Thats how you know its bad and they all know it. Hurts is even getting pissy about it now

and poor Siri has no options other than to go up in the post game presser and defend his $250M QB because there is literally no way out of that contract. 2 weeks in a row he is up there saying Hurts is playing at an MVP level.

I wish they would just play McKee but you know they wont.

In all honesty, this was supposed to be Hurts' sink or swim year. All the talent around him, and a new, well respected OC who was going to bring in motions and more complicated concepts. And Jalen was supposed to be able to do it, or not and then we would know who is at fault for holding back this putrid passing game.

Instead, theyve dumbed it down again. Hes getting worse and worse. Players are getting frustrated.

This team just wont allow Jalen to outwardly fail. A growing number of fans can see it. But there are still those who will blindly, relentlessly defend him.

Its baffling that they dont start under center and use PA

You mean the time they did run play action to freeze the LBs and Brown was open on a deep out and Jalen didn't throw the ball?

Sirianni isn't getting in the way.  Jalen is.

The big thing is… how do they fix it? Because they need to otherwise things are going to continue to escalate and I do think that threatens to derail this season. Last year we saw these fractions and we know what happened there!

Any real football fan sees it

Thanks for posting. I was told we rarely had open receivers just earlier this morning.

It happens regularly, he just rarely takes advantage

It's been common all season, even when playing well. One of his known faults. He's done better in some series, but they have a lot to figure out.

For those of you at the game, how much grumbling about Hurts did you hear in the stadium? I know there was plenty of it in week 2 at the Falcons game. I imagine by now its getting even louder.

I didn't see the full Mailata interview, but here he says Barkley getting the record is the only bright spot he can think of in the game.

I get the frustration in the pass game, expecting more with the talent they have. But they did have 2 pass TDs, Calcaterra's first career TD, and they ya know, won the game.

This is a throw he can make.  He just doesn't want to take a chance and that's terrible.

I'm not seeing those route combinations at the start of games. Not seeing the Texas routes to Saquon. Start the game off with high percentage passes to your stars to get in rhythm. Preferably off of play action since the world is scared of Saquon.

The early game offense has been bad all season, there was some theories that we were scoping out the opposition defense with different things to see what they're running but on Sunday it just looked bad. I don't know how you explain the planned part of the days game being that bad if they aren't doing it deliberately.

Other oddities include us throwing 2 redzone TD's during the worst passing game of the year, when normally our redzone is running to the point of ridiculousness.

I appreciate seeing these as it's hard to pay attention to everything during a game.

Weird, we never scheme players open. Huh. Must be imagining things

It was clear watching the game that he was missing throws, it's like they got on him about turning the ball over too much during the bye week and he's over corrected and now won't throw anything, on Sunday he wouldn't even throw deep to Brown and that's the one throw he's always been willing to launch even when it was a dumb decision.

One thing that might help snap him out of it is the team getting into a hole and having to chase a game, as they're playing at the moment they can rely on the run with the odd throw to keep the defense honest. His numbers when he has to pass to take the lead are actually pretty good, as I said in another post, by and large the throws he's had to make he can make.

Only bc Legette dropped the game winner

Potential game winner.  The Eagles would have had about 40 seconds and 3 timeouts to try to get into FG range and give Jake a chance to get himself right.

Worst case scenario is if they play McKee or even Pickett in the final game against the Giants and he lights it up.   QB controversy will be in full effect.   (That is assuming Hurts doesn't play better between now and then.)

They'll play Pickett and he will stink. Especially with other backups.

McKee would probably look pretty good even with backups.

They should keep Hurts in even if we lock our playoff position early; open the playbook wide open, and force him to throw the ball around. Unfortunately the likely scenario would be the same when Brett Brown told Ben Simmons to shoot more threes...

Meanwhile what was Hurts doing?

Looking into space, alone on the bench.

At some point though this offense needs to try something different to throw a defense of that enables a faster start.

I doubt there would be a QB controversy with Pickett.  McKee, on the other hand, seems to play well in this system.

Meanwhile...
