Heck, they are so strong that on the bad snap against the Ravens, they still scored.

I still can't believe that wasn't called dead for a false start.  Dickerson left VERY early on that.   I wonder if the linesman couldn't tell if that was Dickerson or Jurgens on the initial movement.  But, the Eagles clearly got away with one on that.  Should have been 1st and goal from the 6, instead of a TD.

It was about how the 26 total TDs were misleading because some of them were brotherly shoves and others were "stolen" from Barkely led drives.

A yard counts the same. A TD counts the same. The purpose of the season is not to get Barkely TDs so he can have better odds for the MVP award. The fact that he's even in that conversation shows that Hurts' TDs are not diminishing him.

Doesn't matter who gets the TD and yards until it's recognition time (contract, pro bowl, all pro, hall of fame, etc.)

If that's what originated it, it wasn't my point. I said quite literally "it is what it is" with the whole TD thing.

The MVP talk after the fact was to explain what I meant by "diminished". A player with more TD's is going to look better than a player with less TD's when you aren't considering the context behind it. It's common sense.

MVP votes, All-pro votes, Pro Bowl votes etc aren't going to consider much context. They also don't consider "team goals". So the tush push is making Barkley's season seem less than what it actually is to the people that won't care about context.

If you don't care and consider the context behind it all, great. Eagles fans should view it that way. But I was talking about generally how the stats are perceived among everyone and anyone.

If Saquon didn’t drop that ball 😞

If Sirianni didn't pass on the early FG... and didn't mismanage the end of the game.

Why was he wearing a necklace during the game anyway?  :nonono:

It's a mystery to me why Fangio hasn't gotten Brown involved. Seems like the type of player that he loves.

I'm sure there's a reason, but it's pretty shocking to me that he's only been on ST this year.

Been nursing an injury for a few weeks now.

I never understood how players in any sport can play with their long hair hanging like that.  Especially basketball players.

People here seem on edge this morning about TDs and credit for TDs, so I'm just gonna throw this in here:

That Josh Allen receiving TD against SF was pure B.S.  Cooper's forward progress was clearly stopped and the play should have been blown dead before the lateral.  I didn't mention it in real time because it was the Niners (and F them), but this seems the perfect time to bring it up.

I tried to convince my ex-wife of that.

The whole conversation was based on how stats are listed and perceived around the entire league. No one outside of Philly is going to credit Barkley for a brotherly shove which only has one tangible stat attached to it, which is a TD. So Barkley absolutely gets diminished when Hurts gets those TD’s and Barkley doesn’t. Had Barkley gotten those TD’s over Hurts and had a stat line of 1,800+ yards from scrimmage and closer to 20 TD’s than his current 13, his MVP odds would absolutely be higher.

Diminished to shallow fans that really don’t perceive the whole game and fantasy football players.  Individual stats are BS.  It’s basing a DT’s performance on tackling and sack stats.

Agreed. But that's basically anyone that votes on awards or uses stats in general.

Indeed. We've already seen and discussed (a little) the return of the Wing T. We routinely line a TE up in the wing and motion him before the snap or pull him after the snap. We run the read option and the RPO, both of which have been around the college game forever. We even brought back the fullback lead. On our third play of the last game we had two halfbacks lined up with Hurts, motioned one, faked to the other, and threw a swing pass to the motioned man. Only a great play by the safety kept that from being a huge play. If he had stayed home on the fake to Saquon, Shipley might still be running.

Watch the All 22.  Eagles lined up in a Wing T at least a couple times against the Ravens with Uzomah in the wing.  He looked like he was lined up at FB in a split on one play.

Steve Young was the closest ever to a 'pure' passing and receiving TD on the same play, iirc.   Ball was batted directly back to him (no reception by a teammate) and he caught it and nearly ran it in himself.

Allen's effort was nice and all, and having the snow in the background adds to it, but a self hook and lateral is less impressive to me than the self-pass off the defender.   Shame he couldn't take it into the end zone there.

From Kempski.

That is 15 of the 21 starters (we kinda rotate WR3/TE2).  Johnson, Slay, and Goedert are over 27.  Baun, Becton, and Sweat are FAs.

We are in a good spot.

Mariota did it and scored. He looked awfully close to crossing the LOS though.
