UCLA is firing offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy after one season, a source confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.

The Bruins ranked 126th nationally in scoring (18.4 points per game) and failed to put up more than 20 points over their final four games. The Bruins finished 5-7 this season, failing to reach bowl eligibility.

Offensive line coach Juan Castillo also is not expected to return at UCLA, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Bieniemy joined coach DeShaun Foster's staff after calling plays for the NFL's Washington Commanders last season. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs and two Super Bowl teams.

Bieniemy's buyout is worth more than $1.2 million, a source told Thamel.

His agent, Jason Fletcher, told ESPN in a statement that Bieniemy's exit was "previously planned" and that "the plan was always to return to the NFL in 2025."

Trying to find the clip on twitter. Had nothing to do with the ball coming

also where are his ST snaps/penalties

All 22 shows all of his ST snaps and I don’t see all the penalties you see.  I saw a forced fumble and downing a punt at the four.  (Great English on the ball by Mann.)

😂

Juan Castillo's journey since he left Philly has been crazy.  Baltimore -> Buffalo -> UMichigan -> Bears -> Washington- > UCLA

I think Haff is wrong but it is speculation either way.  If Ringo MEGs, that entire side of the field is vulnerable.

I have no idea what play he is talking about.  No Ringo in MEG is his two defensive snaps.  He also doesn’t like Ringo’s ST play, I guess like the forced fumble on the tackle or downing the ball inside the five.  (He and Brown were so good on STs last Sunday.

I can understand someone having issues with Ringo on ST against Baltimore. In addition to having two boneheaded penalties called on him, he had an atrocious block on Gainwell’s kick return. I’m a Ringo fan (I guess I liked all of the Beatles though) but I can admit when he does things that are frustrating.

Did you miss the penalty where he drilled the Ravens punt returner when he called for a fair catch or the play where he was called for running out of bounds on a punt? Both infractions forced re-kicks.

Goodell moving that 2010 Vikings game to Tuesday when it wasn't at all necessary completely screwed the Eagles.  They play that game on Sunday then they get the #1 seed and likely go onto win the Super Bowl.  Instead that BS happened.

I forgot the hit on the fair catch.

Ringo blew up DeJean earlier in the year too as he was trying to field a punt

I’ve been wanting to mention this since the Ravens game but I’ve been traveling.

The QB draw they ran at 8:40 in the 4th Quarter was a thing of beauty.  The fake to Saquon had almost the entire defense fooled (and myself) so everyone was paying attention to Barkley while there was a nice gap for Hurts to get 10+ yards right up the middle.

I normally get annoyed at them running designed draws but that play was well designed and perfectly executed.  If they run QB draws that play should be the one they move forward with on most occasions, imo.

We're gonna get an Avonte package game aren't we? At least it's the Panthers.

Ringo was credited with a FF last week - totally forgot about that as we didn't recover any of the 3.

Well that’s BS. Not yours. His. Ringo’s man motions across the field and he drops into quarters. Shane Huff or whoever has no idea what he’s looking at. They’re playing zone, NOT MEG.

CJGJ and McCollum hopefully. Every time I see 29 on my screen I cringe.

I love this, but it also reinforces how important earning the 1 seed is.

If the Lions lose tonight and the Eagles win Sunday, we'll both have an 11-2 record.

It's my understanding that the Lions have the tiebreaker, so technically we'd still be the #2 seed?

No, if the Lions lose to Packers they lose the tiebreaker.

But it was the call. And he did follow his man. That’s the second play I posted.

Are we sure MEG was the call?

No.  If the Lions lose to the Packers, the Eagles get the tiebreaker based on common opponents (assuming the Eagles sweep the Cowboys).
