Much better venue than the coliseum. Coliseum is cool to go to a game to one but leaving that stadium at night is a lot to handle

Getting out of the M/N lots at the Linc sucks donkey D too.

To me, it's not so much about the targets as making them count. With the way we are running the ball, vertical shots should be there and AJ and Smitty are talented enough to beat anyone 1 on 1. We were doing this well earlier (NYG, CIN, JAX games), and Jalen's YPA reflected it. The last couple of games, he's been hesitant to throw it down the field. I hoped it was a function of Smitty being out, but he was even more hesitant this week. Power running and vertical shots can score a ton of points. But running the ball combined with captain checkdown, or sacks, won't get it done.

I think besides hurts, they also have just called some plays i didn’t like given the situation. 3rd and 4 inside the panthers 40, don’t need to send aj deep where the panthers had a safety over the top and corner on him. run a quick slant. Either Aj catches it and gets the 4+, defender makes a great play or potentially getting a PI as the defender probably tries to go through him. Frankly i thought second quarter vs. ravens the eagles began utilizing Aj brown in what he does best. Then they kind of just went away from it

One interesting note that isn't getting nearly the same attention as AJ's quotes -- Jalen had a quote yesterday that along the lines of I'm doing what I am being asked to do. He also talked about the opening pass play, and that AJ was an alert, and he was reading #25 who dropped off (not for nothing, but if that were the case, he should have hit Dotson earlier). But the frustration seems to be at the play calling more than the execution. Now, this is natural from players -- they aren't going to blame themselves. But you have to wonder if the coaches are banking on the defense holding guys under 20, so let's be hyper conservative and just not give up short fields.

Has it been working? Yes, and they have shut down top offenses (BAL, WSH, CIN, LAR). But I don't think you can win a championship this way.

Thinking about it more, it feels like they are all frustrated with the play calling and want to open it up.

What if they call plays that are INTENDED targets for AJ and Devonta, but the QB doesn't pull the trigger. The dump off to Dotson is a prime example.

Any kickers visiting Novacare today?

So the play I just mentioned, Dotson was the primary read?

That 2nd quarter against the Ravens was so frustrating, because it showed we could simply go to AJ on slants and digs and he can't be stopped. Then in the 2nd half, we went away from it.

That's what Jalen said in his PC. Or more precisely, he was reading #25, and he fell back meaning the ball should go to Dotson. Jalen was very late with the throw if that were the case.

They just extended Elliott this offseason. We are likely stuck with him for next year too.

It’s worth .000025 right now. I wanted to put that in writing for when I come back in a couple months and it’s .00025. And then I’ll come back in summer and tell you when it’s .0025.

Here's the quote. Kind of muddled:

Quote

Hurts was asked after if he saw AJ and here is what he said: "No, no, I could have definitely alerted him. He popped on the vision. [Panthers CB] Jaycee Horn kind of fell back. Ideally you like to alert him. And the corner falls off, and you high low a flat player there. And [Panthers S Xavier Woods] was the flat player there, he got some depth. Just took my flats."

Everything he says is kind of muddled.

Here's the play. The OL slants to the left and Dickerson pulls to close the back door, except he overshoots. You can see him looking back.

End zone shots: Again, you can see Dickerson trying to put on the brakes, but it's too late. Yes, he was expecting to block the OLB - #52 but Calcaterra - #51 has him squared up. Nice to see Calcaterra's blocking improved, which it has...a lot.

It would be ~$15mm in dead cap to cut him, even if we spread it over 2 years. We ain't taking $15mm to cut a kicker.

It'd be weird because Hurts has shown to give no Fs and will toss it out to Brown on a "F it... Brown is down there somewhere" earlier in the season

It's not like he can't. They've gone off plan just to throw deep

That's the really perplexing part. Earlier in the year Jalen was audibling to shot plays. The 4th down against the Giants as an example. Now we won't look downfield at all?

Maybe the coaches have restricted his freedom at the line? Or he's lost his confidence?

Jalen's never been unwilling to throw it deep before.

Part of me thinks he has been told to eat the ball rather than make a questionable throw.  I do think Sirianni has a conservative streak that is frustrating.

He has the capability.  He hasn't demonstrated it this year.

If anyone was dumb enough to invest in a coin where the founder was most known for her bj skills, it was kind of their fault.

I invested because of her personality.

Nick loves the stats on how we are basically undefeated when we win the TO battle. But I just don't get what would have changed so drastically over the last 2 weeks. Hurts YPA was 7.9 or higher every game after the bye until the last 2.

That doesn't mean they couldn't bring in the guy from the Chiefs when they let him go and just eat Elliott's salary if it means winning a SB, which it could.
