Hurts has gotten to the point that he won’t throw it to a guy unless he’s got a few yards of separation.  In the NFL that is rare and just won’t cut it.

Shades of McNabb.

I think the Rams had a confident/arrogant coach with a system.  He believed that he’d win it all with a more talented qb to run his system.  He was pounding the table for that.

Howie is aggressive and will make a bold move, but he’s not running the offense.  We don’t have a system.  We’ve gone so far down the run heavy RPO path at this point.

I think we either win a SB in the next 2 years as is with Hurts kicking the ball around and running for big plays or better luck in the next rebuild.

Imo Howie is aggressive when he knows something is holding the team back and tries to overcorrect it. He’s not dumb. The window for this team is right now. If they get to the playoffs, and Jalen hurts is the thing that’s holding them back then i don’t think it’s out of the question they go exploring. We signed wentz to a mega deal and a year later drafted hurts in the 2nd due to durability concerns with wentz. I think they will look into alternatives if they lose and it’s definitively due to Qb position

I think the eagles are better team without Barkley then the bills without Allen. Without Josh Allen I’m not sure the bills get to 4 wins. That roster is not great. Their defense has a lot of issues like Gannon’s did where they excel against bad teams and just not very good against better QBs. James cook is their best offensive weapon (outside of Allen). Amari cooper has been ok since that trade. Kincaid has been injured and frankly not great.

I don’t think Trubisky is going to elevate anybody’s play. I think our OL can make Kenny G look OK.

DeJean finally had his welcome to the NFL, rookie game today. Thielen ran laps around him. It happens.

It happens when you go against the OG exciting white for the first time. I hope they swapped jerseys at the end.

So...now it's ok to combine rush stats with passing stats? 🤔 🤣

This is not a defense of Hurts, and Allen is playing great. Just about the combining stats issue.

Allen had 342 pass yards and 3 pass TDs. 82 rush yards, 3 rush TDs. Total yards 424, 6 TDs.

Allen is great, Hurts sucks, yadda yadda I get it. But it's hypocritical to combine stats for others if you don't like it when people do it for Hurts.

I don't care about stats; allen passes the eye ball test. Hurts doesn't and nor does he look like a 5 year veteran..I'm gonna slide behind LOS bc I don't want to risk illegal man downfield penalty

That's simply not true though. Today alone he threw into tight coverage. He's done it all year. He's not been good enough as a passer, had a bad game today but these extremes of "he won't" or "never" usually aren't factual. He's thrown into tight coverage, made accurate throws, went past the first read, thrown to the middle of the field, led game winning drives including with passing, stayed in the pocket.

He's not doing it enough, he's not consistent enough and absolutely needs to play better though.

All I know is this, anybody who thinks Jalen hurts is better than Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow is lying. Those three are the three best quarterbacks in the league. Frankly Herbert is likely up there cause he’s doing some of these with a really weak supporting cast.

this isn’t Jalen hurt sucks. This is just more realistic of Jalen hurts is probably somewhere between 7 and 12 in the league. I don’t think he’s as bad as he look today. I also don’t think he’s as good as he looked in 2022. The problem is your window to win a Super Bowl is right now. And they need him to get his crap together passing the ball along with moore getting his crap together.

You're just being a hater!! Stop being a hater Hater McHaterson!!!!

Ok but...none of that has anything to do with the double standard of combining stats. There are like 2, maybe 3, posters here who think Hurts is close to a top QB.

Tbh I could give a flying F less about stats. The reality is this when I watch other teams play football, I see quarterbacks having to put a burden on their shoulder for their teams to be successful. I am not so sure if Barkley can’t get the job done that hurts with how he’s playing right now could step up and win the game. Today against the Rams, it wasn’t Josh Allen why they lost. The reason why the Bengals are losing nearly every week is less because of Joe Burrow.

this isn’t Jalen hurts sucks. He needs to play better. there’s going to be a time in the playoffs where he has too or we are going home. Also, this is not all on him because I don’t think Moore has done a fantastic job getting guys going in the pass game or running better routes for what they do best. Like I’ve been saying for pretty much the last couple weeks, they just forget about AJ Brown and getting him involved in games.

If Eagles and Lions both win, Eagles stay 2 games behind with 3 games to go. Makes it less likely but not "lose all meaning”. With how the schedule shakes out with Eagles playing Week 17 Dec 29th and Lions on the 30th, Eagles are likely going to have to play starters and win games until maybe the last game of the season, which isn’t a gimme either.

If the Eagles and Lions both win…

They should play starters against commanders and cowboys.  But there should be no Hurts physical runs into contact, no heavy Barkley usage.  Lighter snaps for Carter.

And no one plays against the Giants.

AJ created separation a number of times on the defender. Qb1 looked his way and never threw it to him because he's regressed in the passing game. Receivers were open

Hurts waits until guys are open to throw it and not throw up guys.

Slay is on his last legs but he’s still battling hard. Was happy for him that he got the game-ending stop. You can tell he’s fighting. Teams are picking on him with how lock down Q has been on the other side.

Great. But you cared enough about stats to post them. 😉 But it was just an example of a combined stats debate people had in the last week.

Jenn Slay's husband came up big at the end there.

I miss the days of having a viable screen game.

The play in this game that just absolutely bothered me, they had AJ Brown on a slant. His defender was a good 2 1/2 yards behind him. Hurts looks at him, then doesn’t make the throw to him. It’s an easy pitch and catch. He gets at least 5 to 6 yards and if he breaks tackles, he’s probably getting a good 10-20 yards out of it. That is a route that AJ Brown excels at. And if you get the ball to him good things will happen. Instead, hurts looked at him, didn’t feel confident enough to throw it to him.

Ok...again my post was about combining stats. I get it, fans are emotional after the game and want to bash Hurts. I feel like a post about the defense, coaching, refs, food or movies rn would get replies hating on Hurts. 🤣

I thinks it’s difficult to sell given the caliber of our OL.

I’d settle for a nice checkdown game.

Probably. But their defense has played well for 8 consecutive weeks until this week. So I can at least give them a benefit of the doubt that they just didn’t get up for this game. And that they’ve shown me they can be top notch when we need them to be.

hurts and moore’s pass offense has regressed over the past couple weeks. I said this during the game, I don’t think this is all on hurts and I don’t think it’s all on Kellen Moore. I think it’s a combination of the two. But if the Eagles want to win a Super Bowl, both of them have to be better. I understand there’s been weeks guys have been out. But when you have AJ Brown and Smith on that field and our passing attack looks like we’re pushing a boulder uphill. that’s a problem. It should not be this hard to get your passing game going with two talents like that. We are underutilizing both and it falls on hurts and Moore

Today's W was an excellent win.  Yes, they played very poorly BUT they won a game that was setup for them as a letdown event.  Those are games that don't have to be pretty but need to end in a W.

There's been some nice plays but honestly overall Moore hasn't really been impressive

Hurts has regressed. He is now a below average NFL QB.

I don’t mind using the combined stats numbers but there should be an asterisk showing how many of Hurts’s rushing TDs come from the push. I’m not saying they don’t count, but it doesn’t add anything as far as judging him on his QB ability. That’s why it’s important to watch the games. Anyone who watches Allen play knows Hurts is not in his class.
