Looking back through the Eagles 2024 stats vs 2022 stats and position groups, it's pretty striking that this upcoming Super Bowl should be a much different game than SB 57.  The Eagles only ran for 115 yards as a team in that game, even though they led for most of the game.  Sanders/Gainwell/Scott had a combined 17 carries for 45 yards -- that's a pretty ugly 2.6 yards per carry.  Hurts had to carry 15 times for 70 yards to make the run game somewhat respectable.  The Chiefs ran 26 times for 158 yards -- more than 6 yards per carry.

I think from a personnel standpoint the current Eagles team is more talented, especially on these trade-offs:

Barkley > Sanders

Baun > Edwards

Mitchell > Bradberry

DeJean > Maddox

You can certainly make a case the Eagles 2022 team was superior in pass rush, but the disgraceful field the NFL provided completely removed that strength from the game.  Zero Eagles sacks against Mahomes and his imaginary 'high ankle sprain' (which was, in fact, a normal sprained ankle).

I predict this Super Bowl will be lower scoring, with the Eagles run game and defense carrying them to victory.  I think the Eagles are about 6 points better.  Overall, I think the Eagles are a slightly better team now than in 2022, while the Chiefs are a bit worse.

Honestly, I think the Eagles lost due to that field. it nullified their pass rush, which would've been the key to winning. We saw how Tampa's defense got after Mahomes in their SB matchup, which lead to Brady and Co. dominating the Chiefs for an easy SB win. I'm sure it would've gone that same way for us if not for those conditions.

Anyway, yeah, we're more talented now as well too. Eagles will stick to their formula and will dominate the Chiefs imo. I see the Eagles winning by 10 or 12 points

@Wentz_Era is an USAF guy, if memory serves.   Did a stint at the USAFA, iirc.

Both are heroes though, as are all who wear the various uniforms.  🫡 :usa:

I really appreciate that sentiment, I do however want to clarify that I am no hero. I did serve in the USMC, but I never deployed to a theater of operation, I never had to spend long periods of time away from my family. Those who had to face those things and much more challenging situations are the heroes. It's important to me that my service isn't overly celebrated, there are many, many more soldiers and even other Americans deserving of those accolades.

Mahomes ran for 2 TDs in their recent win over the Bills, and he only threw for 1 TD.  So with your logic, he had an inferior game because he ran for 2 TDs and "real" QB's pass to score.  I think I need to add another person to my ignore list, lol.

This offense is built around the running game so of course Hurts’ stats will reflect that.

Andy Reid has always run a pass first offense so Mahomes’ stats will reflect that.

The only way to compare the two in terms of "overall production” would be to use "total stats”.

 It’s not that complicated.

Yeah I wasn’t really talking about that guy in particular - who knows - could be an attention seeker.  Just a topic of conversation, tbh.

The topic started up again, because of what they guy posted.   And he's clearly an attention seeker.

No but using total stats during a comparing isn't telling the truth and is just to make you feel better. I'm happy you get a good feeling inside believing that Mahomes and Hurts are the same

Please add me to your list. I beg of you

I sat in the 700 level for the Dallas snowball game in 1989.   It was fun.

The 700 level was a beautiful place to watch a game.  Reminded me a bit of the old west. .  But, honestly, it wasn't as crazy as some would have portrayed it to be.

Must be a very difficult time for pathetic Hurts haters like yourself.

"The Eagles might not get into the red zone against the Chiefs defense”.

Please post that all over the locker room.

I mean, they may never actually get there.  Saquon will just run right through it on his way to 4 TDs.

Mahomes could retire right now and be a first ballot hall of fame

What do you think happens if Hurts were to retire right now?

I feel very very good about this team in a dome.  The Eagles are the better team, so Id prefer ideal playing conditions

The Vet was crazy.  My first Eagles game was the "snowball” game against Dallas.   Oh, the memories.

That said, we certainly have come a long way as fans since the Vet days. 👀

And at the same time... people have gotten super soft.

Jalen Hurts hasn't won 3 Super Bowls.  Hea certainly building a resume though in his first 4 seasons as a starter.

Exactly. He hasn't done what Mahomes has and yet you're calling me a "pathetic Hurts hater" because I said Mahomes and Hurts are not comparable

Again, your argument is a dumb one.  Using total stats is fair and shows just how many TD's each QB accounted for.  I don't really care if a QB throws for less TDs when he's sneaking/running them in instead.   A 5-10 yd TD pass isn't more impressive than a tush push or rushing TD in my book.

Lastly, I don't think anyone believes Hurts is better than Mahomes.  The stat comparison simply shows that Hurts accounts for about the same level of productivity, but he just does it differently.  If you're too much of a hater or not objective enough to realize that, so be it.

Senior Bowl week.  Six weeks until free agency.  Three months until the draft.

That's all 30 other fanbases have to look forward to.

Phillies games were fine - pretty chill for the most part.  I remember getting $6 bleacher seats in the 700 level for Phillies games.  Good times.

Hurts wouldn't be a HOF, but neither would Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Herbert, or Mayfield.

You are a pathetic Hurts hater. Just own it already 😅

Dome will certainly benefit Elliot.  God willing.

We also have to look forward to the night before the Super Bowl talking about what candy bar is the best and what snack back in the day are missed. I feel we should add on to our topic we had going before the nfc title game and include tv shows that went off the air too soon.

Total stats is only there to make you feel better when you compare a QB

People only started to use total stats recently. Before they were separating them as they should be

I thought you were adding me to your ignore list :roll:

I have a feeling that Oren Burks is going to have a HUGE play and we'll all be talking about this dude that came out of nowhere to help us win the Super Bowl.
