We take sports way too serious. This is crazy. More media attention than 99% of things that actually impact our lives.

Good god

We don't play Houston.  The AFCS was our 17th game this season.

Instead, we get to play at Buffalo!

11 of our 17 games would be against current playoff teams.  4 at home (WAS, DET, SEA, DEN), 7 on the road (WAS, GB, MIN, TB, KC, LAC, BUF).

Chase Daniel really is insufferable, and he thought he had a point there.

Someone was saying yes like they agreed with him.

I like an idea of 4th and 20 from your like own 30 and if you pick up a first, you keep going, if you don't get it...the opposing team takes over where you were stopped.

Dan Campbell is going to do this everytime.

Said this before but the media in this town handles the local teams like a bunch of high school girls. They care more about gossip and drama than they do the teams' performance, but I guess that's what gets clicks and sells.

This team is 11-2, won nine straight games, all but have the division locked up, and they are in a battle for the one seed. They should be properly covered, granted AJ and Graham made rookie mistakes going public with their comments instead of keeping everything in house.

The fans of this team deserve for them to make a deep run and win it all. The media deserves for them to be terrible, irrelevant, have no one care about them at all so no one tunes into their radio shows or publications and they run out of business.

Dude, it's football. Unless a comet is coming everything else can wait.

OK, bring on the loss. Only the Eagles have the ability to break records like this.

Wilson always pulls out a BS win

Bull. Take out the late TDs in garbage time.  What a worthless BS what if.

I think having Barkley perform the way he has this season helps with that, tbh.

They haven’t used it as much in 1.5 yards to go types of situations as often this season but in the past they used to quite frequently- even in the Super Bowl.

But even on gamedays half the people in here get angry when they hand it off to Barkley on 3rd and 1-2 instead of "tush pushing it twice”.  I’ve heard that repeatedly.  The reason they ask for it is because that’s what they’ve done in the past and with enormous success.

Your powers of estimation need some work.  Pretty sure I've not read that in here regularly.  I do remember it when they passed it on 3rd and 2 in the Atlanta game at the end of the game... but that's a very isolated situation where the first down meant the game was over, and getting more yards was meaningless.   I've not noticed anyone say anything negative about giving Barkley a handoff on 3rd down.

I would say it's more accurate to call that a scramble. Taking the Run option on an RPO would be handing it off after reading the defender. He instead tried to keep it, look for an open receiver, couldn't find/see one and then took a dumb sack instead of throwing it away and taking a 5yd penalty (better choice.)

If he slid in fear of the penalty, he had decided to run.  Hand off is not the only run option in RPO.  One of the run options is a keeper.

I think the one play thing is too gimmicky but they need to do something with onsides kicks if they aren't changing the kickoffs back to normal. Even then they would need to tweak something to promote more success.

That makes sense.  Break two things because you broke one and won't undo it.  😕

Here’s the thing: every QB leaves plays on the field. Some more than others, and with varying consistency.

Obviously.

It actually says "Always OPEN".

Shocking development: everyone "misconstrued” AJs comments….again.

Whatever, go beat Pittsburgh.

Watch the play again, he was backpedaling looking for someone to throw it to. It's a QB scramble by definition, not a designed run.

I've lived in other states after leaving PA and various local sports media haven't been like that, but it's gotten more like that in recent years. When the national media gets ratings for debate shows and analysts giving hot takes they know are just rage/click/view bait, the local channels follow suit.

For example here in Nashville the afternoon radio show used to be good. Former Titans GM Floyd Reese and I can't remember the main host's name but he retired in 2016. They would do analysis of the games and answer fan calls. Reese would give perspective of the process of draft preparation, combine, the type of stuff that GMs deal with in trade talks. It was kind of sports nerd material. The fans would call in with questions about scheme, plays, ideas about free agency and draft but they weren't unhinged rants frothing at the mouth. Yes there would be some venting and frustration but it wasn't over the top. Philly shows want those idiots on the air so they can all laugh about it and people listen.

Then  the local ESPN hired a loud mouth Colin Cowherd wannabe who just yelled and ranted as the host. Reese retired and I haven't listened since, it's insufferable. All the national shows like Pardon the Interruption, Around the Horn, Skip vs Sharpe, Screamin A Smith, all that stuff gets ratings I guess.

But local Philly media thrives on drama. Fans complain about coach and player answers, but they don't want to give in to the media's fishing for drama to write about. They also take quotes out of context or in part, to spin it a certain wait in their tweets or article headlines.

AJ will get his this week, they will have some planned celebration with smiles and as long as they win the game everyone will move on.

Until the next time AJ Brown looks slightly annoyed on the sidelines, someone goes to his twitter or IG to suggest his profile pic means something, which he has had for 2 months, and create more drama for no reason.
