He sucks anyways

Mac Jone came in and made it a game. Seems even a bad QB with QB skills is better than a bad QB without QB skills who can run fast.

Probably? Pitts can’t block his own shadow.

Yeah, the only way Pitts is a plus blocker is if you put him in the slot and the defense counters with man coverage and a corner lined up across from him.

Watched some All-22, focusing on Jordan Davis. He played really well. Stout in the run game. Even showed a pass rush move I hadn't seen before. Reminiscent of Carter's club move.

Progress.

He def stood out quite a few times to me.

So he’s Zach Ertz?

A real missed opportunity to incorrectly use "dominate” here

If you thought Calc was bad at blocking…

Yet the eagles have Calcaterra on the roster and drafted him with a late round pick. ertz couldn’t block very well for much of his eagles tenure. Eagles taking a chance on a TE that has athleticism to be versatile as could also play some WR and former top 10 pick for a late round pick doesn’t seem all that out of the question.

Wow.

He also just came back from a bad AC joint injury. I don’t think it’s just the concussion. I’d guess more he’s going to miss at least the next game and then what’s the point.

Could be.  Or they might just be looking to recoup cap money from their insurance plan on him.

Tbh before this hit i thought they might just let him sit out of the year at 2-9.

So he’s Zach Ertz?

That’s an interesting comparison. I’d say in a practical sense, yes.

Technically, Ertz is far more refined as a route runner, while Pitts is faster and more athletic.

Given this new Kellen Moore offense, how valuable is TEs? We're running a lot, which means they're blocking a lot. They're blocking/chipping even when we're passing.

Give me a better 2nd RB to spell Barkley than another TE who may not even be better than Calcaterra.

I’m sure he won’t get fined for this

I’ll leave that for the cap guys, but he’s a guy you want to keep around. I understand that might be an unpopular opinion in the blog, but I see the league as being cyclical…and the shift back to more ‘run-heavy’ offenses has just started.

I’ve seen some people go as far as labeling Davis as a bust (relative to his draft position).  I don’t.  If you let a player like that go, you are very likely to regret it later.

It’s a copycat league… And GMs will look at the top teams of this year and look at their numbers and why they were effective

Oh i agree and some of us have talked for years about how offense would pivot back to the run as defenses kept moving smaller to counter the pass

Pitts is a bust

OK, the Cooper DeJean tackle was great and all, but people acting like it was some huge hit are dumb. There were tweets saying that this hit is comparable to Sheldon Brown hitting Reggie Bush.

It was a huge hit but they shouldn't be comparing it to the Brown hit. And if we're being honest there are a lot of better tackles before that aren't legal now. Cooper's hit was just impressive because he wrapped up Henry and tackled him. You don't see too many players doing that him. Especially a rookie. You damn sure don't see too many defenders wrapping them up. It's the shoulder tap tackle nowadays

I remember people on here were drooling over pitts and he was going to be an unstoppable mismatch in every game... Lol. Not so much

I wasn’t a Kyle Pitts fan when he came out. I thought he was super overrated. However, my point when I brought this up today was if Atlanta is getting rid of him for a late round pick, I could see Howie being interested in him for that as a lotto ticket type acquisition.
