EMB Blog: 2024 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

While this looks bad & could give insight to past/current locker room beef between two of Eagles star players, I wouldn’t say this automatically kills Super Bowl chances. I’ll be more concerned if this still seems to be an issue around the Washington game.

That said, there’s going to be a day when the Eagles aren’t good as they are currently. The roster won’t be as strong, coaches like Stout will be retired, Howie could be gone etc. Who knows when that day gets here, but it’s going to be supremely disappointing to look back at this time with a roster this talented if they don’t win a Super Bowl & this is a potential root cause of it.

Coming into the season pretty much everyone said this was a no excuse year for Hurts. He had WR, RB, good OL, and he isn't doing his job and both Smith and Brown aren't happy. Now people are saying he doesn't have to throw the ball because he has a running game. A guy who stocked groceries a few years before had the best RB in the league in Faulk yet somehow threw for a crap ton of yards. It doesn't have to be one or the damn other. It's BS that A-hole can't find open receivers behind one of the best OL in football.

The OC has to be pissed off as well designing plays he can't execute.

Excuses are done. None remain. Teams are so focused on slowing down Barkley that AJ and Smith should be feasting

TO being the voice of reason is hilarious.

This isn't going to be. Hurts sucking as a QB will. We are watching guys without his talent excel in TB and Minn. There is no damn excuse. 350+ yards and 5 TD vs ATL yesterday.

more BG quote from the show tonight:

Being frustrated is one thing, and mostly justifiable.

But it’s clearly gone much further than that, which is why BG clearly felt that it was time to call it out.

A 15 year savvy vet doesn’t just get loose lipped or caught out of context. He clearly sees more than garden variety frustration.

Minnesota has a top WR duo, a quality TE, and good RB.

McNabb choked and played like dogshit all Super Bowl.  Jalen Hurts played one of the best games ever that any QB has in Super Bowl history.

That loser fumbled the ball off his own knee and the defense scooped it up and scored. McNabb was throwing to guys like FredEx, LJ Smith, Greg Lewis, and TO with a jacked up ankle and lost to a dynasty by 3 points. Your lover has 2 great wrs and still can't get the ball in their hands

Well Hurts hasn't thrown a pick in a while so he's absolved from all blame.

Duh.

All I know is this Brandon Graham should’ve stopped after he said #1 is trying and 11 needs to be better in how he responds to things/accountable in how he goes to the media to complain . once he says I don’t know the whole story, then he shouldn’t speaking on it. Which goes back to what I’ve said he doesn’t have all the info or how it pertains to every else surrounding it.

And the Eagles have Smith, Brown, and SB.

McNabb was throwing to guys like Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi.

Clearly I said clearly way too many times in this post.

Dude just dropped the ball without even being touched and watched

Cart before the horse right now, the passing game is broke.  In general, yes the explosive threat should be there and the names on the back of a few players jerseys are just that.  Right now there’s little to no respect for the passing aspect.

I don’t see it that way. Rather, I see opportunities in the passing game that are just being missed.

McNabb could/wasn't afraid to throw the ball in the middle of the field. Your lover is to afraid

Oh I'm well aware of how much McNabb loved to throw the ball over the middle of the field straight into the dirt under the WRs feet.

I mostly agreed, but there were a lot of reasons to point to as to how we could win it too.

This story will kill any real chances.

Agreed to a certain extent. If the passing game came alive, I could see it

Prime McNabb would kill it on this team. Hurts has never reached the level of prime McNabb or even prime Wentz.

At least he threw it and didn't walk right into a sack. You'll do anything to defend your boy. I'm sure you're on your way to his apartment right now to rub him down and comfort him after another bad passing performance

Dragging far and away the best QB this franchise has ever had is certainly a take.

I'm more than ready to move on from AJ after this season.  Brandon Graham casually dropping bombs of info that AJ has personal issues with Hurts and it is being unprofessional with it.

Lurie finally has the weapons he's always wanted. AJ isn't going anywhere
