I know we beat them already, but Green Bay is the one team in the NFC I don't want to see in the playoffs.

I feel like we've got a good handle on everyone else.  Even Detroit.

Green Bay’s dvoa on offense is 5th. Which is pretty impressive as they’ve faced dvoa defense of 15 or better more than any offense. Add on love missed games and was a turnover machine earlier in the year. Last two weeks he’s had 4 TDs and 0. Also his qb rating the last 3 weeks has been 113, 107 and 133.9 (tonight so far). I’d make the argument they are the third best team in the nfc. I know Minnesota beat them but was also Jordan loves first game back from his knee injury and he got going in the second half and nearly came back

Packers are ****ing about PI up 13 with two minutes left. Why are you even chucking the ball down field?

I think with this OL…a healthy, fresh, energized Barkley getting 30 touches gives the eagles significantly better than a 50% chance of controlling the game and beating any elite team in the NFL in the playoffs.  GB, Detroit, AFC champion, you name it.  Home or away.

IMO…the entire purpose of the balance of this season should be preserving Barkley and keeping him on ice so that you can do that in the playoffs.

Just watched a breakdown of the Bears last 40 seconds of that game.  Eberflus has to be smarter there and call the timeout after the sack with 32 seconds left, but Caleb Williams doesn’t get the next play off until 6 seconds left on the clock?  His OG is trying to get everyone to speed up at 28 seconds left, and Williams pisses the rest of the game away by only running one play, which wasn’t even the designed play as called.

How does a QB with 37 college games of experience have absolutely no clue how to run a 2-minute drill with the game in the balance?  The Bears are just always doomed to draft the wrong QB

Caleb does have to do better there for sure and I’m not sure the rookie excuse holds much weight really. As you say he played in college (at a high level in big games) so he has experience of those situations.

But man Eberflus is just a flat out bad HC! I mean he’s horrible he really is.

No.

You absolutely do not call timeout. You need the TO to get the FG team on the field in case you get tackled in bounds.

Calling TO there is another disastrously stupid idea in the making.

What you do is try to get lined up and run a play with 10+ seconds on the clock. Once it hits 9 you call time out.

Calling TO right away would have left plenty of time to run the FG team on after a pass over the middle.  That was their best option but once they missed that window and clock started to dip under 25 seconds then yeah don't call it unless the clock goes under 10.

Division record doesn't mean anything in a tiebreak between the Eagles and Lions. NFC record would come first followed by record against common opponents. Green Bay beating the Lions next week would give the Eagles the tiebreak since we beat them. That's if both teams go 15-2. If there are other losses, things change.

If the Lions lose to the Packers and the Eagles beat the Cowboys then the Eagles would win a tie breaker vs. the Lions.

Maybe the Lions lose 2 of 3 vs. Vikings, Packers or SF.......would allow us a loss vs. the Ravens (I think) but we'd have to win the final 4.  Wish that good for nothing Barkley caught that ball against Atlanta lol!!!!

The common opponent games left are GB for the Lions and Dallas for the Eagles.  If both teams win those games but end up with the same record then it will go to the next tie breaker which is "Strength of victory" which is the cumulative record of all the teams beaten.  That scenario has a millions different outcomes at this point.

Love isnt good enough. A drive or 2 will end with an inaccurate pass from him on 3rd downs. Watson will drop a pass or two. Theyre too mistake prone. Jayden Reed is their 1 player to fear. And his production has fallen off hard. He scored two TDs today with only 15 yards. They should really feature him more on offense. Their run game still isnt that good with Josh Jacobs. Theyre just not very scary.

Meet them on an actual football field where our defense isnt slipping constantly, the game wont be close next time.

But, can they beat Detroit, in Detroit next week?  That's the real question.

And that tiebreak seems to favor Detroit. Not guaranteed of course, but in doing an estimate of what the records might be of every team it appears that we'll fall short. That's why a win over Baltimore would be critical. They'll end up with a good record. It would also mean that we need to root for the Cowboys and Giants to win games. And the teams in the AFC North when they play random games. We should also root against AFC South teams too in random games.

Also, if the Lions were to go 15-2 with their second loss to Buffalo, they'd beat us on conference record.

And I would think a loss by the Lions to the Vikings in the season finale if they're 15-1 going in would be unlikely since the Vikings would probably be locked into a wild card spot with no chance of a division title and would probably be resting starters.

I also don't think we're going to go 15-2. So there's that.

Yeah, Eberflus is the one accountable for what happened; the head coach "bears" the responsibility for the entire team.  The only free pass I give him is Williams had just pulled a temper tantrum for Eberflus calling a timeout from the sidelines -- LITERALLY the play before at 41 seconds left!  It would have been humorous if Eberflus called timeout from the sideline again at 15 seconds when it was obvious Williams was in over his head, which is what he needed to do there.

I was put in a jail cell with a Packers fan from Tennessee before we were both transferred to the local police station in separate cruisers for booking.  They often talk about the jail cell(s) in Veteran's Stadium but never of the jail cell in Lambeau Field, the jail cell where friendships are made even where differences lay.

Are the Ravens the real test? If we win, do we become SB faves? If we lose, are we frauds?

I don't view this game as a marquee matchup, frankly.  The Ravens are currently the #5 seed in the AFC and, IMO, you'd be hard-pressed to assert they're any better than the 4th best AFC team.  It's extremely unlikely to me the Eagles would face them if we reach the Super Bowl.  The Ravens defense is giving up nearly 25 PPG this season and doesn't resemble Ravens defenses of the past.

That's not to say the game will be easy.  It's a road game and Lamar Jackson always presents a unique challenge.  It will be interesting to see how Fangio chooses to defend him.

Probably the best team they played outside of GB. Without Smith it's not a real example of what their offense can be. If they win I think some will come over in the media.

I don't see them running the table. Maybe that is this week or maybe it's the last resting people.

It's an exhausting sport and they are bound to have an off week, especially without Smith. They are still a very good team either way.

Just looking ahead to schedules...

KC is kind of getting screwed by the league schedule.

They got the 'mini-bye' to start the year by starting on Thursday night at the start of the season.

BUT, they also get to play on a Friday, which is slightly better than a Thursday game, but not by much.  Then they get a 6 days situation where they line up to play on a Saturday, then they get the 'privilege' of lining up on a Wednesday for the Christmas game.   So, they play on 6 days rest, then again on 4 days rest, after a 5 days rest about a month earlier.   Just horrific scheduling.   If the NFL really wants these weird days with games, they need to add a second bye.

Both opponents for their Christmas cycle, Hou and Pit, have the same amount of rest.  So they are not really disadvantaged.

Warren Sharp does a good job of compiling the rest advantages/disadvantages for every team. KC has had more rest than their opponents over the course of the season.

Another problem is that the Eagles don't match up too well with the Ravens.  The Ravens defense is giving up 25 PPG, but their run defense is one of the best in the league.  So their only strength on defense is a major counter to the Eagles' primary strength.   Hurts is gonna have to do the heavy lifting in this one.

Their secondary sucks but it's a good test for everything else
