Dan Campbell really is a classless piece of ish. That may have been Doug's final game as a HC, and he's got Goff throwing TDs in the 4th quarter when the Lions are up by 36. Just a truly despicable move to embarrass a guy who by all accounts is well liked in the league.

I was more shocked that he was leaving his starters in and risking injury, rather than the act of running up the score itself. Their last TD in the 3rd qtr could've ended in disaster if Goff found his TE a second or two later than he did. Usually with a lead like that you wanna just shorten the game and get out of there with no injuries, but maybe he's still got some PTSD from blowing that 20 pt lead against the niners in the NCFCG.

It changed once they decided to offer him a contract.  Still don't think you will ever see a 1st round pick on an RB, but they will pay for one.

I don't think we'd draft one with a 1st still but I think this changes them giving money to RBs

It was classless then too. Coaches have a long memory. I hope when Campbell's on his last legs, someone curb stomps him.

You're up 42-6 and pick off a pass with just over 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. It's a 5 score lead and you send your starting offense out there. In 9 plays you throw it 5 times, including for a TD. Beyond being classless, it's just dumb and reckless to risk injuries to your starters in a 5 score game.

Yes, exactly. The cycle continues, and there's no issue with it. Players have incentives built into their contract, maybe this was a way to hit a lot of escalators easily.

Thanks for guiding me to that article. I used to love watching Delaware when Dave Nelson and Tubby Raymond were there. That offense was such fun. The uniforms helped too. 😄The few teams that could stop or at least slow it down had an interesting approach in their preparation: the scout team ran without the tackles, because the key to stopping the run was to follow the guards. A lot of the motion is eye candy but the guards always led you to the ball. The Eagles run some variants but Stoutland and Moore added another wrinkle, running away from the guards. I posted a couple of plays recently where in the first one the right side pulls to the left, the defense follows, but Saquon went left to right against the OL flow. Two plays later they ran the same action but Hurts kept and, as you said, trucked the DB while scoring. Another variation is to line up a TE as a wing, pull the guard from that side and have the TE follow so they bring an extra blocker to the play side. That’s got to be Stoutland. He and Moore are really meshing well.

I can see them using VanSumeren as a runner in those formations in time.

Falcons game was an anomaly

Where were these complains when they did it against the cowboys?

Probably. Frankly i didn’t think it was warranted then when they went for it.

The holder has to exit the field immediately when the ball is kicked, but I don't think there's an enforceable foul called if he's still in the field of play when the ball is caught.  He's deemed a "non-participating player" and would only be flagged/ejected if he interferes in some way with the play.

If Nick put our starters back out in that situation, and risked injury, just to run up the score in a non-conference game? I'd call for him to be fired. It's classless and stupid.

Howie wouldn't let him put the starters out.

Ok.   The new kickoff rule has officially jumped the shark.   12 men on the field is a penalty.  No excuses.   Just put it back the way it was.

I'd be shocked if Mara didn't offer that job to Bill Belichick.  The Giants would be his preferred coaching destination; I'm just not sure he'd take that job with the current roster there.

It would be hard to trust Joe Schoen with drafting their next QB1 with how he handled the Jones and Barkley situations.

Point differential is a tie-breaker, admittedly fairly far down the list but it’s there.

Hard to trust Belichick too, given his last choice was Mac Jones... and the pick that made his name in NE was an afterthought.  You don't let the QB you really want last until pick 199.  So, he got very lucky with Brady.  It wasn't a masterstroke of genius.  It was a masterstroke of luck.

I'd have to think Schoen would follow Daboll out the door if Mara makes a change.

Tbh if i were belichick I’d rather have the giants job then the cowboys. At least the giants are going to have a top pick and not tied to a Qb making big money. They have some nice young pieces. I kind of think if daboll gets fired then so is schoen

Incredible.  On the road to victory.  #MackTruck.

Giants are so dumb, my goodness. Fire Daboll and Schoen, install some fiery interim coach who sucks but the guys play for, and enter 2025 with a clean slate. It's like they're trying to suck.

Gotta go somewhere with a QB, I'd think. 3-5 year window on his career. DAL or JAX.
