They could still win that division…

Even if they beat the Bears today, they’re still behind Seattle & Arizona, & have the Rams/Dolphins/Lions coming up. They probably want Arizona to win today, but even then Arizona is down 10 currently.

They’re injured, Aiyuk is out for the year, Deebo looks like a shell of himself. Not the threat they used to be

DE is more important imo. I think Eagles lose Sweat. Even if BG comes back he's a rotation guy at this point of his career

Agreed, I think they’d prioritize DE first.

I said this last week and people gave me crap like the ravens just adjusted to take AJ Brown out of the game. No the Eagles are not very good passing it nor getting the ball to their best receiving playmaker. AJ Brown should’ve had an 80 yard touchdown today if our passing game was in anywhere close to where it needed to be. But it is not. Their passing game is not good. I’m tired of this. Oh they’re just efficient. No, they’re not very good. Because a good offense figures a way to get AJ Brown the ball before it becomes nearly 4 quarters where he sees zero targets and has no receptions. That is on your coaching, play calling and on your Qb.

Did what on purpose?

The Giants. Letting someone through to block that kick. Mostly joking.

Hurts is an amalgam of Purdy, Kaepernick, Vick, Tebow, Tannehill, and John Allen.

Play style is very close to Broncos Tebow, but Hurts is a slicker passer.  The Eagles are designed to build around a great RB and then situationally force the ball to elite weapons and yac guys while asking the QB to shoulder as little burden as possible…just like Purdy.  But Purdy is a more sophisticated passer and is much better when passing in volume, but also far less dynamic from a mobility and strength perspective.

Kaepernick is similar, but he had A much better arm.  If Josh Allen were 6’ with a noodle arm and elite weapons, he’d probably be Jalen Hurts.

Tannehill was the last qb on a run dominant team who wasn’t asked to do much, didn’t do anything good, but kept it clean and managed to run up efficiency stats while on a very good, winning team.

So lots of comparisons.  We’ll see how the 2024 story ends.

Hurts had a bad game today but I wouldn't go that far

Oh lol I get it now maybe he did

I’ll add another one, it might be time to panic about Jake Elliot.

0/5 on 50+ yard kicks on the year is nerve wracking if we get into a tight game situation in postseason. A missed FG will be brutal against a team like Detroit. I didn’t have an issue with Sirianni’s decision to punt late in the 4th to give Panthers a long field, but I think that’s also a reflection in lack of confidence in Jake currently. It used to be in the past you let Jake kick & make that, we’re up 9 points & not sweating the end of the game as badly.

Right now I bet he'd miss that last TD in the Super Bowl. I'm not sure anyone is on the street that's better right now. I'd add one to the PS, though, but that would mess with Jake's head even more. It might also make him get it in gear.

Weird, some of us have been saying this for a while.

What does AJ Brown know? Or Lane, for advocating to take the ball out of Hurts' hands and run more.

Wonder why?

I figured he meant in terms of not throwing the ball a ton and running with reckless abandon

Then he’s going to need to have a very stern conversation with his friend at QB.

I was never really a big arm strength stickler for QBs…in 2000-2019, there were so many more important traits that separated the HOF guys.

But Mahomes and Josh Allen use their arm strength differently.  They don’t always throw with anticipation.  They scamper around while looking downfield, let receivers break free, and then have the vast arm strength simply pop the ball into their shoulder pads once they see someone open.

For one, Hurts doesn’t share their downfield vision while running around.  But he also doesn’t have the arm strength to play like that.

Example…the throw he made to Devonta today down the sideline on a great curl route.  You either need to throw that with anticipation before Devonta makes his break or have the arm strength to fire it in there once you pull the trigger late.  Hurts did neither and the beaten CB had time to step in and break up a floater.

You can’t lack anticipation AND arm strength.

AJ and Smith should be feasting. AJ should've seen about 6 targets when Horn left the game

The coaches need to focus on designing plays that get the ball out of Hurts' hands faster. He’s too indecisive to handle long-developing plays consistently. When we threw quick slants to AJ, they worked well—stick to that. Save the deep shots for after you’ve set up play-action with Barkley. For now, simplicity is key. Whether Hurts doesn’t trust himself or the coaches are holding him back, he’s taking way too long to make decisions, and it’s only a matter of time before it costs us.

I’m expecting a very line heavy draft from Eagles this offseason. Sweat, Milton, BG all have expiring contracts, & who knows how much longer Lane sticks around so it might be time to find his successor, Becton probably walks in FA & how confident are they about Steen being the RG?

Tyler Warren would be so fun. But with question marks short term/long term on both sides of the line, Eagles principle philosophy investing in trenches, and it being a deep TE draft, I highly doubt they grab Warren or any other TE in 1st.

There was multiple times today AJ had separation on the defender and qb1 didn't throw it. Looked his way and wasn't confident he could make the throw

Play style…so is Josh Allen and he might be the mvp.  A physical running qb who looks to run first on critical convert or punt plays.

I mean…there are only so many QBs in the last 20 years who fit that description.  Hurts and Tebow happen to be 2 of them.

Holy crap he was right there.....if that isn't evidence of a rigged league...

The problem is the playcalling, they've really simplified the offense, and they're basically asking WRs to win one on one battles consistently, with little effort to scheme them open.

Too much is run, run, play action with deep routes.

When they call slants, they're effective, but almost no RB screens, no TEs going down the seams, etc.

Guess I'm spoiled by AR.

Forget the statistics.  Watch the game.  That's not the type of game you want from your QB.  Indecisive, hesitant and frankly, scared.

On some plays, but not every play.

I’d love to see Tyler Warren in this offense. Not sure where he’s projected now but the timing feels right for a Goedert replacement/complement. Hurts needs all the help he can get and this passing offense is missing a safety valve.

Love Warren as a player, but how much freaking help does Hurts need?

He has the best OL in the entire league, the best RB in the entire league, the best WR duo in the league.

Like, let’s be real here — he has FAR AND AWAY the most talented offense in the entire NFL around him. Literally, this might be the best supporting cast top to bottom that any QB has had in half a decade.

A new TE will make very little difference.

What we need is a QB to eventually replace Hurts and a blue chip backup RB so we can run the ball 35+ times per game without getting Barkley killed.

That’s really it as far as the big plans for the offense go. A first rounder at TE isn’t going to catch enough passes to justify the resources spent on him. Draft angry in the 4th or 5th who can block and catch a 7 yard pass to convert a 3rd down. We don’t need another super star the QB won’t throw the ball to.

niners are probably going to blow out the bears so I will switch games now

Lol

The only thing is a TE can be a major difference maker. BPA has served them well. If they rank a TE a lot higher than who's left at OL/DL then I'd grab him. We'll see, but you are right I expect it to be heavy on both lines.
