Actually, good point, just looked at how many points they've given up this season and it's 7th most at 290, how that calculated out to the #2 defense is beyond me

Total Yards Allowed per Game

Im not trying to be a jerk, but do you think its truly a question of capability or a question of how much time do I want to devote to school work in college? What is the self doubt actually about?

If its TRULY about being smart enough- the reassurance is that the school has reviewed his transcripts, and deemed him to be worthy of acceptance. They dont accept everyone. They have a reputation to uphold for their program, and they chose him for a reason. They didnt just choose him, they offered him money for a reason. They want him. They believe he is capable of not just survival, but representing their fancy name.

If its more about how committed he really wants to be to school work, then you just need to weight the importance of a fancy engineering degree, vs a regular engineering degree. Can he get to where he wants to go with a regular one?

Will he be happier working hard but mixing in a bit more social life if it means a regular degree vs the fancy one? Or will that ruin his dream of landing whichever job he wants?

All the same thoughts I've been running through my head for months. I know he's capable of completing their engineering program. We're just concerned about the work/life balance for those 4 years.

As far as jobs go, he'll have much better prospects graduating for a prestigious school. After that it's all about performance. But better schools have better networks.

I guess I'm just adding the blog to the many sources I've already asked for feedback. I didn't go to a big school. He'll, I'm the first person ever in my family to have a Masters.

I really don’t know what to look for here so I could be way off, but he still looks kinda gingerly moving through warmups

Probably not worth it then…

Franklin finally brought in an imaginative OC.  Different play with him and that defense is so stocked.  Realistically think they have a chance against Oregon.

Franklin is still the HC…that’s the worry.  I’d hate to see some outsider come in and win the Big 10 in their first year there though.  I’m certainly rooting for PSU.

One good thing about having HE and RTK in the blog is no matter how bad of a take you have, it will never be as dumb as 99% of what they post.

That punch was just a bang-bang play, bro. Happens all the time in football.

When I first saw it I thought it was late but the replay looks bad. His two teammates with their hands up going WTH was interesting as well.

Zach Ertz broke a tackle?

Challenge accepted.

They count as June 1sts but they both retired and were not cut.  Note that when players retire from a team, they sign a one day contract and I am pretty sure that means that team also retains their rights.

For a one-day contract? Until when? It's not like they retain them indefinitely.

If he really wants the fancy degree to land a fancy job, and he really isnt sure if he is smart enough, couldn't he start there and transfer to one of the other schools if he isnt cutting it?

Theres probably nothing to lose by going if its what he really wants.

Its really important for him to figure out if its what he really wants though cause if not, theres no sense in putting himself through the stress. And although theyre giving money, he can probably still do it cheaper elsewhere cant he?

No, but my son’s roommate at PSU when they were having to decide what area of engineering raised that a bit.  My son is an aerospace engineer.  That’s the hardest to get into and required the highest GPA.  He was concerned they would let him in but he got in with no problems.  His roommate’s first choice was nuclear engineering because he didn’t have the grades for aerospace.  That floored me, because, I mean I don’t want to drop out of the sky because the plane was designed poorly, but I also don’t want to glow in the dark.  Both got in to their selected choices.  PSU is a tough engineering program.  My son took the AP classes your son did.  I am sure he will be fine.  Side note: the roommate is now a nuclear engineer at Peach Bottom.

That's good to hear. I know he can do it. He knows he can do it. I guess it will just be 4 years of parental reassurance, confidence boosting.

(Don't believe anyone who tells you raising children gets easier the older they get)

Everyone just remembers disagreeing. They never go back and correct the score card when time proves me right.

Its not always easy living ahead of the curve. But some of us do it. RTK is not one.

With a pulled hamstring, even if he looks 100% normal, he still might not be ready. It can be a really deceiving injury where you feel completely healed well before it's actually healed. I've tweaked or re-injured mine so many times over the years because I thought I was good enough to play on it. You basically need to add an extra week or two from when you start to think it's back to 100% health.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen someone sign a 1 day contract if they retire with the team they last played for though.  I’m fairly certain 1 days are for players like Ertz in a year or 2 or Jason Peters in about 10 for example.

Jacksonville may become a better team now with Mac Jones at QB.

Ertz doing well at Washington. Solid fantasy pickup too

Pin this, in about 18-19 years I’ll be having the same convo I’m sure lol.

They are so much worse with Mac.
