My point is Hurts is going to get criticized more because he's our QB.

We tend to be harder on our own players, no?

And it's only because we want the best out of them.😉

I fully expect within 10 years there won’t be a bye for the 1 seed.

I understand that the change is *working* for the NFL.  We still watch.  They have more games to make money.  Decision = success.

But it unquestionably has deteriorated the product of the regular season for me.  Call me negative, but statistically, the Eagles are VERY likely to slide into the #2 seed.  Who really cares about 2 vs 3 vs 4 if it doesn’t give you a bye and you start the playoffs at home before a reshuffling in the divisional playoffs?  Yeah I know home is better…but the marginal benefit between the 2 and 4 seeds is still TINY compared to what it used to be.  And that means the marginal importance or our remaining regular season games is likewise diminished.

As I said when they made the change…any team that misses these expanded playoffs never had SB aspirations in the first place.  So their regular season is already devalued.  Once legit playoff teams fall out of the #1 seed race, their regular season gets devalued.

If you take away the #1 seed bye, it’ll be the NBA…where the regular season is background entertainment and nothing of consequence happens until teams get eliminated in the playoffs.

Burrow sucks

I don’t disagree with you. I just look at it this way, the owners are always trying to make more money. That’s why we’re having all these international games now. So I look at it this way, that’s two extra games they get on wildcard weekend.  that’s more money in their pocket. That’s all this comes down to. They’re also going to have 18 games instead of 17, it’s simply a matter of money in their pockets

Even with Higgins back, this Bengals offense still looks anemic.

They've been scoring points just not tonight.

Chargers might be legit defensively.  They haven't really played any great offenses until tonight but they are holding them in check.

Taylors don't belong in the NFL. Bad coaches.

Chargers defense has been really good. Giving up 13.1 ppg this year. Only one team has reached 20 points against them. I get they haven’t played great offenses but that’s still pretty impressive

Rams have a bad defense.

Their offense may not rank highly, but I think they are going to be very dangerous heading into next week.  Healthy and clicking.

Packers in Brazil was the only real back and forth high scoring game we’ve seen this year.  This could be one of those.

Their OL is a mess

Honestly the eagles should be able to score 30+ in that game. Besides their pass rush, their back seven is just not very good.

Yeah true, hard to separate how much is the chargers being stingy or just the Bengals misfiring of their own accord.

Tbh i think the bengals oline is still an issue. It’s not nearly as bad as it was when burrow got there. Mack isn’t even playing for the chargers tonight but they have 3 sacks and 7 Qb hits in 3 quarters

Ouch

Yep.  Only excuse for not pulling that off is if it’s a pace of game where they do not have to (ie defense holds the Rams down, Eagles effectively control the clock with long drives).

If the Rams find a way to score, the Eagles should be able to run it up beyond them.

Regardless, the Rams are a respectable team, regardless of record.  This is a mini-gauntlet.  Commanders/Rams/Ravens/Panthers/Steelers/Commanders.

6 weeks, 5 respectable teams.  2 potentially particularly good ones from the AFC.  Only 1 doormat.

Bengals right back in it.

I guess no one questions it when you score a game changing TD on the next play, but the Bengals will likely miss that timeout.

Burrow heard me call his offense anemic and is out to prove my dumb ass wrong.

Eagles best performance of the season was the defense locking Burrow down in the second half of their game. He’s the MVP if they somehow make the playoffs. He has to put up 35 points every week just for a chance with that defense.

If we went 4-2, I’d be pretty content. I think that’s good for that stretch. It’s probably the toughest of the season and 3 of the 6 are away. If they go 4-2, I’m not sure you get the 1 seed. Would need the lions to lose 3 times and have tiebreakers go your way. Frankly the loss to Atlanta feels like it may loom large with the 1 seed
