Trevor just got killed

One of the dirtiest cheap shots I've seen in a long time.

He's taken all AP physics and math since he was a Junior in HS. I think the kid has what it takes but he's not as confident.

Im not trying to be a jerk, but do you think its truly a question of capability or a question of how much time do I want to devote to school work in college? What is the self doubt actually about?

If its TRULY about being smart enough- the reassurance is that the school has reviewed his transcripts, and deemed him to be worthy of acceptance. They dont accept everyone. They have a reputation to uphold for their program, and they chose him for a reason. They didnt just choose him, they offered him money for a reason. They want him. They believe he is capable of not just survival, but representing their fancy name.

If its more about how committed he really wants to be to school work, then you just need to weight the importance of a fancy engineering degree, vs a regular engineering degree. Can he get to where he wants to go with a regular one?

Will he be happier working hard but mixing in a bit more social life if it means a regular degree vs the fancy one? Or will that ruin his dream of landing whichever job he wants?

What happened?

Absolutely killed Lawrence when he was sliding

Fans started throwing stuff at Al-Shaair

0 needs a ban for that

He'll catch at least a one game suspension for the behavior afterwards. Maybe 2 games.

Though I do like that Trevor's teammates went after him for that

that looked like a football play to me. Moving at those speeds, wasnt enough time to let up for the Lawrence slide. And the slide is what caused helmet to helmet. It didnt look intentional at all. Reaction overboard. Unfortunate injury, but it was just a football play.

I can't believe they did offsetting penalties

C’mon, if Fletcher Cox told the Eagles that he wanted to come out of retirement to play for the Lions, you think it would be cool for the Eagles to say okay?

I think circumstance plays into this. If the Eagles were really bad, and Fletcher Cox wanted to come out of retirement to play for the lions to win another SB , I would have no problem with him doing it. Would suck seeing him do that but he did enough for this franchise I’d allow for it. If you were talking about the Eagles are really good and the lions are really good (like today), and he was like I wanna come out retirement to play for lions that’s a different set of circumstances. you’re competing with lions for that Super Bowl so you don’t want them getting any better

I’d say that shows how worthless defensive rankings are more than anything. Watching the Titans this year their defense doesn’t pass the #2 defense eye test.

Actually, good point, just looked at how many points they've given up this season and it's 7th most at 290, how that calculated out to the #2 defense is beyond me

Come on. You’d be ok  if that happen to hurts?

Uh... yes. There was nothing the defender should have done differently. It was a football play. Injuries happen.

Mad Ladd with over 100 first half yards.

you say McConkey, I say McH….

Should’ve kicked out and likely a hefty fine. Lawrence begins his slide here

So if they lose to the #1 team in the nation, they fall out of a home game to start the playoffs ?  Most rankings had them as a home team before Saturday.

Most rankings assumed PSU would be sitting on their couches 11-1 this weekend going into playoff selection.  We will know their fate before the game though…if Texas manages to beat UGA they might be safe in the 4 spot regardless of the outcome.  Especially if the selection committee openly and blatantly punishes ND for refuses to join a conference for football.  Worst case scenario is Georgia and SMU winning.

Yeah, and Al Shaair took no more steps. He began his dive there too. It was a bang bang play.

He did take steps after he started the slide. Lol

That wasn't my point. But yeah, if we didn't want him and he wanted to play and another team wanted him, then yes I think that wouldn't be right and the player shouldn't be forced to not play. But it sounds much more complicated than what I was thinking any way.

There’s this thing called a contract they sign.

It was definitely a dirty hit. He had plenty of time to change direction

By rule, the call was a late hit which is a dead ball foul. And the ensuing melee were also dead ball fouls, so since all calls are dead ball fouls, they have to offset regardless of the proportion of calls on each team. They have discretion on ejections, so the surprising part was them ejecting the Jags player too. They could've just elected Al-Shahir if they wanted too.
