crush them. But we're not. That's honestly the biggest factor in the game. Can our banged-up guys play well enough.

I want so badly for Daniels to not only lose but to play like absolute crap so I can hear all the national media try to fall all over themselves making excuses for him. They’ve really backed themselves into a corner by already declaring him the greatest player that’s ever lived.
