Most QBs don't need that as a crutch

How many other NFL QB’s are 36-9 over the past 3 seasons (since Hurts has  been running that play consistently)?

I’ll give you a guess - I think there’s one other that’s close to that record  and he plays for the KC Chiefs.

So wins aren't a team stat?

🤦‍♂️. Teams win games, not QBs.

Name another NFL QB that runs that play at a 90% success rate.

I’ll wait.

The discussion shouldn't be about his ability to help us win games.  He clearly adds value with his legs.  But scrambles and tush-pushes are not part of the structure of the offense.  They are opportunities to be taken advantage of.

We are questioning his ability to orchestrate an effective passing attack.  You know...the thing the coaching staff and players spend an entire week developing and practicing.

If we are in a game where we never get to the one-yard line and the opponent mush-rushes Hurts, are we sure he can lead us to victory?

FYI, any of you gents out there cat calling last week? Wonder how this would look if the tables were turned🤣 This is from the Philadelphia Eagles Fan Group on FB.

Missed connection and complete long shot—
Leaving the Eagles game I was walking through parking lot S next to Citizens Bank Park and a very cute guys was getting into the back drivers side seat of a pickup truck. As I passed he yelled "you’re so beautiful, I just wanted you to know that” so something along the lines of that. Of course I was shy and a little stunned so just yelled thank you! I was so flattered.
Anyways, I should have stopped and exchanged numbers but missed my opportunity! By the time I had the guts to turn around, they were driving away. If anyone happens to know a group of 4 or 5 guys that went to the game and drove a darker grey or gold/grey pickup truck with 4 door type body, parked in citizen lot, please pass this along! Tall and white with facial hair. Got into the 2nd row on driver side. Figured worth a shot these days since apps sucks and this never happens! I know this doesn’t narrow it down much. 🤦‍♀️. Here’s what I was wearing

And this team was led by Jalen Hurts over the past 3 seasons to a 36-9 record.

Was it led by him or Lane Johnson?  Or AJ Brown?

He’s done it 38 times counting the playoffs over the past 3 seasons - and yes - with his arm as well

And who has orchestrated the overwhelming majority of wins this season alone?

Saquon Barkley

Which is why using wins as your argument in favor of Hurts isnt the argument to be making.

If they win the SB with Hurts as a game manager, that proves the point that MAYBE you don't need a $240 million QB. The NFL is closer to a $400 million QB than we think. Sooner than later, a team is going to figure out that drafting a QB, letting him be a game manager for 4-5 years and then moving on before his massive payday comes is better for the team. Teams can't continue to put so much money in to one position. This is one area where the transfer portal might help QBs. QBs are getting paid in college and we might start seeing more pro-ready QBs coming to the NFL a bit older instead of a year early.

Hurts contract is now closer to middle of the road than it is top QB, but he's still getting serious coin. I'd assume his next contract will be even larger. He's still only 28 when his current deal becomes non-guaranteed. Either he gets extended or traded and then a new contract.

What's going to happen in 3-4 years when the Eagles need to pay Jalen Carter top dollar. Quinyon Mitchell top dollar. Cooper DeJean starting CB dollar. If they have a $300 million QB, it's going to be much harder to keep what looks to be a very promising, dominant defense together.

Their window is right now, they should have won in 2022 and here they are able to win again. Hurts should be rocketed to the moon at the earliest opportunity (after 2026) so realistically we have this year and next year to win and then we reset with a new young QB. Ideally, we still have a great team for them to step into. His contract sucks, we're stuck with him for at least 2 more seasons, if turning him into a game manager is what wins then fine.

The annoying part of the entire thing is people acting like he's some amazing QB when he's basically the equivalent of Brock Purdy in 2022 except instead of being able to throw, Hurts can run.

Hurts has led this team - as well as others - but Hurts has (without question) been a leader of this team

You keep throwing out his past win total as the answer to everything.

Should we not be concerned about Elliott because of what he did in 2017?

Barkley has been the MVP of this offense so far this season - with little doubt.

It doesn’t take away from what Hurts has done in helping this team get to a 11-2 record.

So many haters on this board - pretty sad to see - especially with an 11-2 record.  Almost comical, tbh.

Funny thing is that there were people in here last season saying Purdy was being carried and he was a game manager.

His season last year absolutely dwarfs what Hurts is doing this year

WTH are you talking about?

He’s 11-2 THIS SEASON

A leader, not the leader.  Was he one of the leaders that went to the coaches and said they needed to run the ball more?

The bar for Hurts is so low right now.  He's really good at QB sneaks and doesn't turn the ball over... so he's a top QB?   Really?  That's the bar now?

He needs to play better - period.  His passing over the past two games hasn't been good at all.  And that's why there is all the hubbub.    If he were playing well right now, there wouldn't be all this discussion about the passing game on this team.

I was waiting for the "hater" card to pop up.

I'm not saying Hurts hasn't helped us win games. What I am saying is that you using the teams record when the team around him has played an even bigger role (Barkley, number 1 defense since the bye) to prop up Hurts and say "He's 11-2" is not the argument to try and make.

It’s a testament to how well they have been playing….

and of course, Dallas sucks

Anyway, I’m done for the evening.

And there’s a reason the blog loses 80% of its posters during the week and after games - you guys would make a sane person insane.  Beyond stereotypical negadelphians - almost embarrassing. Smh

Hurts is here for this season and next so if you guys can’t stand him that much, best to step away.

I’ll keep enjoying the wins - hopefully all the way to the Super Bowl and a ring.

He’s at least a top 15 NFL QB and likely top 10 on most people’s charts.

Ok so you would prefer a QB who passes for 40 TD’s and 5000 yards but wins 3-4 games a season?

False dilemma.
