So, if Saquon beats out Dickerson while also averaging more - probably not much of an asterisk given the credit we give Eric over OJ.

What’s wrong with Nolan Smith on 3rd down?  The light is starting to go on and I’d rather have Nolan Smith rushing in a critical situation than Bryce Huff.

Cutting down on Nolan Smith’s total snaps considering he’s a small edge getting big snaps for the first time…absolutely on board with that.

Combination of factors

1) Nolan is a better run defender than pass rusher. The inverse of Bryce Huff
2) Nolan is undersized, so taking some less snaps will help him out on both a macro/micro level.
3) Huff just has more moves which is better on 3rd down

Basically I want Josh Sweat/Huff on passing downs + Smith/Jaylx on obvious run downs

Reposting this.  Lotsa time, but no deep passes.

Only the past four games, however, which come after the two-turnovers against the Cowboys during week 10.

Fits the hesitancy narrative well.

Hurts says he’s doing what the coaches are telling him to do and the offense is being run how he wants it to be run ….. so I guess having a coffee then dumping off a short throw or getting sacked is the Eagles offensive philosophy now

Or …. the QB needs to take a bit more ownership out there

Yeah, I don’t think it’s a slight to Nolan to say Huff is a better pass rusher (at least in NYJ, and that’s almost exclusively why he got paid) as the kid does a lot things well and is improving; he’s turning into a good player who might outshine Huff in all respects at some point.

Well what's your preference. These type of wins or gun slinging turnovers? There's some middle ground in these but I'm not sure if I've seen it.

Eagles should try to find a way to get into the top 10 this upcoming draft to get Abdul Carter.  F trying to get Micah Parsons.  Get a younger, cheaper version of him.

If they can obviously.  I realize getting into the top 10 isn't easy.

What affects the outcome more? A couple passes where he should have pulled the trigger or a couple passes where he shouldn't have pulled the trigger?

The middle ground is neither happening. That would pretty much be a perfect game. That's all anybody wants. Is it too much to ask for?

Rogue Heroes on Amazon. 1941 Africa.

Only 6 episodes but terrific so far (mid episode 2).  if you like WWII stuff, I highly recommend.  In the vein of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which I also thought was pretty top drawer.

Is it at all realistic (e.g., Band of Brothers) or we talking a SAS hit squad vs mega-Chad Rommel Wolfenstein?

There is a big difference between a real possibility and "almost guaranteed".

If the Eagles win their next two games and Detroit loses to the Bills tomorrow, which I believe they will then the Eagles will be playing in week 17. Vikings have a pretty tough schedule coming out with @ Seahawks and home with Packers before heading into Detroit the final week.

Yeah, they are almost guaranteed to be the 2 seed, not the 1.  I don't see the tea leaves pushing out to give them the 1.   The 'real possibility' was that they wouldn't have anything left to play for for the final two games.

I don't see the Lions dropping two more games, which they would need to for the Eagles to overtake them, even if the Eagles win out.  So with 4 to play, I just don't see the Lions going 0.500 down the stretch run.

There’s that slim end from Tennessee, who seems to be ranked all over the 1st. He might be in reach (although maybe not as I heard he started playing the run better). Pearce.

Thedre is another wrinkle to the Game 17 situation.  The record was set in a 16 game season.

I know.  That was why I talked about it not feeling as special.

I was really the one who really harped on Jalen hurts not turning the ball over during the bye week. It’s because he was on pace to have 30 turnovers on this season. That is Jameis Winston territory. He was on pace to have 22 fumbles. That’s not sustainable if you were trying winning a Super Bowl. That’s exactly the reason the Bucs replace Jameis Winston who’d have 5100 passing yards and 33 tds by over 30 turnovers and it led to an average Bucs team that had more Talent than what their record was

There are other quarterbacks in this league that still take shots down the field and don’t have 30+ turnover pace. as a QB you know you can’t be fumbling and turning over at the pace Jalen was through the 1st 4 weeks and expect it to end well. No one was saying he couldn’t ever turn the ball over again but the team needed it to be cut down in order to maximize ability of the team

this well we harped on him about turnovers and protecting the ball so this is what you get is a bad argument. people didn’t say can never turn the ball over again. fans and eagles were saying can’t have a season where you are on pace for 30 turnovers and fumbling it 22 times and expect to win a SB. that isn’t sustainable for success. there is a happy median that you have to get to as a quarterback.

Just beat the record in 3 games, sit vs NYG and smile.

Honestly if the bills don’t win this game it’s likely over. Bears seemed to give up on their season after firing eberflus. They’ve looked even worse the last week. The niners/lions is a MNF game in week 17 and the niners likely have nothing to play for at that point.

Last week of the season is Vikings. Basically need Vikings to lose once before so we are ahead of them for 1 seed in order to avoid a tie. It likely has to be Seattle if they do otherwise if it’s to bears or packers they’d have 2 division losses. they’d lose the tiebreaker with the lions if the lions beat the bears in week 16 as the most division losses they could have is 1 if Vikings beat them and split season series with Vikings. Basically Vikings would have nothing to play for week 18 at that point. So we need Vikings to lose to Seattle and lions to lose Buffalo and bears or bears and Vikings. Or lions lose to Buffalo and niners/bears and beat the Vikings (if Vikings win the next 3).

OJ suffers the same way Pete Rose does in the view of history

Yup.

Honestly, the NFL f'd themselves over with expansion that this 17 game schedule only having ONE bye.  Basically the last couple of weeks of football may prove completely meaningless and teams may opt to rest their starters making almost all the games unwatchable.

Luckily.....we aren't the Giants.

The ruling on this Jackson St. vs. SC State game makes no sense.

Penalty on the last play before the half... it was a turnover, returned for a TD, but there was a holding call on the return team.  They made them play one untimed down (kneel down), but that doesn't make sense to me.  The half CAN end on a penalty by the 'offense'... and in the moment of the penalty, the defense had control of the ball, which would make it an 'offensive' penalty by my understanding.

Can anyone confirm what the correct call is at the end of a half?

I read they tried for authenticity with the vehicles and weapons.  More realistic than comic-book impervious to gunfire and injury genres.

Ministry was a bit over the top with so few against so many in big battle scenes, as I would suspect more SAS behind the lines stuff was less "dramatic" in battle scale, but no less potent for accomplishing goals like blowing important crap up, stealing intel and killing important bad guys.  Just not 100 at a time, lol.
