I'm obviously biased for my dislike of Ravens but the mvp shouldn't go to a QB this year as overall the quality has been down this year

I think it depends on if Moore is happy here or not. Does he want a different style QB? Even though he is supposed to have control over the offense... he's been overruled by Nick (though it seems lately that's stopped). He may be fine with staying if Nick really lets go the responsibilities of the offense to Moore

I think I'd be worried about whoever they get again and Hurts having to learn yet another new system

The Moore situation is one that Lurie can solve with money.  You can’t understate the value that the stability of the Stoutland tenure has had on the o-line. Hopefully the same can be said for Fangio five years from now.  Moore could easily follow the same path if the money is right.  A large part of Andy Reid’s success has been because of the consistency and tenure of his assistants.

Thanks for the reply.  We don’t see you here often.  Hopefully we will see you more.  Always good to have another insightful voice.

Regarding you comments, my read of them is that they are all focused on Hurts rather than Saquon.  As long as Saquon is going off like he has been, isn’t taking steps to limit Hurts putting the cart before the horse?  Saquon has shown that stacking the box on him (with this O-Line) is an invitation for breakaway runs.  Any mush rush deployed to address Hurts simply plays into Stoutland’s hands.  Our O-Linemen engaging a D-Lineman or LB who is in a mush posture is going to feast, leaving gaping holes for Saquon to run through.  Then when the opposing DC adjusts to address Saquon, play action from Hurts becomes a much more attractive option.

Thoughts?

Sorry.  Should have been more clear.  Expect teams from now on to stop Saquon / Hurts from running.  Then take away AJ.  If successful, then Hurts should have to pass elsewhere.  And there it gets interesting.  All of the tactics above are with this strategy in mind.  Teams in years past have slowed down Hurts with this game plan but #26 / o-line are dominating.  Should be fun to see what Baltimore tries and what works and what does not.  They usually have a good defense and are fierce competitors too.  Peace.

No assistant coach is turning down a head coaching gig.

The Lions OC turned down offer(s) this past offseason because he wanted to return for another year.

Okay.  How are those teams going to stop Saquon from running?  Stacking the box?  I believe some of Saquon’s most impressive runs have come against stacked boxes.  If/when he breaks through the stacked line there are only 3 DBs between him and the goal line.  In addition, the 3 DBs are on an island with AJ, Devonta, and Dallas making them vulnerable to play action.

Jim Johnson did it for years.  Steve Spagnuolo is currently doing it in KC.  Is a person more interested in life balance with money or glory with money?  Most people would choose the former, especially if they have experienced the down side risk that comes with the latter.

Most OCs seem to bail. Maybe they are high maintenance.

Assuming we can only keep 3 of Becton, Williams, Baun and Sweat who do you keep?

How about if we can only keep 2?

Normally I would be fine letting Becton walk and keeping the defense together, but not only is Becton good but he’s unique.

I think my priority is Baun, Becton, Sweat, Williams in that order.

Baun, Williams, Becton, Sweat.

Seeing Carter and Williams together is so damn exciting. I don't want to let him walk and hope Ojomo or insert another DT can do the same.

Who do we want to win the Cowboys-Giants game?

As much as I hate the Giants … much much more than the Cowboys … this time I want them to beat the Boys.

Who will be a FA this year they'd target?

Baun is a must if they continue to play this well with him. They can't go through a few years of trying to fix that again.

Definitely the Giants. Dallas already has four wins. If they get a fifth, they'll start to sniff a wild card berth (which we all know they’re not getting but that’s not the point.)

With two wins, the Giants are tied for the worst record in the league. It’d be better for us long term if they don’t get a super high pick. Let them win a few games and end up picking seventh.

Ok who claimed Houston

Baun, Becton, Williams

Based on tankathon, the Giants.

Cowboys.  Jerry is starting to get the itch to bring back Mike McCarthy.

It's a pretty weak and old DE/Edge FA class. Someone will overpay for Josh Sweat. Has Reddick burnt his Philly bridges? I'd be on board for brining him back on a 2-year deal. I think he overvalued himself and could be had at a reasonable deal.

Detroit is in a battle for the #1 seed and cut Houston. That's a bad sign.

Jerry signed off on firing Moore after the 2022 season. I'd be surprised if he is a candidate to come back.

Maybe - I just don't see who else they would consider? Doug Pederson?

These guys are quitters. If they lose a couple more games you’ll see a bunch of phantom injuries that they’ve had for months. I’m not buying that nonsense.
