One play that gave me a lot of confidence was when Hurts threw it out of the end zone. He would have tried to force it to Brown earlier in the year and possibly picked off. His patience is really improving.

Agreed.

We have a 2.5 game lead over them.

In the scenario I laid out... as long as the Eagles win 2 of the 3 games against Ravens, Washington and Pittsburgh and 2 out of 3 games against the Panthers, Cowboys and Giants, they win the division over Washington, EVEN if Washington wins out and the game the Eagles drop is to Washington of that 2 out of 3 games.  It might be tougher to beat both Baltimore and Pittsburgh than Washington, but that still works out for the Eagles to win the division.

If they only win 1 of the 3 tough games that remain, only then would another loss be needed by Washington.  But if that 1 win is against Washington and they lose the other two to Baltimore and Pittsburgh, they still win the division with just 2 out of 3 wins in the other 3 if Washington wins all the rest of their games besides the Eagles' game.   Eagles would be 12-5, Washington would be at best 11-6.  Eagles could even drop the game to the Cowboys as well if that happened and fall to 11-6, because they'd then have the tiebreaker over Washington head to head.

Obviously, in your first scenario we only end up losing 4 games.  The Commanders have already lost five.

In your second scenario, you basically repeat my 3-3 scenario.  If one of the losses will be week 18 against the Giants because we rest our starters, one of the wins has to be against the Commanders.

The Eagles can clinch the #2 seed on week 16 with win over the Commanders if:

  • They beat Carolina and split with Bal/Pit.
  • Atlanta loses to either LAC, Min, LVR, or NYG.
  • Seattle loses to either NYJ, Arz, GB, or Min.

If Arizona wins out and the Eagles subsequently lose to Dallas and NYG, we'd both be 12-5, but the Eagles have the common opponent tie breaker.

What evidence do you have that Becton actually feels this way, versus you projecting your own thoughts on to Becton and his agent?

What is it about the words "I believe ..." that you don't understand?  It is kind of like people believing in God without any evidence.

That’s a good comparison.

He's running barely touched, sometimes not touched at all. The O line is playing great. Plus he has such speed and quickness once he hits open space he's gone. He's also have a lot of fun out there, he's rejuvenated.

And looks fresh at the end of the games, even the last one.  Also, he has had a couple where he gets a good chunk of the 4th Qs on the sidelines.

But that play he had AJ open and should have thrown the TD but he spazzed out.

shoulda, woulda, coulda.  He woulda also risked the chances of an interception.

Well, we see what is happening with the Jets from afar.  It can only look worse from the inside.  I just don't think folks should anticipate a hometown discount for these guys.  It could happen, but they also have a limiting earning window and their agent and the NFLPA will want them to get their max worth.

Also, OTs still earn more than OGs, though that disparity is smaller now.  But he might also prefer playing OT and get offered more to do so.

He might also be Stout's and Howie's plan for succession at RG.  Only time will tell.

Ideally, and I've been vocal about this for most of the year, Becton stays and is the eventual RT with Steen at RG. The hope there is you're paying top dollar for Becton to play RG and take advantage of Steen's rookie deal while Lane is still playing.

Is it more likely that the Eagles find and develop another DT under Clint Hurtt or they find and develop more OL talent under Jeff Stoutland?

It's beginning to look like Milton Williams is on the same trajectory as Javon Hargrave. I'd hate to miss out on that.

He also risked the chance of getting mugged when he left his house in the morning. His job is to throw the ball. Yes, every time he throws, it can be intercepted. But if he were good at playing is position, he would be allowed to throw more, and not throw as many INTs.

Ravens are a good team but their Defense can be had.   Going to be a fun game.  Yes this was always one of the harder games on the schedule but I believe we are playing better than them right now.   Again won't be a cakewalk but I'm confident they can pull this out.

Prior to last night the Chargers were allowing 14.5 points per game and the ravens scored 30.  I agree it won't be a cakewalk and I too am confident they can pull this out.

He is playing good. Lamar threw it 22 times last night for 177 yards and 2 TDs, and they gave Henry 24 carries.  All of Baltimore's losses this year came from them throwing more than they ran.  It's not that Hurts or Lamar can't throw more, but it doesn't make sense to do so.

No. Its that they cant throw more. Lamar is not a good QB either.

His job is to win football games.

This team is more talented than every other team in the NFL other than Detroit.  They should win every game in the manner we have been seeing recently.  Stifling defense, dominant OL, and game-breaking RB.  The only way, IMO, that this team loses is when chaos appears.

Chaos in the form of turnovers, penalties, or special team failures.

I consistently have agreed with you that Hurts is wanting as a passer.  But if the desire is to win games, I am perfectly happy with the way he has played lately.  Delivering a handful of critical third down conversions with his arm or legs without turning the ball over.

There was a different play they’re talking about…IIRC the play broke down at the snap, he rolled right out of the pocket and threw it basically into the stands on right side of the EZ.  The AJ and WIlson plays are ones i think he wants back.

I particularly agree with you on the Wilson pass.  Hurts and Wilson need to do high pointing reps in practice over and over and over again.  Use Wilon's height and vertical leap as a weapon.

Your standard of what a good QB is is in a Time Machine.

Im happy with it too. I just find the praise to be silly. Its such a low bar. We HAD to adjust the offense to win in spite of him. And if he manages to not turn it over throwing about 20 times a game people want to say he has been playing great. All we are asking him to do is not make mistakes. He still makes plenty. But luckily not in the form of turn overs.

Well, my first scenario was still a 4-2 scenario, and we wouldn't have to worry about Washington at that point, regardless of which of the big 3 games we actually lost.   In other words, the Eagles are sitting in the catbird seat for the #2 seed, but in a tough spot regarding #1.  Not only are they chasing the Lions, but the Vikings are right there with them.

He hinted he only wants to go to one team and it's where he has played in the past. The Bucs
