That is true of SoCal, but not so much for NorCal.  

The reason is pretty simple.  Most California residents are ex-pats … immigrants from somewhere else.  I’m an immigrant from Philadelphia (by way of Dallas and Nashville) but once your blood bleeds green, it always bleeds green.

With that said, my AFL team was the Raiders, as the bad boys of the AFL.  Which matched my 60’s and 70’s world view.  That got a bit shaky when I moved to Dallas because the Hunt family were great supporters of the company my better half ran, so I had some Chiefs loyalty as my "distant second” team.  When we moved to NorCal, that detour was abandoned … but the Raiders in 1998 were not the Raiders of my memory.  So I’m pretty fungible regarding AFCteams.

That PI was so obvious even the refs couldn't pretend it didn't happen
