This is fair and that's what I'm more of less okay with. I lean towards if you ask him to put on a cape and be Superman he won't do it consistently, but if things continue as is and the defense continues as is, it's a winning formula

We've been playing with leads, but this is still remarkable. The Hurts hate is getting ridiculous at this point.

He had 11 completions yesterday. LOL

Switching gears from Hurts...

Given what Baun has been able to do and the defense in general, I am going to trust Fangio when he wants to bring players in that might not seem like a great move to begin with.

He's been far and away the best DC we've had in some time

I wonder how much Nick is involved in the first part of games? They seem to improve so is that Moore adjusting or being more free to be himself?

Why do we create so many excuses for QB1? He has been the problem his whole career as a passer outside of one season. We are limited by his inability to play the qb position at a high level. He sucks

Garbage take.

He is Elite.  He is the best QB in the NFC and a top 5 QB in the NFL.

Compelling argument. Care to expand on your middle school take?

Yep seems like the team is really in trouble. Maybe just like enjoy what's happening? Or just continue to be miserable I guess. More entertaining for us anyway honestly.

Second, he's average 207 passing yards a game this season. A game manager can absolutely hit a deep throw per game. Let's not pretend like he's throwing 35 yard bombs all day.

Ok, I'll bite. Name a game manager that hits deep Balls like that. Brady? 😄

And he could never run like Hurts..

Watching it live, didn't notice a ton of Tyler Steen. I'd rather him on the field than any TE3.

What’s middle school about it? We had a horrible 1st qtr and 3 total yards in the 3rd qtr. 50 mil on a qb that isn’t worth half of that. Thank god for Barkley

yup...the blog wouldn't be the same if we didn't have the Monday morning trolls...they used to be called negadelphs but over time they have just evolved to trolls

It's a question for the future but what happens when we use up Barkley and have to move on? You don't find a RB with that type of talent in FA (thank you Giants). Would Howie actually spend a high pick on a RB?

Barkley is a generational talent, so no, you won’t likely be able to sign him as a free agent again.

But with that said, you absolutely CAN find a top end talent through FA or trades. CMC, Henry, Jacobs and Jones all recently switched teams.

And yes, I think Howie would absolutely use a high pick on a RB. Rumor is CMC was our top target in 2017. Howie has taken Shady and Sanders in the second round. We gave Westbrook a big contract.

Frankly, it won’t shock me at all if we take a RB in the first 2 rounds this coming draft. Gainwell is a free agent. Barkley has 1, maybe 2 years left here, and will be hitting that three zero age after, so I doubt he gets extended much if at all.

This draft is loaded at RB with big, talented, physical players who can shoulder 15+ rushes per game. It’s the perfect opportunity to get a quality prospect in here to learn behind Barkley, take some of the load off him, and provide depth in case of injury. Then in the rookie’s 3rd season he’s the starter.

Being critical of the most important position on offense isn’t being miserable.

I'm not arguing he's not efficient, though. I'm saying he's a game manager. His yards are low because his attempts are low. That's fine. It's because we're asking him to do very little. To me, that is a game manager. No one is saying that you can't win with it or be efficient with it. So no, I don't think I am.

I don't think the term "game manager" applies in Hurts' case.  Game managers don't play 4th quarters the way Hurts plays them and they can't put the team on their back for a couple of key 4th quarter drives mixing QB running and passing to win games as Hurts has done over the years.  I do agree his pure drop back passing is along the lines of what a game manager normally can accomplish so I get where the association comes from and there is clearly an overlap.

Definitely a lot of crow to go around with regards to Fangio

My guy, its your oversimplified takes. Elaborate a little, throw some thought into it.

But your not just being critical. You come in here and proclaim he's garbage and the worst QB in the league.

Those seem to be more the exception though. Also CMC's durability is looking to be ending already

My bad. 11 completions is great. What a player. Worth every penny. That 31st ranked passing defense he faced must’ve been a fake stat, they’re way better than that

There were people arguing in here that the 49ers last year were carrying Brock Purdy and that he was a glorified game manager, despite averaging more total yards than Hurts is this season.

He also led the NFL in yards/attempt
