This team has two warts at this point.

1 - slow starts.

2 - Avonte Maddox.

If they could figure out the slow starts this team would be almost unstoppable.

If they could keep Maddox off the field, the defense would become that much stronger.

I think really it’s the offense. I know the defense has had slow starts but really the offense takes far too long to get going! Especially given the talent on offense. It’s all too predictable and vanilla. But maybe that’s their plan for the regular season? If it is then what a game plan that is!

The offense is the bigger culprit, no doubt.  When the defense is left on the field for 12 of the 15 minutes, that hurts them too.

Fortunately the team has been superb at adjustments, but... it would be nice if they needed fewer adjustments.  Scoring an opening drive touchdown should be within the realm of possible once this season.  This Sunday is likely their best opportunity left.

Yeah I think I’ve booked the hotel from the Saturday through to the Tuesday. May look to go a day earlier on the Friday. But we’ve got to get there first.

Understood.  An extra day would be nice but of course that depends on how easy it is for you to get time off, etc.

Game - You need to decide what type of atmosphere you want.  Personally, I never want to watch an Eagles SB in a large group as I really want to be able to hear everything and give 100% concentration on all the details.  If you want that then there are a number of larger sports bars you can look into such as Xfinity or Chickies & Petes.  For the '17 game I booked a nice airbnb flat which was perfect for me.  I had a couple of old friends with me to soak in every second.  We did the town before and after the game.  Early Feb isn't a hot tourist time of the year so it wasn't a problem to book it just after the Eagles won the NFC.  For a compromise, you could also go to a more local corner bar of which there are many though those would be packed.  We were in those before the game and mostly just did the streets after which were insane.  Either way you can't really go wrong.  Check this vid for a bunch of different atmospheres.

Uh oh, HE is now going to have to post something positive about Winston.

Not HE but it's easy to say something positive about Winston. He's entertaining and said without a hint of sarcasm.

Refuse to believe that Ricks/Ringo/Brown are worse than Maddox in the slot.

When Slay returns, Rodgers HAS to take his place there. Otherwise, what are we doing?

For the defense, the 1-2 possession lag makes sense.  Unless they just guess correctly, they're not sure what the opponent is going to do so there's a little adjustment period.

For the offense it makes no sense.  My only theory at this point, other than the coaches being terrible at game planning but awesome at adjusting, is they intentionally try tendency breakers early in the game.  If those are successful, then the opposition is thoroughly f'ed.  Because if they can't stop Covey or Shipley, they have absolutely no chance of stopping AJ or Saquon at any point.

And this makes sense in a way.  Because if you had to choose, when would be the best time to throw in a Covey WR screen?  The earlier the better

My only critiques against Q — who has obviously been outstanding —are (1) it’s difficult to know his responsibilities because we play so much zone and (2) his lack of turnovers.

But I wouldn’t argue too much if you had him at #2. For me though, Baun seems to be the glue of this defense.

Fair enough. You could also throw in that Baun is undoubtedly a big reason for Dean’s improvement

Well done Timberwolves. Only change is the wrong choice of shoes.

Maybe Ricks.  Ringo is exclusively an outside CB, doesn’t have the hips and CoD for playing inside or a hybrid position.  Brown is a S…he’s still raw, instincts are suspect, and he absolutely needs to be coming downhill to make a play.  I suppose from what I’ve seen if the instincts were there he has the athleticism…but the instincts arent’ there.

It's a mystery to me why Fangio hasn't gotten Brown involved. Seems like the type of player that he loves.

I'm sure there's a reason, but it's pretty shocking to me that he's only been on ST this year.

Has Baun been extended yet?

Dejean was relegated for 4 games (?) for missing camp, I figure that Sydney is in the same boat coming off of PUP.

Given that Avonte is only on the field for a couple snaps, maybe kick Rodgers in on that package and get Ringo some experience outside (seems like Vic is pretty set against guys playing multiple positions though, keeps the depth chart on rails).

Maddox should be released

Possibly....it will be interesting to see what happens this week since it looks like Reed will be out.

At some point I feel like this team needs to start faster. I get that Moore likes to use the first couple of drives to see what the defense is doing but at some point we may need to take the game to teams. I mean both LA and Baltimore had opportunities to be 14-0 up before we made adjustments. At some point that could bite us!

Personally I want a hyped up atmosphere with lots of fellow Eagles fans. I watch every game at home or in an empty bar on a Sunday evening so it’ll be great to watch it amongst our fans. I was thinking both Xfinity and Chickies & Petes funnily enough.

Given that McCollum did fine, I’d be surprised if Sydney leapfrogs the order.

I'd prefer never doing it unless the game is already "over"

So in your opinion…

A. 3500 passing 700 rushing

B. 3800 passing

B had the better season?

Better season? What's that have to do what I said? You seem to be missing my point and confusing me with someone else
