Just to beat a dead horse for a little fun…Lamar Jackson has 2 MVP awards and 2 career postseason wins.  Barry Sanders has 1 MVP award and 1 career postseason win.

I’m not aware of anyone else in all of the 4 major sports with the same ratio of MVP awards to playoff games won.  Sort of a fascinating distinction.

edit: Mike Trout takes exception to this post.

Embiid has an mvp and 0 eastern conference finals appearances

Ravens?

I think it would be a hilarious storyline if we got the cardinals in the divisional round. I can imagine the things said to Gannon during that game.

We beat them so yes

But he’s won more playoff games than I care to count and 5 playoff series (more equivalent to an NFL playoff game)…and yes…he’s earned his reputation as a playoff failure.

2 playoff wins for a guy with 2 MVP awards is a massive playoff failure ratio.

Getting Harbaugh might be the greatest thing for that franchise.  at least you know he’s gonna maximize the talent before he is gone. I feel like the Chargers always had talented rosters and just completely underachieved .

Didn’t they say those were the odds after they lost.

I just saw the time stamp on the phone around 5PM and assumed it was EST but good point

Before the Texans game, he had a five week stretch where he had 17 incompletions , 11 touchdown passes and 0 ints. He was completing 84% of his passes and had a 146 qb rating. He was awful in the Texans game but outside of that game he has had 18 touchdown passes to four interceptions and has a QB rating of 106.

Goff has a tight window throw percentage of 11.6% (30th in NFL), average air yards per attempt of 7.3 yards (28th in NFL), average target separation of 3.9 yards (4th highest in NFL). Of course his completion percentage is remarkable. He takes very few chances and he leads the NFL in play action pass percentage (37.2%)  and is 27th in the NFL in deep pass percentage (8.3%). I mean the consecutive completion streak is cool and all, but there has been little difficulty with the exception of the Texans game which the Lions found themselves behind in. Goff is an average starting QB that found a good fit on a team that runs more than it throws and where the running production has nothing to do with the QB.

You know why Hurts gets criticized on here?  Because it's an Eagles message board and he's the QB of the team we root for.

Chargers have a chance to go on a run besides the ravens and chiefs on their schedule, they are likely the favorite in the rest of their games.

vs. Ravens

At Atlanta

At Kc

Vs. tampa bay

Vs. Denver

At New England

at raiders

i don’t think it’s unthinkable they beat the chiefs.

You can think whatever you want, Vegas has him as a top three MVP candidate. I’m not even a huge Jared Goff fan. I think the offensive line being as good as it is and hi the weapons makes his job a lot easier. Plus having Ben Johnson But I’m not gonna argue he is not a top five MVP candidate today. I think you would find very few people that would say he’s not. His overall numbers and body of work and Vegas says he is. He’s 3rd in TD passes and 3rd in QB rating. And yards per pass he’s top 3.

Chargers are going to be a 5 or 6 seed that can best the Texans in rd1.

Could beat the Ravens too.

But they could lose to one of Atlanta, Denver, TB too.

I think Hurts was in 2nd place this time last year in Vegas.

That’s fine. I didn’t say Jared Goff couldn’t fall off the face of the planet and not be in the top five. But if you’re gonna ask me today where he would be, it’s ridiculous not to have him in the top five. He’s top 3 in passing tds, qb rating, completion percentage and yards per pass. And his statistics might be even better if they didn’t have to pull in from games multiple times.

Thats why I always felt the Chargers were the Eagles. Great team that just couldn't quite put it together. Cunninghams injury/ Patriots cheating. Always something.

It’s on Monday night against the ravens in LA. I wouldn’t be shocked if they do. Their defense has been good most of the year. It’s not the Steelers but it could definitely give the ravens issues

Bengals PR is slow just slow

Jesse Minter has Burrow just confused. Said it for a while now, dude is a stud DC

I can see it. But I think the chargers have wasted more talent at QB than the eagles. You can argue having Dan Fouts, Drew Brees before he left to go to the Saints and Philip Rivers and never made it to a SB with any of them. And now they’ve started Herbert’s career by wasting it with Staley and Lynn.

Given that I hate the new playoff format, it’s worth looking at the 2 seeds getting screwed over not getting a bye and the 3rd wild card teams that should be sitting home on wild card weekend.

Right now, we’ve got Bills and Eagles going bye-less as the 2 seeds.

And Commanders and Broncos as the last-in wild cards that wouldn’t have been.

Meh….give us the bye.

They are going to be a 5 or 6 seed in the playoffs you don’t want to face cause of their defense. I expect them in the offseason to add better talent to the tight end and wr position

I fully expect within 10 years there won’t be a bye for the 1 seed.

My point is Hurts is going to get criticized more because he's our QB.

We tend to be harder on our own players, no?

And it's only because we want the best out of them.😉
