Yeah. That’s pretty funny.

I’m curious to see if he’ll be able to handle blocking assignments next year.

He’s strong, quick, and can run. The mistakes I’ve noticed have to do with recognition. He’s started what? Ten games at center? They’re running stunts on him that he’s late recognizing. He just needs time, coaching, and film study with Jason Kelce. He will be an outstanding center.

With this roster, here are the NFC QB's I'd 10000% ride with before Jalen Hurts...

Murray
Carr
Purdy
Goff

Here's the QB's I'd have to really think about maybe putting ahead of Hurts...

Mayfield
Love
Cousins

QB's I know are worse than Hurts...

Young
Jones

You win Turkey Hill dumbest post of the year.

Carr hahahahahahaha, just stop

Dude is still throwing hospital balls

What a dumb Fing post

well it depends on who replaced him.

Hurts is around 10-12 among NFL QBs and if he’s not giving the ball away frequently that’s likely good enough at this point.  He certainly needs to start games better, though.  His slow starts could cost the team in the playoffs in a one-and-done

Better than Kelce?   Lane was named first team All-Pro only twice, second team twice..    Kelce was first team All-Pro six times.    Not that Pro Bowl means as much... but Johnson was named 5 times, Kelce 7.

Can’t use league-wide awards. Lane was lumped in with higher profile left tackles.

Lane got to the top of his game earlier in his career than Kelce. Jason was a very good center before 2017. The SB run and ensuing speech put him on another level.  Lane has been the better player over the course of their respective careers.

We are only passing for about 200 yards a game. Hurts won’t be a top 5-ish QB because of his arm.  He is indecisive and clumsy in the pocket

But at the end of the day, between his arm AND legs, he makes the same impact a top 5 QB makes solely with his arm.

I hope he becomes more comfortable in this offense.

Jalen Hurts is a top 20 QB.

He can make every throw on the field but he never consistently does make those throws.  He is consistently inconsistent.  And his leadership qualities are right up there with Jim Irsay’s or Mark

IMO, you just described Jalen Hurts... but with arm talent. And that's why I'd take Carr and other mid NFC QB's over him. It's not because I think they're great, it's because I have a low opinion of Hurts as a QB.

QB play in general is down this year across the league.  I think only Lamar and Allen are playing truly elite at the position.  With Hurts i don’t think it’s being comfortable, it’s more consistency.  There’s a few times where as a true QB he’s taken over games.  He’s looked quicker running as of late though.

He looks the part right now.  It’ll be fun to watch his development.

No, you can’t ignore what Hurts adds in the run game. Also Carr sucks.

I'll disagree with that.

Kelce was a Pro Bowler in 2014 and 2016.  Meanwhile, Johnson was suspended for PEDs in 2014 and 2016.

Johnson's first Pro Bowl was 2017.  In other words, there was a dark cloud over Johnson prior to the 2017 SB run.

Both Kelce and Johnson got their first All-Pro nod in 2017.

We are splitting hairs here, but I think that its a no brainer at this point that Kelce is a first ballot HOF C.  I'm not sure that Lane gets that because of his suspensions.  Johnson is really close, but Kelce gets the nod for me.  No suspensions, fewer missed games due to injury, and the tone setter in the locker room.

Well, he can, but he shouldn’t. How a top QB is judged is a varying thing, based on recency bias. Lamar has been ripped in here many times but is currently on a pedestal. Memories seem to have faded. I do not think it is unreasonable to say that Lamar is a better runner but Jalen is a better passer.

Neither of them will ever be Dan Marino or Mike Vick (the two best arms I can think of) but I expect they’ll meet in this year’s Super Bowl.

I agree he's far from elite, at least right now. But I don't see anyone playing better than him. Granted, I haven't done a deep dive on this, but no one else really stands out. The Washington center may have had a case, but we made him look pretty bad.

Unless I’m wrong, he was Dallas’s center last year. A Wisconsin kid. Peaked in college. He plays hard but he’s limited.

Mahomes might have a down year but to not have his name under elite is just wrong.

Kelce didn't really seem to explode until after Howie finally decided to invest in guards IIRC

I wouldn’t say that. He spent his early years next to Evan Mathis who was a 2x pro bowler and all pro here, along with Todd Heremans. 2015 was the one year it was bad with Barbre and Tobin. He had Brooks after that with a mix of solid G’s.

More than anything I’d say it was Stoutland and then ditching Chip Kelly’s gimmicky college offense.

Yup, mentioned him since he made a pro bowl a few years ago. Not sure any other centers in the nfc are much better than him, and Jurgens outplayed him by a pretty wide margin.

I’m surprised they didn’t want Arcega-Whiteside

It is interesting reading this post of yours in the context of your assessment of Jordan Davis.

This year he’s mortal…has the refs in his pocket.  He’s not playing at the level of those 2, but considering the injuries it’s almost a coin flip if you want to include him i guess.
