So much for all that praying

Apparently he did this after the appeal ruling. I’m sure will go well for him.

I wasn’t a Kyle Pitts fan when he came out. I thought he was super overrated. However, my point when I brought this up today was if Atlanta is getting rid of him for a late round pick, I could see Howie being interested in him for that as a lotto ticket type acquisition.

I mean he is still a playmaker and has has a decent career so far, just not what he was projected to be or worth the draft pick that high. So i think he is a bit more then just a lotto ticket since he is producing

I think the lotto part is falcons aren’t picking up his 5th year option. Likely want to move him rather than paying his last year of rookie deal and just letting him walk.  I could see them trading him for a 5th that has conditions where it becomes higher if he meets certain criteria.

Who was slynch then? I thought he was the cap guy? Maybe I'm mixing them up

shlynch was also really good with cap stuff ( he handed me my a$$ on a Fletcher Cox cap issue many many years ago). The difference between lynch and 35 was that lynch had a full time job as an economist, so for the most part his cap involvement was on a case by case basis as his time/work schedule allowed.  35 was a student and actually integrated analysis of cap questions and data into his academic work.  He put together an Eagles-specific predecessor to OTC and Spotrac that he shared with all of us on the EMB and with Joe Banner, who was the Howie at that time.

It was a huge hit but they shouldn't be comparing it to the Brown hit. And if we're being honest there are a lot of better tackles before that aren't legal now. Cooper's hit was just impressive because he wrapped up Henry and tackled him. You don't see too many players doing that him. Especially a rookie. You damn sure don't see too many defenders wrapping them up. It's the shoulder tap tackle nowadays

I wouldn’t even call it a "hit”. It was as sound as a form tackle you could ask for. I’m not saying it wasn’t great or anything either. It’s the type of tackle that will be on coaches tape for a while.

It’s hard to find an ideal position for Pitts, similar to Isaiah Simmons.  They’re both uber athletic with great measurables, but don’t really work in any one specialized position.

I would use Pitts as a slot WR and try to match him up against smaller DBs or slower LBs.  I doubt he has the route tree or fluidity to move to a pure WR, and IMO there’s no point trying to beef him up into a pure TE.  He’s strictly a mismatch guy IMO, but could still be a volume target in the right offense.

Concerning to me that his catch % has never been that great in the NFL.

I tend to agree with your assessment. How I’d utilize him. Tbh i don’t see us getting him. I just think if the price was low enough they’d definitely be intrigued. I actually could see a team like the chargers as they could use a weapon and harbaugh is a coach i could see getting the most out of him. I could even see Andy Reid taking a chance if the price was minimal as kelce isn’t getting any younger.

I remember people on here were drooling over pitts and he was going to be an unstoppable mismatch in every game... Lol. Not so much

I was the leader of the Kyle Pitts fan club and boy was I wrong about that one.

It would seem we no longer have to worry about Lane testing positive for something. Would think hes gone long enough for his positive tests to be set to 0 at this point under the new rules.

Pretty interesting how theres no penalty for fentanyl?

I can see why he has ridiculous athletic abilities for a tight end. I was just skeptical because i remember when Vernon Davis was drafted the same was said about him. Davis obviously had a nice career but, he wasnt at any point an unstoppable force either

Atlanta has to be kicking themselves when they look at the next 3 picks after Pitts. Chase, waddle and Sewell. I loved Sewell. Who i wanted the eagles to grab if they stayed at 6.

heck picks 9 and 10 too as it was surtain and Devonta smith

I dont think a NFL player would even mess with that crap. Its a poor mans drug, the homeless junkies overdose on that stuff on a regular basis.

The fact that they put that section specifically for that drug tells me that they are aware of players using it.

Actually, pretty sure it was me, but only because I knew there was no chance the Eagles were taking him.

I was never really on board with such an early TE. They never work out. And I didnt fall for the idea of drafting him as a WR just because he ran the 4.4. I wasnt really in that fan club at all.

My draft record is near perfect. I can not take the blemishes of others.
