Watched the 1st episode, definitely in the Sgt Rock comic book realm but appreciate the production values that you mentioned and that it wasn’t green screened.

In other news, it looks like entire army senior class is headed to the 101 (ah, in recognition of the Battle of the Bulge).

80th anniversary this year.

TBH that phrase should never be repeated - not in a serious sense, anyway.   The process has been (without question) defunct.

TBH they should start the rebuild now - let Embiid walk (via trade) so he has a chance to win a championship with the few years he has left and start building around Maxey & McCain.

Bad bad day to be an Army fan.

Steelers defense has been more stout against the run than the pass.  Not saying you game plan to throw 50 times, but you start with balance and adjust to what is working well.

I predict a play action bomb to AJ akin to TOs first game

That would be marvelous

He can't be traded until the season ends.  With injuries,  a knee that looks like toast, and an annual salary of $64 million from 2026-2028 he will be very difficult to trade.

Frankly, the Sixers should just tank the season at this point. Because they’re not going anywhere anyways. They’re not healthy enough with embiid consistently missing time to even go on a run to make it reasonable to think that they have a puncher’s chance. They keep their pick if it’s inside the top six. There’s a good chance if you just go out there and be really bad you keep the pick. They have the 6th worst record right now. Without Embiid and McClain there’s a good chance they could finish with a bottom 5 record as PG doesn’t stay healthy either.

i’m guessing they elect not to do that. But if they did they potentially could get a top six pick and use it as either an asset next off-season or could use it to draft a kid that you could use on the wing for the future.  Sixers have surprising done a good job identifying quality talent in the first round since Morey has come here.

I specifically said 'pass protection' for a LT.  Nothing 'scrum' about that.  It's one on one.

You specifically mention dancing bear feet and that is what I was responding to.

Yes, I did.  Did you finish reading the whole sentence?

Which is why Mailata is even more of an outlier than JP.

But yes, Mailata comparison to Hurts is a false equivalence.  Different coaches in the same sport is night and day compared to switching different sports.  Some of what Mailata does in the running game, pulling, etc mirrors rugby, but the dancing bear footwork of pass protection has no correlation.  Mailata has benefitted from the best OL coach of his generation being his coach, but its still a ridiculous transition for Mailata, one that may never be duplicated again.

And I suggested that footwork in a scrum isn’t so different than scrum footwork as to there being no correlation.  We’ll have to just disagree on that point.

Have you know faith that Stout can turn Vakalahi into Mailata 2.0?

My major points have focused on coaching.  I believe Nussmeier to be a Stoutland level QB coach.

Can’t get bounced in the second round if you don’t make the playoffs

Crazy that this can happen

May be an image of 2 people, people playing football and text that says 'လျသူာ TII NXTRND MARSHALL MARSHALL HAS OPTED OUT OF BOWL GAME DUE TO NO PLAYERS LEFT MARSHALL HAS LOST OVER 30 PLAYERS TO PORTAL & CAN'T FIELD COMPETITIVE TEAM'

Maybe. If he gets healthy this season though and there’s a team in contention missing a big piece, it could be a fit.  Let’s not forget, a 100% healthy Embiid is an MVP level player.

College football as we know it is dead and gone. Sucks. NIL completely out of control, there should have been a hard cap set

Searching for a 100% healthy and motivated Embiid at playoff time is like searching for a snowman in the Sahara

I have a feeling we are in for a big game from Jalen tmrw.

Cant he traded this season and no one has 63 million to spare at this point in the season. No one in their right mind is trading for him with that contract even if they did have the resources to acquire him given his playoff history. He isnt a missing big piece anymore

you are consistently one of the most ignorant posters here.  The amount of times Embiid has played with serious injuries in the playoffs and to say he isn't motivated.

Yep, players deserve to get paid but once that box was opened it was all downhill from there.

The smarter play is to use Brown as a decoy on play #1 and hit Smitty deep. Everyone is going to be thinking Brown.

He's a soft **** with a capital B when it matters most.

Not to mention he always like always calls out his teammates or coaches.

Joel Embiid has averaged 23.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 11 games in elimination games in his career.
