Even with a hypothetical loss to the Rams two nights ago, putting us at 8-3, I would still be feeling so much more confident about our ability to contend in January than I did last year at this same point with a 10-1 record.

The biggest difference to last year is the defense and that they have been playing more complimentary football. Those things were atrocious last year. The offense basically had to be almost perfect, which they weren’t of course, because the defense couldn’t consistently stop anyone. And if they actually managed to come up with a stop, the offense would go into a funk and go three and out or turn it right back over.

That Jamie Seltzer guy?  Yeah.  Way too homerish and squeeky for me.

Jamie Lynch

That's an interesting take.  Why the Broncos?

If he wants to play for a team he's played on before he has two choices. Bucs or Broncos. Broncos are trending in a better direction than the Bucs. Broncos defense has also been leagues better than the Bucs. They aren't far behind the Eagles.

I'm not a huge draft guy, but I feel like he was expected to go earlier. Super raw and new to football, but the physical traits are there.

Is he though? Played at Texas at age 16, played in high school obviously before that. 5 years in college. Has long arms, decent enough size in a 3 down front. Good athleticism, was a good run defender in college; work in progress as a rusher. Projected to go rds 4-5.

Always thought there was something else going on with him. You don't fall 3 rounds and almost go undrafted just because you're kinda but not really a tweener and need to improve your pass rush.

He was 97.5 right?  Usually super negative. Pretty much the opposite of squeaky on WIP

Didn't even notice he was cut. About as good as we could hope for at this point, might actually add some value.

3 sacks this year from what I read

Hard to get excited about the Panthers 54th player but it is what it is at this point.

Better than Jackson I guess. There is a chance that team is such a crap show that he'll look better here.

He’s played this year, and has gotten some production - that’s good. Made it through waivers to us… figured somebody would want him, but guess not <that’s not great>.

I think this is a solid move, honestly.

He had a late start to his career in high school. Didn’t even lift until his junior year. It’s actually pretty hard to catch up when you start that late since your biggest, easiest gains in lean mass and strength come in your mid and late teens.

Combine that with being a tweener leaning towards a run stuffing 4-3 DT/3-4 DE, without crazy production, and he dropped.

He also risked the chance of getting mugged when he left his house in the morning. His job is to throw the ball. Yes, every time he throws, it can be intercepted. But if he were good at playing is position, he would be allowed to throw more, and not throw as many INTs.

Was Troy Aikman a good QB?

Some insight into why he was let go.

Plenty of QBs in that era threw far more often. Aikman won rings and in much the same fashion as the way the Eagles have played under Hurts this year. Hurts has the added element of running himself.

I don't know man, long snappers go in the 5th/6th rounds and this guy barely gets drafted?

Graham said he could be back in 6 weeks and a little time for rehab.

Bradshaw threw far less often for his first two rings as well. The number one job of the QB is to win, period.

If teams double Jalen Carter as much as the Rams did, I can’t see how anybody wouldn’t look a little bit better than their normal self
