Eagles are probably 8-5 without Barkley

I was wondering how we clinched so early and it was the Atlanta and Cards losing that locked it in for us.  Only the Lions and Eagles have clinched in the NFC.  It's a dog fight now in the Wild Card because the Rams are surging.  49ers are still alive as well with that win today.  Vikings are in the Lions rearview.   We are also there too waving at them, lol.   It's going to be a wild final 4 games.

They could run the table tbh. They got at sf, at jets, vs. Arizona and vs. seattle. I’m betting they don’t but i could easily see them going 3-1 which would put them at 10-7. Not sure they gets them in as a WC but might win the division as Seattle has vs. packers, vs. Minnesota, at bears and vs. rams.

Yup.

And that formula consistently comes up short in the playoffs.  Playoff condescendingly call it 80’s and 90’s football.

If we are to win a sb with that formula, something about us needs to be different.  Right now, the only difference I see is the margin between Barkley and your *typical* all pro rb.  That difference is all that sets us apart from the numerous running teams that repeatedly fail.

You’re totally underselling the OL. We are the biggest, most athletic, and best coached unit in the NFL.

It should tell you something that both Sanders and Swift looked great here and are JAGs after they leave. It should tell you something that as talented as Barkley is, he’s never come anywhere CLOSE to this season before. He’s averaging almost 2 full yards per carry more behind this OL than he did with the Giants.

That’s the biggest margin between our team and everyone else, not Barkley. It’s why he has the most yards before contact as well.

What needs to change is Hurts. It’s that simple. Either he plays better or we replace him with someone who does.

Jalen Hurts becomes only the 3rd QB in franchise history to take the Eagles to the playoffs in at least 4 consecutive seasons.

I think the eagles are better team without Barkley then the bills without Allen. Without Josh Allen I’m not sure the bills get to 4 wins. That roster is not great. Their defense has a lot of issues like Gannon’s did where they excel against bad teams and just not very good against better QBs. James cook is their best offensive weapon (outside of Allen). Amari cooper has been ok since that trade. Kincaid has been injured and frankly not great.

Bills 10-3 with Allen. Where you think they are without him? I’m guessing it might be 2-11

Today is a reminder that it’s the NFL. You aren’t always going to win pretty or going away. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some serious concerns.

* Hurts was bad. I think Moore has been pretty underwhelming. It can be difficult to determine how much fault is on either side, but it didn’t look like there were a bunch of open receivers today. Couple that with Raquon Smith calling out our plays last week… yikes. That said, I still can’t believe Hurts took that sack instead of throwing it away. That’s JV football nonsense. If we’re going to go toe to toe with Detroit, Hurts needs to play so much better.

* We have a kicker problem. There’s no other way around it.

* DeJean had his worst game of the season. He wasn’t sticky in coverage and he didn’t tackle well either. Bad combo.

* Bryce Young looked like a young Tarkenton. What a dreadful job by the front seven of bringing him down.

4-9/ 3-10 maybe. I'd have to go back and look at their schedule

probably beating jags and titans. I’m guessing they lose to az, jets, dolphins, seattle, Indy and KC. That first Miami game is likely a win cause they knocked out Tua.

Qb1 might be the 7th best player on offense.

No particular order:

Barkley

AJ

Smith

Lane

Mailata

Dickerson

If we disregard positional value, Hurts is at best the 9th best player on offense after all 5 OL, both WRs, and Barkley.

AJ created separation a number of times on the defender. Qb1 looked his way and never threw it to him because he's regressed in the passing game. Receivers were open

They’ve humiliated some teams, it may not be as bad without him.

without Barkley we’d still have had Swift or Mixon or Aaron Jones. Put a QB of that caliber in Buffalo and they’re still in the playoff mix and still likely win the East

3-4 wins sounds about right

Impressive how the Rams just beat maybe the best team in the NFL.

I have no idea what to make of our team. I was feeling so great up until today. Now both the offense AND the defense looked bad, and the sounds from the locker room sound like they are damn near a collapse like happened last year. Hurts point fingers, WRs pointing fingers back, Mailata sounded upset as well in his locker room interview.

If they play like this again they can lose all of their remaining games.

Its really hard to make guesses on this stuff because the presence of Barkley means they are hardly throwing the ball at all, what I know is that if they are winning at this clip with an MVP RB and #1 defense then stick to that because it's working

When I was a kid, that was a yearly discussion.  We've been spoiled over the years by Akers and then Elliott.  Can't figure out what happened to him, but league wide, it seems like kickers are just less steady than they have been in recent years.

Dude is straight stank ass

4.5 point favorites against Pittsburgh next week. What story does that tell?

They’ve humiliated some teams cause Josh Allen has been fantastic outside of like 2 games. Unless you are replacing Allen with someone like burrow or mahomes i am thinking they are likely a 2-4 win team.

my fantasy team played against Josh Allen. He scored 62. I was winning comfortably with Tee Higgins still to play. Now I need about 34 points from Higgins. Not happening.

We were 12-13.5 point favorites over the Panthers.   Maybe the books over value the Eagles, or maybe they have to because the betting public does.

Hurts has gotten to the point that he won’t throw it to a guy unless he’s got a few yards of separation.  In the NFL that is rare and just won’t cut it.

They have 5 wins of 3+ possessions. Take SF for instance; they held Purdy to 94 yards passing and the Niners to 10 points. If they had Baker Mayfield as QB, it would cause Purdy to figure out Buffalo’s defense?
