Which is better? QB B has a hell of a lot more passing yards.

Pick A because without looking it up it's gotta be Foles/Brady and I will never slight Foles

Plus, Pick B was throwing to people with 5-10 yards of separation the entire 2nd half .... to the point where the owner had to ask the DC WTF?, even while he was drinking champagne.

Bit jarring the offense is that predictable. Is this the result of having to dumb things down so much for Hurts?

Richard Sherman knocked the wind out of me a bit today as well on his blog talking about how it's concerning it is they have to rely on SB when the Ravens didn't have amazing corners. He said what many of us worry about, which is in the playoffs they will contain him and he isn't sure we'll be able to throw.

Hurts is the absolute weak link on what should be an offensive powerhouse because of the talent.

AJ was getting what he wanted in the 2nd quarter and decided to not throw his way again

Tough game yesterday and nice to get the W.  Even if you take away the last BMore drive the Ravens still outgained the Eagles by 50 yards and had a large advantage in TOP.  The difference really were the Ravens two long drives in the 3rd quarter where they came away with nothing.  Credit to the D there of course for holding the Ravens to FG attempts.  Had the Ravens scored points on those drives then it would have come down to the final possession which it probably should have it you look at the game over all.

Both teams had issues.  The Ravens were lucky not to lose the ball on three or four fumbles in key situations.  The Eagles were sloppy early with lots of penalties.

It was a big mental and physical effort to get the W yesterday.  I thought going in they might just get rolled with a lack of ability to match the Ravens intensity but of course that didn't happen.  No doubt we will have a hard time being ready this weekend but really need to bring a professional approach and not mess it up against the Panthers.

Well, another week, another win where we pull away in the 4th quarter. It's weird, but I had confidence Moore and Fangio would figure it out after the terrible start. Would be nice if maybe we started a game well just once...

OFFENSE

- Solid B+ game from Hurts. Nothing spectacular, but made plays when he had to with his arm and his legs. The start was brutal (0-4 IIRC), but then he settled in and started making plays. Recovering the fumble and getting the TD was a huge play (where he arguably erased his own mistake, but that whole play seemed off). He and Barkley started working the read option game very well on the TD drive to go up 2 scores. And once again, he played a clean game. Winning at LA and at Baltimore without DeVonta is a huge bonus, and Hurts played clean and efficiently in both games. SIDE NOTE: Hurts made a comment about the throw to Dotson, how it didn't work in practice and this time Dotson was where he was supposed to be. It feels like Hurts takes a LONG time to trust a receiver and/or Dotson has been slow to pick up the playbook. Either way, makes the success without DeVonta more impressive.

- Saquon really is simply inevitable. It's at the point now that I am surprised if he hasn't broken one by the middle of the 4th quarter. To do that to the number 1 rush defense, when we were missing one of our top receivers, is bananas. And kudos again to Moore for sticking with it. The analogy has been used a lot, but this team really is a boxer that just pounds a team with body blows all day and then watches the opponent collapse in the fourth quarter.

- Undefeated when AJ Brown plays is no longer a coincidence. 5 for 66 is a slow day for him, but the slants are really unstoppable. We need to go to those more often and stop with Moore's love affair with curl routes.

- The offensive line crushed the Ravens in this game and took their souls. Mailata is just so incredible - he may be better than Lane at this point. Jurgens is really coming on lately, and Becton is a monster in the run game. Running for 140 on that team is insanely impressive.

DEFENSE

- The Ravens' offense was on a historic pace comparable to the 1999 Rams, and we basically held them to 12 points. If you want to call it 19 because of Tucker's misses...ok, though 47 and 53 yard FGs aren't gimmes. 302 yards before the garbage time TD. Just ridiculous how well this defense is playing after last year's D looked like the worst in the league.

- OK NFL, what exactly is offensive holding? Because apparently what is happening to Jalen Carter on basically every play isn't holding now? Ravens were also holding Williams and Ojomo, and just nothing. Shane Haff had a crazy stat -- the Eagles are the 5th least penalized team in the league, but they have only had less penalties than their opponent in 2 games this year. The Ravens are a high penalty team and had tons of holding calls before this game. Refs simply don't call penalties on the Eagles' opponents. It's getting old.

- Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt both played very well. Nolan is now a legit starting edge - imagine saying that a year ago. And Hunt really stepped up in BG's absence. When we get Huff back, hopefully we can deploy him and a pass rush specialist and bring out his best.

- Zach Baun is an all-pro and I will hear no debate on the topic. He and Dean have been revelations.

- Quinyon is just so steady and consistent, he never gives a QB anywhere to throw the ball. The upgrade from Bradberry (worst CB in NFL last year) to Q has been so drastic.

- Oh, and Maddox to DeJean has been almost as big. Having 2 rookie DBs playing like this is insane.

- Tristan McCollum is the unsung hero of the game. Stepped in for Reed and we didn't miss a beat.

No DeVonta or Slay. Lose Reed during the game. BG gone. On the road against a good team. And...we blasted them. Monster showing.

Can’t believe I’m asking this but at what point do they look at playing Bradberry instead of Maddox in his limited snaps? Maddox only plays a couple snaps a game but every time it’s a complete disaster. Would have been yesterday if Agholor didn’t have the drop. Teams are begging him to hit the field at this rate.

One more note -- it did appear a lot of Jalen's checks resulted in nice plays. His growth in that area has been nice to see.

A great experience at M&T Bank Stadium yesterday.

There were at least 20-25% Eagles fans there.  The couple to my right were Eagles fans.  The guy to my son's left was an Eagles fan.  All over the stadium.  And we were loud enough to make it sound 50/50.  Ravens fans started filing out after they failed on 4th down with about 6 minutes left.  Eagles fans stayed and were loud/obnoxious through the end.

It was a game of four quarters.  It felt lucky to only be down to the Ravens and Referees 9-0 after the first quarter.  Then we looked like the best team on earth for about 10 minutes, going up 14-9.  Then the offense disappeared in the third quarter.  And then, as expected, the Oline and Saquon closed out the game.

I have full confidence in Fangio and his boys at this point.  We would have shut out any team with a QB not named Lamar.  The Dline was active and effective (while never being held ????).  The tackling was solid.  Baun, Mitchell, and DeJean will be perennial Probowlers.

Keep up the attention to detail and shift the focus to the Panthers.

You forgot to include the receiving TD for QB A vs. the drop by QB B.

Also... context matters.   QB A had a running game to lean on much more than QB B.  So, he didn't have to do as much statistically.

I see Lanes comment more as a compliment to Roquan Smith and not that he was actually calling out every play. Can't be that predictable if nobody else since Luke Kuechly has been able to call out plays.

I don't think there's any team that can do that when the OL is healthy. This running game has always been good and a foundation of this team. Barkley just takes it to another level that we haven't seen. They just went against one of the best run defenses in the league and went for 140 yards and they will have another test against the steelers who are top 5 against the run.

Playing next to Jalen Carter is fun...

Jalen seems to be throwing the ball away quite a bit more, rather than forcing a throw that isn't there.

Yet another game without a turnover from Jalen, too!

Tbh been a theme with the eagles. They’ll be times in games where they’ll pepper him with targets then forget about him for 1-2 quarters. Yesterday was a reflection of that. The other issue is they don’t target him enough in the red zone. The fact that he has just 4 targets in the red zone this year is absurd.

Maddox has absolutely no idea what hes doing when hes out there. There is ALWAYS a blown assignment, whether its him, or him telling someone to cover the wrong person.

It's an interesting side plot to me to see Williams and Alim McNeil both succeed in the league after the draft room drama with Howie and that scout when Detroit jumped us to get McNeil. Seems to have worked out well for both sides.

He's played his way into a big contract. I don't think he will be here next year but I hope Howie can find a way.

Yeah, lack of context was the point of the post. 500 passing yards looks good, but when you lose, was it really great?

Yea, I said something similar last night. This isn't a knock on Hurts, but if he's now being asked to be a game managing QB, throwing for between 150-200 yards per game, his salary should be looked at.

Game managing QBs that keep turnovers to a bare minimum and are also a significant running threat (and help the RB1 be more successful because of that) should be paid well.  Not top of the market well, but he will be out of the top ten in average QB pay this time next year…and closer to middle of the pack in terms of compensation.

Sometimes I think that people often forget that he wasn’t the only QB to get the bag.  And he got it early enough for it to now be considered fine…relatively speaking

Because it wasn’t, it didn’t look like they were committed to a competent passing attack either…or were they..by targeting Campbell and covey in a key situation? Look yo…NO MATTER how ANYBODY up here, ANY media personalities or ANY subversives associated with The Eagles wants to slice it. Hurts THREW the ball and ran it to get the first TD. And ran and threw the ball (in the middle of the field where "eagles fans” kept whining by instruction) to move up the field in the 2nd qtr. to give the team the lead. EF all that sideways nonsense y’all up here cater to to try to undermine crediting The QB.

My bad, how dare I not sing the praises of the guy whose fault it was we couldn't move the ball the first 3 drives in the first place.
