Not comparing them as apples to apples situations, but more the reactions being polar opposites to each other online.

Because people here love Jason Kelce and the kick face guy is a stupid pickle ball player.

No penalty. Clear cut.

Ok.   The new kickoff rule has officially jumped the shark.   12 men on the field is a penalty.  No excuses.   Just put it back the way it was.

The new kickoff rule has not accomplished much.  The part on on-site kick is just silly.   It takes away all the surprise element from the kick.  No way the receiving team will miss covering the kick.  Most kickers can reach the end-zone anyway, some may even make the field goal from kick0ff.  Better move the ball back 5-10 yards and put back the old rules.

So how many are selected for the Pro Bowl?

Hurts, Brown, Johnson, Barkley, Carter, and Baun (yes, Baun) are locks, IMO.  Mitchell should as well, but it's tricky with rookies.

Smith, Jurgens, and Dickerson are playing at that level.  Mailata and Goedert are as talented, but injuries will keep them out.

DeJean, Slay, Dean, Blankenship, and Becton are all playing well, but not Pro Bowl well.

That's 17 names.

I feel like this team has 8 good Pro Bowl selections:

Barkley for sure. Hurts, Brown, and Johnson on offense.
Defense I am less sure. Carter is one. Two out of Baun, Dean, Mitchell, and Slay.
Add one more offensive lineman: Dickerson or Jurgens.

That gets you to 8. The Eagles had 8 Pro Bowlers last year.

Odd how standards seem to swing pretty wildly around here. Kelce smashes a guy's phone who's being a jerk, the reaction is that he deserved it. Guy being a jerk gets kicked in the face, and suddenly it's "wow, I can't believe that happened."

Either both cases are assault or both cases are "mess around and find out."

Should auction off being able to be the guy that holds the ball for charity.

Which tiebreaker do they hold?

Conference record currently. They need to lose an NFC game.

Rams game is big for the Eagles to keep pace in common opponents record.

I don't think we'd draft one with a 1st still but I think this changes them giving money to RBs

Howie is all about value for resources.

I agree - dont think the calculus has changed on draft picks - relative value is still there more for premium positions. QB, WR, OL, DL, CB. Not unless they have someone they view as a generational talent like Barkley or Bijan dropping to say bottom of first round.

But what Barkley signing indicated was that they think its worth spending $12.5m / year on the best guy in the league at that position. Note: premium position guys (ex QBs) are getting paid 2x+ that, so RB position is still valued relatively much lower by them but at 50% of cost of other positions, having a premium talent at that spot is worth it

Will be interesting seeing as though Barkley has made some not so flattering remarks about ESPN in the past.

I'd have to think Schoen would follow Daboll out the door if Mara makes a change.

Schoen really has not done much to build a decent roster.  Even if you ignore the deal he made for Daniel Jones after one mediocre season, he had a disaterous trade for Darren Waller.  Evan Neal looks like a bust.  WanDale Robinson has been disappointing as a 2nd round pick.  Deonte Banks is having an up and down season.  This was probably his best year in free agency but not because of Brian Burns but because adding Runyan gave them a decent option as a long-term starter.

While you've been discussing #1 seed, I've been looking at #2 seed scenarios.  The struggles of the NFCS and NFCW make it very likely.

Basically, we can even lose to LA, BAL, and PIT and still secure the #2 seed if we win our other 4 games (@Was, Car, Dal, and NYG) AND Arizona, Seattle, and Atlanta lose at least one more game.  Arizona and Seattle still play each other twice.

Funny thing is in the wildcard round the 5th seed will probably have the easiest game.

He got burns cause Dan Morgan is his friend and also a bad GM. I did like his draft of Nabers and Tracy. Losing McKinney also hurt them this offseason. He’s been fantastic for the packers. The biggest mistake he made was giving jones the contract after the first year he was there. Everyone but giants fans and schoen knew jones wasn’t worth the money and they should’ve moved on.

Probably should've left Evans off this, even if he lined up against Slay more often than Q.

And he kinda cooked us

I’ve seen throws like this before but it was a pretty incredible throw considering he got nailed right as he threw

That's what I meant, even Godwin didn't exactly get shutdown if that's who Q drew more often.

It was also the state of the roster. The offense was loaded everywhere but RB. The delta of adding Barkley was greater than that of any free agent. Not that we are averse to squandering money; I give you Bryce Huff. Are we really paying him $14M more than Saquon?
