Nobody is complaining about the run/pass ratio anymore.

Sirianni still sucks... but the talent overcomes stupidity.   The sequence at the end of the first half was a disgrace.  Absolutely an utter disgrace.   Oh, and the red zone offense still struggles mightily.   BUT, at least Sirianni seemed to have learned from the past and kicked the FGs early this time.

But that sequence at the end of the first half was the stupidest sequence at the end of a half I think I've ever seen.  And the final play was the cherry on top.

So is it that when stupid plays are called, Sirianni must have overruled Moore? Aren't those plays Moore's fault. It was clear that Moore thought he could fool the D into Hurts scampering for 10 yards and getting out of bounds for a FG try. Not sure why this is Sirianni's fault other than he, ostensibly, brought Moore onto his coaching team as OC.

The only thing wrong here is he said the Eagles lost in 2022, they didn't, but aside from that interesting data.

I don't mean to be crass or insensitive or inappropriate, but there are probably about twenty guys whose season-ending injuries would be worse for us. Virtually every starter on offense (maybe we could survive losing Becton because Steen is okay). On defense, Carter, Sweat, Baun, Mitchell, DeJean, maybe Dean or Williams.

Yeah, more PT for Ojomo, Booker and Hunt until Huff returns in a few weeks.

Hunt is the guy I want to see, second half of their rookie year is when many rookies start to get PT.

He's got a chance to be special, safety experience, LB athleticism, DE body. Didn't look lost in preseason.

Ojomo is a little light for DT, but at LDE you can go 3 man front with Hunt, Smith and Baun at OLB.

I’m definitely rooting for a Ravens win tonight because they always seem to play better after a loss.

Living in Baltimore, I’m really hoping this isn’t the week Hurts has a dreadful game.

Pierre Paul had some success under Vic. If Vic gives the green light, bring him in. I always liked Irvin & Ingram, I'd investigate them as well.

They lost the sb.

Used to live in MD and so I can't root for Ravens

Does he have anything left in the tank?  He's been on practice squads for NO and MIA, but never on the active roster.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in, but let's not expect miracles.

The HC is responsible for managing the clock at the end of the half.   That's a "CEO" moment.   The 4th down play call isn't up to the OC, in terms of having carte blanche.   The goal for the play must be clearly stated to the OC before allowing for an offensive play call there, versus a punt.   The goal of the play has to be: 1 - kill the clock, the play MUST take 7 seconds.  2 - guaranteed to result in a first down.   And since option 2 isn't possible, then option 1 is the only option that remains... and the information shared to the QB must be that no matter what, this play has to take all 7 seconds off the clock, and the clock doesn't stop until the ball LANDS, even if its thrown into the 50th row of the stands.    And an intentional grounding call at that point isn't a worry, because the half can end on an OFFENSIVE penalty, it cannot end on a DEFENSIVE penalty.

So, yeah.. that's on the HC, because its ultimately HIS decision on how to handle the last seconds of the half.  And as 'CEO' HC, he shouldn't have tunnel vision about getting a first down, but be focused on the game strategy decisions.   Moore gets his share of the blame for a failure to execute, but the HC needs to be better at communicating what to do in that situation and what the goals are.

As for the idea that Hurts could scamper for 10 yards on 4th down... that ignores that that exact option just failed on 2nd down.   But, in the end, the decision to allow the OC to go for it on 4th down, with 7 seconds left in the half at midfield isn't up to the OC, its up to the HC.  And the HC needs to either approve the play call, or dictate the play call.  They were unprepared for what to do in that situation.  And that falls at the feet of the CEO.

This is statistically the best defense they've had in 16 years since the 2008 season. They've held opponents under 300 yards in 7 straight which they haven't done since then. If you would have told us a year ago that they would have rebounded like this only after a year, no one would have believed it. It's been an incredible turnaround and Fangio deserves a lot of credit. They're getting elite play out of two rookies in Mitchell and DeJean, Baun is all over the place, Nakobe has stepped up, Carter is a game-wrecker, and the depth on the line in guys like Williams is huge. BG is a big loss but I trust them to figure it out. They've been doing all of this without an elite pass rusher as well. If they can get one more rookie contributor in Hunt to hold his ground, I think they'll be okay.

If you had told me that coming out of the bye they'd have made this huge change, I wouldn't have believed it.  I'm not sure how much is DeJean vs Vic, vs the players finally understanding their assignments and being able to play more aggressively without worrying about what to do, but this has been a complete 180 from the end of last season.  They were brutally bad and gave no effort down the stretch.  They seem to now believe in what they are doing and having bought in, are giving full effort all the time.   Very few times have I seen a player not trying to get in on a gang tackle, and there have been a bunch of guys flying to the ball constantly to make the tackle.  Its amazing what a little trust in the scheme can do.

They added 3 elite players to the starting 11 as upgrades over guys that were awful. Not to take anything from Fangio, but turning 3 horrible starters into elite ones would transform almost any defense.

Lots of credit to Howie for manufacturing that in one off season.  Not to mention Dean stepping up is a huge bonus. CJGJ has been up and down this year but he’s still an upgrade.

Whoever runs the chargers twitter account is awesome

The Eagles upgraded 5 starting positions with guys that weren’t even on the roster last year.  (RB, RG, LB, CB, CB).

Thats almost unthinkable for one offseason.

They did downgrade at edge (the right decision, but still a voluntary downgrade).

They turned over center (out of necessity) and did very well replacing Kelce.

They turned over WR3 and went from bad to bad.

Overall, beautiful personnel movements.

Agree with you on this. If you would’ve told me, they’d be a top three defense coming out of the bye for seven consecutive weeks I would’ve been floored. I was hoping for just top half of the league. Before the bye they were very similar to what happened with Desai. He’s have a game like the rams where they’d look good (saints) and then a game like the commanders where they were just awful all around (Tampa this year). Moreover they would have these drives in critical moments where they just couldn’t get off the field when they needed too (Atlanta week 2). Now they are consistent and can get off the field when they really need too

Credit to fangio for inserting deJean and maximizing the talent we have here. That was my biggest gripe heading into the bye week. If he was worth the money we were paying him and he was the genius architect of this defense then he should be getting more out of guys then someone like Desai. He currently is and guys are playing fast and physical. I think part of it was learning curve of players and figuring out how to maximize guys.

I also think it makes a major difference that Jalen Carter has decided he was going to play like a all pro almost every single snap because when he plays the way that he is an unstoppable forced that makes everybody else around him better.

Jurgens performance still feels underrated. He's been incredible this year and they haven't really seen a drop-off outside of the success of the tush push.

Upgraded at 6* starting positions.

CJGJ is an upgrade at Safety over Kevin Byard as well.

Wouldn’t say Mitchell struggled. A lot of his stats against him were in garbage time

What the hell does he mean he struggled? What a horrible take.

Mitchell gave up under 30 yards yesteday, which was actually less than DeJean.

Like I said last night, the TD at the end won't be credited to him. It wasn't his assignment.

Wait til he finds out what Rodgers numbers were…
